A while back, I had a Steam account with numerous games on it. I accidentally locked the account thinking it was hacked after changing the password and forgetting about it. I attempted to recover it, but couldn't at the time, so I created a new one (gabrielthecoolta1). Recently, I rediscovered the original account and realized it still exists. I would like to see if it's possible to regain access. I can provide identification including the username ggerin, which represents Gabriel Gerin. I believe I used my school email ([redacted]) for this account, but I am now reachable at my personal email.

My son was contacted on Steam chat by someone who claimed to have mistakenly reported him. This person advised my son to talk to a Steam representative on Discord. Unfortunately, my son shared his account details with the individual. Later, at 4:14 PM PST, the person removed the phone number and email linked to the account "saberlight8" (email: [redacted]). There were unsuccessful attempts to make purchases on G2APay.com, except for a $50 transfer. We've tried the recommended account recovery steps but haven't succeeded. My main worry is any credit/debit card details linked to the account. Kindly contact me (his father) at [redacted] I'd appreciate a direct conversation if feasible.

I have encountered an issue with my Steam account for the past 5 years. Initially, everything was functioning well until I forgot the family code PIN. Upon contacting Steam support for assistance, instead of receiving the PIN through email, they promptly locked my account citing potential unauthorized access. They requested proof of ownership such as the first email used to create the account or credit card details. Given that my account is 12 years old, recalling such dated information is unrealistic. It seems unreasonable to ask for details from over a decade ago. Is there no alternative method for verifying my ownership? Despite reaching out several times over the 5-year period and providing a CD key activated 6 years ago, cooperation from Steam has been lacking. If there truly was another owner, wouldn't they have contacted Steam in this time frame? Requesting details from [redacted], when I was just 12 years old, is unfeasible. However, I do possess a CD key that only the true owner would have.

I purchased "The Escapists Two" game based on recommendations from friends, a year ago. Despite intending to play it, I found the game less enjoyable than anticipated. Spending two hours memorizing the controls was a challenge, and facing crashes once or twice every hour was frustrating. I feel that the twenty-dollar investment in the game was not worth it. While I requested a refund, I have been informed that I have played for more than two hours. Indeed, I have six hours of gameplay, with the initial two dedicated to getting accustomed to the controls. I hope for a resolution to receive a refund for this experience.

I am reaching out tonight as a last effort for help with my issue regarding the game “Green Hell” and my playtime discrepancy. Despite providing video evidence in the form of a live stream VOD, I have been unsuccessful in navigating the automated refund process. My brother and I both played the game for approximately two hours each initially. However, somehow, an additional hour was added to my recorded playtime, making it three hours total and disqualifying me from a refund. I am unsure how this error occurred but I lack the financial means to cover this mistake. The linked video is from the night of purchase, capturing my only gameplay session. Please consider that the initial 5 minutes were omitted from the beginning of the VOD. In this timeframe, I met a friend, explored a cave briefly, adjusted settings, and then sought out my brother. The gameplay concluded around 1 hour and 46 minutes. I appreciate your attention to this matter and trust it will be resolved appropriately.

Good day, Upon waking up this morning, I was shocked to discover that my account had been unfairly banned in CSGO. I can assure you that I have never resorted to using cheats in the game. I recently made an investment by purchasing a Music Kit and adding $10 to my Steam account to acquire in-game skins. I value my account greatly, especially considering the time I have spent on it during this quarantine period. The ban is unjust, and I would like to emphasize that I am a dedicated and honest player. Despite the language barrier, I hope you can understand my situation and assist in resolving this issue promptly. I have attached some stats for your reference and I am willing to provide further evidence, even in video format, to prove my innocence. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I spent around [redacted] gems today to purchase a set of 3 cards in "PC Building Simulator" without fully understanding the process. I intended to use the gems to level up my Steam account but realized that was not possible upon researching cards, gems, and the market. I now comprehend how it works and would like to request a refund for my gems as I no longer want the cards. Instead, I would prefer to use the gems on a different game or games. Can you please assist me with getting a refund for the unused gems? Thank you.

I bought ArcheAge: Unchained, but downloading it through the Glyph launcher via Steam made it appear as if I was playing the game, affecting my playtime stats. The download took over 4.5 hours due to slow internet, and upon playing, I encountered multiple issues like an error, crashes, and a game-breaking bug within the first 20-30 minutes. I wish to request a refund from Steam, but their automated system is counting the download time as part of my total playtime, exceeding the 2-hour limit for refunds. This seems unfair as the download time shouldn't be factored in.

My son's Steam account has been hacked. The hacker altered his password and email. After receiving an email notification from Steam about these changes, we followed the instructions to secure the account. The email revealed the hacker's location in Russia, while we are in Texas. Despite attempting to recover the account through provided links, we could not proceed as the email is now changed. We require assistance from a representative to verify my son's identity and reclaim his account. Thank you.

Good Afternoon, I am the parent of the account ttvwalmartgang69. This account was created secretly by a 12-year-old boy who then proceeded to use his father's debit card without permission to fund the account with $[redacted]. A refund was requested on April 14, but the 12-year-old boy made a purchase on April 18 before the funds were removed. None of this was authorized by the parents. We respectfully request a refund of the $[redacted] deposited on the account on April 14. Once the funds are returned, we will delete the account. My husband has reported this fraudulent activity and had his debit card replaced, causing us inconvenience. Any assistance in refunding this money would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I am still unable to log in to my Steam account. The customer support number provided states that Steam does not offer phone support and disconnects. I have submitted an online request for help, but have yet to receive a response. I am unable to ask additional questions as there is an existing support request linked to my email. When attempting to reset my password, I am informed that there is no account associated with my email. It seems they are prompt at processing payments, but not at resolving support issues.

