Earlier, I fell victim to a scam by an individual claiming to be a Valve employee. The scammer pretended to be a friend who informed me about an accidental ban for abusing items in TF2. Suspecting a ruse, I reached out to someone displaying a Valve badge on Steam. The imposter convinced me to take drastic actions to prevent a ban, such as logging out, changing my email, and disclosing my password. Despite complying, my account was locked, and I received the very ban I was told to avoid. The scammer then attempted to swindle me further by requesting a purchase to unlock my account. Realizing the deception, I confronted the scammer on Discord, only to be blocked. I have removed my payment details from the account, but I am worried about losing access to over $1,[redacted] worth of items. Any guidance on how to proceed would be appreciated.

I received a concerning message from a friend's account stating they accidentally submitted a ban for duping TF2 items instead of targeting someone else. Initially doubtful, I later interacted with someone claiming to have a Valve badge and membership in the Steam Valve group. Believing them to be genuine, I followed their instructions which led to a self-lock on my account and an unexpected community ban. The individual then requested I purchase a TF2 key to verify a transaction, arousing my suspicion. Upon scrutiny, I found that the account guiding me through the process was the same one that had supposedly made the error. Feeling deceived, I confronted them, but they promptly blocked me. I have removed my credit card details from my account, but with over $1,[redacted] tied up, I am worried about losing access. Additional details will be shared below.

While playing Left 4 Dead 2, I received a text from a friend apologizing for reporting me for fraudulent purchases on Steam. He provided me with the name of an admin. The admin mentioned suspending my account and restarting it, but after chatting for an hour, none of the methods worked. I am currently in the process of moving to Spain, and I canceled my US phone number with Consumer Cellular, leaving me stuck. I've encountered several obstacles, including being unable to start a new account to contact my friend "Keyboard Kat" in-game to discuss the situation. My account is suspended, and I suspect it may have been stolen. I'm unable to open a new account from Spain and purchase games. I feel like I've been scammed and have lost access to my 11-year-old game collection.

I am a user with the account name captainawesome73 regarding an incident I experienced on Twitch. I came across a fraudulent stream impersonating a popular gamer and was misled into giving away my steam account details for a fake skin giveaway. Unfortunately, my account was compromised by individuals claiming to be from Russia. They changed my email, phone number, and password, leaving me unable to recover my account with my usual email address that I've had since [redacted]. I received an email notification of a login attempt from Russia, which confirms my suspicions. I took measures to lock the account but now seek assistance in regaining access to it as I possess a substantial library of over [redacted] games. I am willing and able to provide any necessary proof of ownership, and I am hopeful for a resolution through communication with the appropriate channels. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I downloaded a game on April 25 in the evening. I started playing it but was disappointed by the choppy gameplay and poor graphics despite meeting the minimum requirements. Seeking help on the forums, I discovered a known issue dating back to [redacted]. Despite trying suggested fixes, the problems persisted, prompting me to request a refund. Unfortunately, my refund was denied due to 16 hours of recorded gameplay, which seems inaccurate as I've only had the game for less than two days and have no other activities at the moment. I believe an exception should be made given the game's unplayable state.

I have been trying to contact Steam for several years now. My account was trade banned four years ago, and I have yet to receive a reason for it. I have never scammed anyone, and all my trades have been fair. Despite reporting scammers who tried to cheat me, I am the one who received a ban. Steam advised me to report scammers but took no action against them. Within a week of being marked as potentially untrustworthy, I was banned. Until then, no one had complained about their trades with me. I decided to only trade with friends to avoid issues, but three days later, I received a permanent trade ban with no explanation.

I need help with my hacked Steam account. While in a Twitch channel, I clicked a link promising free items, then realized my account, bananas123417, was compromised. The hacker changed my password, email, and phone number. I've contacted Steam support but haven't received assistance in 6 days. I fear losing all my items and money, especially since there's a trade ban until 05/11/[redacted]. Please reach out urgently before the hacker can profit from selling my collectibles.

I recently got hacked by someone I suspect is from Russia. I received an email with their IP address and location after my account login details were changed while using a website. I am extremely worried because I had spent a significant amount of money on Steam, approximately $50 on Paladins, around $12 on CS:GO, $5 on Prime, and about $[redacted] on skins. While this may not seem like a lot in the US, in Poland, where I live, it's a substantial amount. The average monthly income here is around $[redacted], so losing this money hurts a lot. I fear that all my purchased games and items might be gone as my account settings have been changed to private. Luckily, there was only a small amount in my bank account, approximately 30 cents, but I have other cards linked with a total of $[redacted], which is a significant sum for me. Please help me with this situation.

I am having trouble accessing my Steam account. Despite numerous attempts, I am unable to log in or change my password. Each time I try to reset it through the support page, I am informed that my password is invalid. I use a password manager, so I am certain the passwords I try are correct. I have experimented with various combinations of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols to no avail. I should mention that my Steam client is not the most recent version, and I have not used the account in a while, although it appears to be updated without any issues. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find assistance in Australia. I appreciate any help. Thank you in advance. - David E.

I am having trouble accessing my Steam account. Despite numerous attempts, I am unable to change my password as the support page consistently tells me the password is invalid. I use a password manager, and I have tried various combinations of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols without success. My Steam client is outdated, but it claims to be updated with no issues flagged. Unfortunately, there is no local support available in Australia. I kindly request assistance from Steam to restore my account access and allow me to reset the password. I have invested in several software titles from Steam, and I believe it is essential to resolve this issue promptly. Thank you in advance for your help. - D.E.

