A friend on Steam sent me a message falsely accusing me of illegal purchases. They referred me to a supposed Valve employee. The employee, who identified as Mr. Jager, attempted to verify my account by phone and email. However, my phone number had changed, causing issues. After receiving validation codes, I provided one which was deemed incorrect. Subsequently, I shared my Discord details. Mr. Jager then locked my account, claiming it was to prevent theft, and requested my Steam transaction history. As my bank transactions were insufficient, he directed me to create a Coinbase account to transfer money for verification. After sending £[redacted], he insisted on an additional £[redacted] for full verification. Suspecting a scam, I tried to cancel the transactions, but the bitcoins were already transferred elsewhere.

Help Needed with Gumtree Purchase I arranged to buy a motorbike for my son through Gumtree in Australia. I had not seen the bike in person or met the seller yet. On the way to pick up the bike, the seller asked for $[redacted] payment in Steam Gift cards. I bought the cards, but the seller wanted the numbers scratched off before meeting. Sensing something was not right, I refused, and the seller got angry, giving me a fake address when we arrived. I now have $[redacted] in a Steam account I don't need. The 7/11 won't refund me. How can I get my money back? Thank you, Michael S.

I am seeking a refund for the Steam game Wolcen Lords of Mayhem. The game is currently extremely glitchy, preventing me from logging in. It fails to work in both offline and online modes. Despite multiple bug fixes post-launch, the game has now reached a point where a bug renders it unplayable. Even after reinstalling, the issue persists. While I acknowledge having played for more than 2 hours, the majority of my time was spent offline due to server instability. Attempts to contact Wolcen's support team have been met with silence, with the last update shared 24 hours ago. The lack of communication with the community is concerning. Numerous in-game items are bugged, and core gameplay mechanics are faulty. The development team threatens players who unintentionally exploit known bugs while only issuing one weekly hotfix, raising doubts about their competence. This is the first time in seven years I am requesting a refund, as I find it unfair to charge €30 for such a flawed game. I appreciate your assistance in addressing this matter. Thank you for understanding these issues. Best regards.

I encountered an issue with Steam's refund policy regarding the game Black Ops 3 that I purchased for my Mac to play with friends. Despite troubleshooting with network settings and verifying the game files, I couldn't join games due to errors. After multiple attempts to launch the game, I decided to uninstall and reinstall it, but it still didn't work. I requested a refund due to being unable to play because of technical issues, but Steam denied it twice, claiming I had played for 6 hours. I only spent 16 minutes in solo mode to test it, never starting the campaign or multiplayer. I'm unsure how to proceed since I was unable to play the game as intended.

I recently purchased Black Ops 3 on Steam to play with my friends on my Mac. However, I encountered an issue where I couldn't join their game due to a lobby error. After troubleshooting my moderate NAT type and verifying the game files, I still couldn't launch the game successfully. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but it still wouldn't start. Despite only having 16 minutes of solo gameplay due to the launch issue, Steam denied my refund request twice, stating I had played for 6 hours. I'm frustrated because I never even got to try the campaign or multiplayer modes, and the game was unplayable for me.

I was recently wrongly accused of illegally downloading GTA 5 and was advised to contact a Steam Representative. After providing proof of purchase by sharing a screenshot of my purchase history, the representative accessed my account and locked me out, changing my email. He demanded $[redacted] to return access to my account, threatening to delete it otherwise. Reluctant to part with money, I opted not to pay and sought to recover my account. Despite reaching out to Steam twice with no response after 24 hours, I am anxious about losing access to my account and all my games. Your assistance in reclaiming my account would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Grayson.

I am experiencing an issue with Steam where I am unable to start the application, yet it is still counting the days towards the refund policy. This is frustrating as it prevents me from accessing the platform to return products. Despite this, I want to address this matter with Steam without any biased expectations. I have been a customer for nine years, and it is disappointing to encounter such poor customer service. I understand that technical problems can occur, but it is essential for Steam to provide better assistance in resolving these issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.