Hello! I'm currently experiencing difficulties with Steam's file validation service while playing Ark Survival Evolved. Two files consistently fail to validate when I try to verify the integrity of the game files. Despite Steam's attempts to download and fix the files, no changes occur. The game crashes when loading "WorldEnd." I've taken several steps to address this problem: 1. Ran a CHKDSK scan 2. Disabled all firewalls 3. Clean booted Windows 4. Reinstalled Steam 5. Reinstalled the game 6. Removed all mods and attempted another validation 7. Tested on different maps; still crashes on singleplayer without mods 8. Restored save data from an uncorrupted backup 9. Removed config files.

I purchased a $50 Steam gift card from the store. When I got home and tried to reveal the code by scratching off the gray strip, it appeared damaged and unreadable. I am unsure if I can exchange it for another card or get a refund. Any assistance with this matter would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Last week, I purchased NBA 2K20 for my son, but our old computer didn't have enough space for the game. I successfully received a refund. This week, we bought the game again after getting a 1TB external hard drive. Following a lengthy download, my son initiated an update that dragged on for over 9 hours. Despite not being able to actually play the game due to technical issues, the refund request was denied as it registered over 9 hours of playtime. There appears to be no way to appeal this decision, and no available email address for further communication.

While playing CS:GO, I visited the live matches section to check out streamers like shroud. I noticed a $10,[redacted] sponsorship link attributed to Shroud. Curious, I clicked on it, and it redirected me to a supposed gift of a Karambit Lore from shroudupvy. After entering my Steam credentials, within a minute, all my account details were altered. My phone number was gone, and my email was switched. I attempted to recover my account unsuccessfully. The IP address linked to the email change was from Russia, specifically 37.[redacted].57.[redacted]. I filled out Steam's hacked account recovery form and now I'm patiently waiting. This incident occurred at 18:36 Macedonian time, roughly 30 minutes ago. Any assistance would mean the world to me. To anyone who reads this or provides aid, you are my hero.

I purchased Bannerlord on March 31st, and within less than 2 hours of receiving the game, I played for a total of [redacted] minutes. Unfortunately, due to significant lag issues, I was unable to enjoy the gameplay. I attempted to obtain a refund roughly 15 days later to purchase a smoother gaming experience but was denied because of the 2-week policy. Despite the fact that I haven't played the game since the initial day I acquired it and my limited playtime, the refund was not granted. I feel frustrated as I believe I meet all the criteria except the timing constraint. It appears my explanations have gone unnoticed, and I am disappointed by the perceived injustice. I wish for assistance in resolving this matter promptly so I can invest in a game that aligns better with my expectations.

A friend from Steam shared a link with me to a CS:GO skin website that claimed to offer free skins. After trying it out and getting a skin, I was prompted to log into my Steam account, which seemed normal. However, following that, I found myself logged out of the Steam app. When trying to reset my password, I realized that my email was not recognized by the system with my account. The website seems to have taken advantage of my confusion. I'm here hoping to find assistance as Steam has not provided me with any useful solutions to address this problem. My main concern is to secure my account and protect my collection of Steam games.

A friend using my Steam account, Nakia, reported me for receiving scammed items by mistake. She directed me to contact someone named Mr. Alle on Steam for help. Mr. Alle instructed me to open a Discord account, buy a $50 Steam card, and asked for my login information, which I foolishly shared. During our conversation, I heard background noises including a rooster and what sounded like Indian voices despite him claiming not to have a microphone. I suspect he may have hacked my and Nakia's accounts. Mr. Alle sent screenshots of my account being banned and appeared to be deleting my data. I am not very tech-savvy, but I can share our Discord conversation and his messages on Steam. I also provided my phone number, a landline at [redacted], as my cell phone has poor reception in my mountainous location.

I purchased "House Flipper" on Steam but encountered significant delays during startup, approximately 45 minutes, and experienced extreme slowness once it finally launched. I researched solutions to address the lag, spent another 35 minutes adjusting graphics settings, but the game remained slow. Despite restarting my laptop, reloading the game (another 45-minute wait), and reattempting to adjust settings, it continued to perform poorly. Steam denied my refund request twice due to the amount of time I spent attempting to play. I explained that the sluggish performance prevented me from actually playing the game, but they maintained their decision. I am frustrated as I have paid for a game I am unable to enjoy.

Recently, I fell victim to a scam involving someone impersonating a Valve employee. Initially, I received a message from a supposed friend informing me of a ban for item duplicating in TF2, falsely claiming it was meant for someone else. The individual, posing as a Valve staff member, convinced me to provide my login details under the pretense of resolving the issue. As a result, my account was self-locked and received a community ban. The imposter then attempted to trick me into purchasing a Steam key to regain access to my account. Realizing the fraud, I confronted the scammer, who promptly blocked me. Despite removing my payment information, I'm concerned about the funds left in my account. Any guidance on how to proceed would be appreciated. I have additional messages and chat transcripts for reference.
