I recently contacted you by phone regarding the status of my student loan. It was marked as pending in my account, and I was supposed to receive it in September, but I haven't yet. During the call, the person I spoke with mentioned that when checking with my reference number, there was no record of my loan application. However, I distinctly remember applying for it some time ago, and it still shows as applied for on my account. I explained that I failed my third year last year and that I am entitled to another loan to repeat the year, which I have done. Unfortunately, the lady on the phone was not very polite when I tried to clarify this issue. I am currently on a university placement without any income for petrol or academic materials, making it challenging. I would appreciate a prompt resolution to this matter. Thank you.

I recently contacted your team regarding my student loan status showing as pending in my account. I was expecting to receive it this September but haven't received it yet. During the call, the representative mentioned that my reference number showed no record of my application. However, I distinctly remember applying for the loan some time ago, as shown in the attached screenshot. I explained that this situation is a repeat from last year due to failing my third year previously. I know the policy allows for another loan when repeating a year after failing, as I am doing now. The urgency of this matter is high as I rely on this loan while on my university placement, without any other income for expenses like petrol and academic materials. I kindly request a prompt resolution to this issue. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My daughter completed one year at Falmouth University studying Game Art. This year, she applied for financial assistance. However, she recently received conflicting letters regarding her eligibility, with one stating she received the minimum amount, another mentioning zero funding, and one claiming she was overpaid £4,[redacted] last year. This situation leaves her with a negative balance for this year. Our financial situation remains the same as before, with me working part-time as a cleaner and my husband as a delivery driver. It is puzzling why she might not be entitled to the full amount. How is she expected to cover living costs, accommodation, and meals with zero funding? I have made several attempts to contact customer service without success. I hope to resolve this issue promptly to ensure my daughter's education is not hindered.

I recently received a response regarding my Student Finance application stating that I submitted an incorrect form for the academic year. They mentioned that I need to complete a Student Finance England PN1 form instead. I originally applied as a continuing EU student and received the student fee loan for my second year. After obtaining settled status on 20/10/21, I reapplied as advised by a representative, this time using a PN1 form as a UK student for the current academic year, [redacted]/[redacted]. I'm confused as to what mistake I made and which academic year they are referring to. Shouldn't it be for [redacted]/22?

I am inquiring about my eligibility for student finance. I am a South African residing in the UK with a South African passport and UK Ancestral Visa. I have been living in the UK for three years, with two more years until I can apply for British citizenship. I am interested in studying through The Open University, but I am unsure about the information to provide in my finance application - whether to choose Settled Status, Pre-settled status, etc. I would appreciate any guidance on this matter. Regards, Taye Smith

On my student finance application, it incorrectly states that my parents support me. However, my situation involves my partner and me living in a caravan on my mom's property, which is our independent living situation. I cover my own expenses, while my partner receives a yearly benefit amount. I currently work two days a week caring for my partner, but plan to reduce my work hours to one day when I start my course to reduce stress. I need to address this inaccuracy, as my dad has never been a source of support. The instructions say to include parents if living with them, but our living arrangement is separate. Once my partner and I move while I am at university, it will just be the two of us. I seek guidance on correcting this on my application.

Hello everyone, I recently applied for tuition and maintenance loans for my university studies, being the son of an EU migrant worker in the UK for the past five years. While the fees were covered in the first year, I encountered issues with the maintenance loan in my second year, despite providing the required paperwork, including my NI number. I unexpectedly received an email stating that my living circumstances had changed, and I was deemed ineligible for financial support as I was not dependent on my EU family member. This decision puzzles me as my situation has not altered since the previous year. I have already appealed this decision per EU regulations, but any advice or insights on this matter would be greatly appreciated as I navigate through this confusing situation. Thank you.