I received false report for illegally downloading GTA *. After contacting Steam, I was asked to provide proof of purchase, which I did by sending a screenshot of my purchase history. However, the representative locked me out of my account and changed the email. He demanded money to restore access, threatening to delete my account otherwise. Refusing to pay, I am now trying to regain control of my account. I have reached out to Steam for assistance twice but have not received a response in over ** hours. I am concerned about losing access to my account and all the games I have purchased. Grayson

I believe my account was mistakenly removed after being reported. The person who reported me confirmed it was accidental. However, the administrator did not handle the situation properly and threatened to ban my account. During a Discord call, the administrator questioned me about how I pay for games, to which I mentioned PayPal but declined to provide further details. Unfortunately, the admin resorted to name-calling and removed my account. I seek assistance in resolving this matter, reinstating my account, and providing necessary training for the administrator on handling such issues more effectively. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I bought FOOTBALL MANAGER [redacted] on Steam, but unfortunately, the game crashes 2-5 minutes into loading. I reached out to SEGA, and they have been helpful but only managed to get Football Manager Touch working, a game I didn't want. Despite sending them crash dumps and following their suggestions, the issue persists. My high-end system can run all other applications flawlessly. Steam has denied my refund requests, claiming I played FMTouch for too long, which was an attempt to fix the main game with SEGA's guidance. The game I purchased has less than an hour of playtime due to constant crashes. I am frustrated and seek a refund and a chance to speak with a human representative to address this issue fairly.

Dear Customer Support, I am reaching out to you regarding my recent purchase of the game 'Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem' on February 14th. Regrettably, I encountered issues running the game on my computer due to hardware limitations. The gameplay experience also did not align with what was initially advertised by the creators. Despite not playing the game on my account due to hardware constraints, I let a friend (Rafael Rossonero) try it on their Steam account for less than 2 hours, likely around half that time. Subsequently, my friend made a separate purchase for the game on their own account, prompting me to seek a refund for my unused copy. I am aware of the refund policy and believe I meet all the necessary criteria for a refund in this situation. I have attempted to address this with Steam support through the website, but it seems my concerns were overlooked, possibly by an automated response. Despite explaining the situation clearly, I received repetitive messages stating I had played for over 2 hours, which is not the case. This experience has left me frustrated, considering my loyalty to Steam and intention to upgrade my gaming setup for future purchases. I kindly request a thorough review of this matter and a prompt resolution. Thank you for your assistance. Sincerely, Arpina

Yesterday, my account Kai_zen7707 was hacked by someone I accepted a friend request from. They sent a link for free CSGO skins, which led me to enter an access code sent to my phone. I have reported this to Steam, but I fear it may take too long for them to respond and resolve the issue. My contact number is +[redacted]5, the same one I used to register my Steam profile. I have already changed my email password to [redacted] I've been an active Steam player for some time now, using usernames like Sunnyvotak_blackwolf, Zara7707, and Kaizen. I tried creating a new account with the same email, but I couldn't link it to my old phone number. My Steam wallet has approximately Rm3.90, and I have purchased skins for the Sniper and Silencer before.

On February 15, when I logged into my account, I noticed that all my skins were missing. Upon checking my trades, I discovered that a trade request had been sent on February 13, apparently by me, although I would never do that without receiving something in return. When attempting to access my authenticator on my phone, I realized it was no longer working on my device. Reviewing my email, I observed messages from February 13 indicating that my email had been changed successfully, and the authenticator had been transferred to a new device. While still logged into my Steam account on my PC, I noticed a different email address and phone number in the settings. After trying to log in through the browser and failing due to a changed password, I took a photo of the random email address listed in the settings. I contacted Steam support for assistance, but shortly after, I was logged out of my account and now cannot log back in. I posted a warning on my Steam profile about the hack and asked people not to click any links sent from my account. This situation is unfamiliar to me, and I'm unsure how to proceed. The total value of the skins lost is approximately [redacted] euros. As a streamer, losing access to my account is particularly concerning. I understand that this may be a common issue for you, but I sincerely request your help. Thank you, Ella.

