I recently purchased Sid Meier's Civilization V in-store, and the package only mentioned the need for a verified Steam account. However, I was frustrated to discover that a forced update of almost 2.5 gigabytes was required before playing. As someone who doesn't play online or engage in multiplayer, this extra download is unnecessary for me. I have limited internet data and can't afford to waste it on an update I don't need. If I can't bypass this update, I would prefer a cash refund over Steam credit, as I purchased the game with cash to begin with. It was misleading that the update requirement wasn't clearly stated on the package or in the License Agreement, causing me to reconsider my purchase. I hope this feedback reaches the appropriate channels to prevent such issues in the future. Thank you for your attention.

I recently fell victim to a scam involving purchases on Steam and topping up my Steam wallet. A hacker gained access to my friend's Facebook account and used it to request phone numbers, including mine, my dad's, and my mom's. The hacker posed as my friend and convinced me to reply to messages with specific codes, promising it wouldn't cost anything. Unfortunately, my actions resulted in a total phone bill charge of RM728 for all of us. This happened on June 29th from 6:30 pm onwards. I acknowledge my mistake in trusting the hacker. Is there any chance of receiving a refund, even if only partial? I am uncertain about the Steam account associated with this incident. Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This morning, when I tried to launch my long-standing game, House Flipper, it would abruptly crash after a few seconds. Even after several attempts, it kept kicking me out. I decided to restart my Lenovo Yoga [redacted], but it got stuck on the screen for about 10 minutes. After some troubleshooting by holding down the power button, I managed to reboot. However, upon reopening Steam, nothing would load. Lenovo Yoga tech support was contacted and, although I got some programs to open eventually, every time I launched Steam, multiple tabs with the name “C:/User/Branden” appeared. I have attempted restarting and shutting down my laptop, but the issue persists. This is completely new to me, and I'm concerned about possible account security risks. Any prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated! — Branden

I attempted to log into my Steam account using the password I created, but it kept denying it repeatedly. I am unable to login. I tried to have Steam email me a code, but then encountered an issue where I had to prove that I am human. I entered around 7 to 10 codes as they appeared, and was informed that I had failed too many times to proceed. Please find a solution to fix this. According to the printed code, I believe I should be able to type it as shown, without the stress of repeatedly redoing it when it looks the same.

I recently purchased the game 'House Flipper' on Steam under the account name 8_Nikki_8. However, upon playing, I encountered significant lag despite adjusting the settings. After attempting to enjoy the game for about 45 minutes, I realized it wasn't for me. When I discovered nearly 12 hours of recorded playtime the next day, surpassing the 2-hour refund limit, I was disheartened. Despite submitting two refund requests, I received the automated response declining my request due to exceeding the playtime limit. I was disappointed that my explanation seemed overlooked for the automated response. I remain hopeful that my situation can be reviewed by a person and that I can receive a refund, allowing me to invest in a game I can genuinely enjoy.

Today, I encountered an issue with Steam not launching properly. Despite reinstalling it, the update process closes, leaving me stuck. I attempted to adjust compatibility settings to Windows 7, but the problem persisted. My username is XxendlessgaminxX. Any assistance with resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help, and I am eager to hear from you soon. If additional information is needed, please let me know.

My Steam account has been compromised once again. Despite changing my password, it seems the hackers also gained access to my email account and made changes. My account name is now blanko44. I regret not enabling Steam Guard previously on June 23rd due to the inconvenience, but I ensured all security measures were updated. However, if they had control of my email, they could easily alter everything, as they have done. Here are my details: I am John Goldie residing at [redacted] Schooner Cove NW, Calgary, AB, T3L1Y8, Canada. My recent Steam purchases on July 10th include 2 DLC for Warhammer 2 Total War (Queen and Crone, and Shadow King) for $15.74 and $8.79 CAD consecutively, processed via Paypal. My email account should be [redacted], though it has been modified. My birthdate is Feb 24, [redacted]. I am in the process of updating all passwords on my devices and will activate Steam Guard once my account is restored.

I have lost access to my Steam account. Although I had my password written down, I am unable to locate the piece of paper. I suspect that the email associated with account recovery has been changed without my authorization. It seems urgent to regain control of MY ACCOUNT to prevent any potential password changes by the hacker. I would appreciate swift assistance in securing my account and allowing me to continue playing the game, as the password is auto-saved on my computer. Please act quickly but refrain from altering the password without my consent, as I prefer to make that decision. Thank you for helping me retrieve my password promptly.