I kindly request that Steam Software reactivates my account and allows me to reset my password. I am having trouble accessing my Steam account. Despite multiple attempts to change my password through various support options, I keep receiving notifications that my password is incorrect. I use a password manager, and all the password variations I attempted are the same. I even tried creating longer or shorter passwords with different combinations of characters. My Steam client is a bit outdated, as I have not used it in a while, but it shows as updated without any issues. Unfortunately, there are no available support options in Australia. I desperately seek assistance. I would greatly appreciate it if Steam could restore my account access and enable me to reset my password. I have purchased a lot of their software, and this situation feels unjust. Thank you in advance. - David E.

My account was stolen by someone from Russia. I came across a post on the Steam community offering a free skin as an apology for recent server issues. The post had positive comments, so I believed it was legitimate. Upon clicking the link for the giveaway, I was prompted to log in to my Steam account, entering my username and password as usual. Shortly after, I received an email notifying me that my Steam Guard and phone number had been removed, and my password and email linked to the account were changed. Upon checking the email, I noticed the IP address was from Russia, while I am based in Malaysia. I attempted to recover my account through Steam support by selecting the option for a stolen account. However, when I tried to change my password, Steam asked for my email address or phone number, which the hacker had altered, making it impossible for me to regain access to my account. I have searched for solutions online, but the methods provided differ from my situation. My Steam account username is underload284. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Four weeks ago, my account was suspended, and now it has been completely banned. I have emailed to explain that my parents' bank account was hacked, and I unintentionally used it to make a $10 payment to Steam. Despite offering to repay the $10, I am unable to reach anyone online for assistance. After receiving an email instructing me to call, I tried contacting you but was unable to speak to anyone. This back-and-forth is becoming frustrating. I kindly request a phone call or a valid number to resolve this matter. Thank you. - Conor Beard

Today, while playing War Robots, the game suddenly crashed with no explanation. Subsequently, I noticed that my Steam account had been logged off without any email notification. Upon logging back in, I discovered that my username had been changed to Werton from my original name, charliechen123. My email address, previously [redacted], had also been altered inexplicably. Moreover, my password was modified without any notification, even though I have invested a significant amount of money in my account. I have attempted to reset my password, but the changed email address has made it impossible to do so. I am eager to recover access to my account and would appreciate prompt assistance.

I mistakenly visited a fake Twitch stream impersonating Shroud's, where I was prompted to enter my account details for a supposed free skin by typing "!skins." Subsequently, I received an email notification from Steam confirming a password change, and my associated email address was altered, preventing me from accessing the support page. Account name: thatonetrickpony93 Original email: [redacted] Dear thatonetrickpony93, Your Steam account's email address has been changed. For security purposes, this notification is sent to ensure the protection of your account. If you authorized this change, no action is needed. In case you did not authorize this change, conducted from IP address 77.94.1.[redacted] (RU), it's recommended to change both your Steam and email passwords promptly to safeguard your account. If access issues persist, a specific recovery link is provided for account retrieval assistance or self-locking.

I need assistance with my Steam account. After setting up my account with [redacted], I can't log in through the app despite changing the password multiple times, doing virus scans, and trying different devices. I can only access the website, not where I can redeem the code I need. As I need this for work on a Zoom call, I'm unsure what steps to take and feel my account is compromised. I want to play the game I purchased through the app and would like to resolve this issue before attempting a refund from Jackbox.

A young relative unknowingly purchased a Steam game on April 1st during their visit. I recently discovered this transaction on my bill at the beginning of this month. I am familiar with Steam's refund policy and understand they typically do not issue refunds for purchases made more than 14 days ago. Due to financial constraints, I kindly request for someone to investigate my case. My nephew accessed my laptop, where my card details are saved, and played the game for only 23 minutes before leaving. I value being a loyal Steam customer and hope my circumstances can be considered. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to a response from the Steam team. Have a great week. Thank you.

Recently, I received a link from a friend to claim a free gun skin on CS:GO. Trusting the source, I clicked on it and was prompted to enter my Steam username and password. Even though it seemed secure with the Steam logo, the page wouldn't load completely. After realizing the link was not legitimate, I contacted my friend who denied sending it. Upon further investigation, neither my friend nor his acquaintance claimed to have sent the link. Now, all three of us are unable to access our Steam accounts, play games, or even create new accounts. Whenever we try to log in, the system indicates that our credentials are incorrect or have been changed. We are distressed as we collectively own around $[redacted] to $[redacted] worth of games on Steam. We are unsure how to proceed and seek urgent assistance on this matter.

I am having trouble obtaining a refund for a DLC in the game "DCS World" from Steam support. Despite using the DLC for less than 2 hours and requesting a refund on the same day of purchase, my refund requests keep being automatically denied. The denial reason cited is excessive playtime (5 hours+), but this is referring to my total game playtime, not the DLC usage. I purposely avoided using the DLC content to ensure it remained refundable. Despite my efforts, I only receive automated responses and have been unable to reach a human representative despite multiple requests. I am unable to find a way to contact Steam support directly online for assistance with this issue as the support page only provides self-help solutions. Thank you.