Last night, while playing CSGO, I decided to watch some streamers. For the first time, I saw Shroud, a professional CSGO player, was streaming. He was giving out free skins by typing !skin in the chat. I mistakenly clicked on a poster below the video panel, redirecting me to the Steam site. I entered my username and password but received an SMS code instead of an email login confirmation. After entering the code, I couldn't access my account. The hacker changed my email, and I received an email alert from Steam with the IP address 94.[redacted].[redacted].[redacted] in Russia. My Steam account name is cpt_hell. Please reach out if you need more details. I can provide proof of my debit card used for game purchases, a screenshot from the compromised account, and my Steam user data number.

I need assistance regarding my hacked account, which was used for scams. Steam Support has resolved the account issue. However, there is a lingering misunderstanding with my friends who received messages from the scammer. The friends involved are THE GOLDERN BADGER (universe picture), Hornb1ll [RS] (astronaut picture), and the most problematic one, La bien (woman in blue shirt grabbing her hair), who falsely accused me of scamming. I seek help from Steam Support to address this misunderstanding by possibly sending emails to explain my situation to them. I can testify to my innocence in this matter due to the scammer's IP address (49.[redacted].[redacted].[redacted] PH) accessing my Gmail linked to Steam after a sudden security breach. With the assistance of Steam Support, community advice, and Google search, I secured my account. While the account issue is resolved, the misunderstanding with my friends persists. Can you kindly assist me with this? Thank you.

Dear Forum Members, I am reaching out because I am facing difficulties obtaining a refund from Steam for the game SQUAD. Despite rave reviews, I encountered persistent issues with the game. From extensive loading times in tutorials to crashing mid-game, my experience was far from smooth. I found it impossible to join any servers, leading to frustration. Although Steam indicates that I spent 10 hours playing, this actually consisted of navigating loading screens and enduring crashes. My attempts to request a refund through the Steam app were unsuccessful, citing my gameplay time as a deterrent. However, this information is inaccurate given the circumstances. I kindly seek your advice on how to proceed as it has been nearly a month since the purchase and two weeks since my refund request. Thank you for your assistance. TK_VC

I recently purchased the game "Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem." While trying to play with my friends in the multiplayer lobby, we encountered issues launching the game. Even after troubleshooting extensively, we were unsuccessful. I reached out to the Steam refund team via email, seeking assistance. Unfortunately, I have only received automated responses stating that I am not eligible for a refund due to playing over 2 hours. However, I have not actually played the game at all, only had it open while trying to resolve the technical difficulties. I have requested Steam to reconsider this decision and provide a personalized response instead of the automated ones I have been receiving.

I bought Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, and the first install disc installed Steam. There are five more discs to install, but I cannot sign into my Steam account. It keeps saying my password is wrong even though I changed it. I am frustrated with this Steam app because I prefer to just install the game and play offline without Steam. I feel like I wasted my money on a game I cannot even get past the first disc out of six. Can you help me login to my Steam account? I have tried everything, and not being able to call for help is frustrating for me due to arthritis. I would like a phone call instead of an email to resolve this issue.

To Whom It May Concern, I recently fell victim to a scam in which an individual posing as a government representative offered me financial aid. I was instructed to purchase a $50.00 Steam card from CVS and provide them with the card details through Messenger in exchange for a promised check. However, after complying with their demands, I was then asked for an additional $[redacted].00 before the check could be sent to me. I reached out to CVS immediately, and although they said they would investigate, they later informed me to contact you directly. Being on a fixed income and managing a chronic illness, I am in need of assistance. Is there a way I could recover the $50.00 that I lost in this scam? Thank you, - S. B. [redacted] [redacted]

I'm having difficulty updating my payment information while trying to purchase a game. Every time I attempt to do so, I encounter the error message: "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance." This issue occurs on both Paypal and Visa payment methods. I have followed the suggestion of waiting a minute and refreshing the Steam in-game overlay, but the error persists without any change. I am hopeful that I can resolve this problem soon to proceed with buying items from the Steam store.