Recently, my account has been targeted by a hacker trying to reset my password through my email. I changed my password to boost security, but the hacker managed to change the email associated with my Steam account, mmcvety, to their own. When I attempt to reset the password now, it only links to my son's account, joeymcvety. For verification purposes, my cell phone number is [redacted], and I have been a Steam user for years. The most recent game I bought was on February 18, [redacted], and I can confirm details if contacted. To communicate, please use a different email than [redacted]

I purchased $[redacted] worth of gift cards and encountered a potential fraud situation. The codes on the cards remain unscratched, and I possess receipts as proof of purchase. The individual involved, who I met at a public location like Subway, attempted to deceive me. She requested the Steam pin codes in advance, claiming that her boss needed to verify payment before proceeding with the sale of the clothes she had offered. After waiting for an hour with no resolution, I left. I retained both the gift cards and the receipts for my records.

Hello, I recently purchased the Dishonored Complete Collection with the expectation that it would include the content from Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider. Upon playing the games, I discovered that this content was missing. Despite my attempts to request a refund, the responses seem automated without addressing my concerns. I have sent an email and tried calling, only to receive automated replies and unhelpful redirection to a "support" service. I did leave a voicemail as instructed by the automated phone system, although it's my first time leaving a voicemail for such a number. I am hoping for a refund in steamwallet form, considering that a real dollar refund may be more complicated. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am reaching out regarding difficulties I encountered while attempting to redeem cash from three of my STEAM Cards. While three were successfully redeemed, the other three were found to have no funds. Uncertain if this issue lies with the Cards themselves or if the money has been removed from the account without authorization, I seek assistance. We don't maintain a STEAM Account. I am greatly disappointed as I spent $[redacted] on STEAM Cards, with only $[redacted] being redeemable. Kindly investigate this matter. Your help in resolving this is sincerely appreciated. I have the receipt and the three unredeemable STEAM Cards attached. Unfortunately, I faced issues attaching the documents here. Please provide me with an email address to forward them to. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, B.J. Muldoon

I believe my account was unfairly banned. Someone from your team accessed my account and changed my password, preventing me from logging in. The reason given for my ban was that I supposedly duped items, but all I did was give another player money through your platform. A trader, Frost, involved an admin named ahd-[redacted], who requested my credit card information to fix the items but never returned them. Due to my father and grandmother's skepticism, I got banned. My original account was bullmountainbob, but I changed it to Waluigi time. I request to be unbanned and to have my items restored as losing trading privileges seems disproportionate. I feel like my money was unfairly taken. Thank you for resolving this matter.

My 14-year-old son, Devon Rader, has a Steam account that we purchased for him years ago. He has recently been banned from playing the game "[redacted]% Orange Juice." I can confirm that he did not cheat, and any accusations must be substantiated with evidence. I request that you reinstate his access to the game promptly and provide me with specific details of the alleged misconduct backed by proof. Failure to do so will lead me to involve our legal representative and contact the Better Business Bureau. Account: devon_rader.

After just finishing a game of Slap City with my friends, I decided to browse my library when I came across a workshop item promising free knives in CSGO. Despite suspecting it was a scam, I clicked on it briefly. Later, I realized my account had been compromised with my password and email changed. Furthermore, I received an email stating my phone number had been removed from my account. Frustrated, I turned to Steam support and found the process to recover my account quite challenging and lacking proper assistance. I am now anxiously trying to regain access to my account before any further harm is done due to the difficulty in finding suitable Steam support.

Before continuing, I realized that the listed playtime for the game is inaccurate as the game continues running in the background each time I quit. I purchased Grand Theft Auto V for my laptop, but unfortunately, my AMD A9 graphics card is not suitable for running the game. When I bought it, I was not familiar with laptop specifications and PC gaming, and now I understand that GTA V cannot run on my Dell laptop. Despite trying mods to enhance performance, the frame rate remains low at around 7, and textures like roads and buildings disappear, making the game unplayable. I was ecstatic to receive a Steam card from my mom, and it was disheartening to realize the game wouldn't work. I've submitted my third refund request after previous denials.

My account is BombusX8, and I recently refunded two games: Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition and Outlast, each around $20. The refund was successful, but I used my expired card for the transaction. I am unable to access the funds. Could you please transfer the refunded amount to my new card ending in 38? I would greatly appreciate it, as I am eager to retrieve my money. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I hope this can be resolved promptly.

Hello, my name is Sudi. I unfortunately fell victim to a scam where I was asked to purchase $[redacted] worth of Steam cards and provide the scammers with the card numbers. Realizing it was a fraud, I contacted Walmart, where I bought the cards, but they could not refund me as the cards were already used. Walmart advised me to contact Steam, but I was unable to reach anyone and left a message with no response yet. To safeguard the funds, I created a Steam account. I am hoping to get a refund as I am uncertain how to utilize the money in the account.

I am requesting a refund for Monster Hunter World as the game does not run smoothly on my system. Despite spending hours troubleshooting with various methods and driver updates, the gameplay remains sluggish with broken frame rates. Steam's 2-hour troubleshooting limit seems overly restrictive for resolving technical issues of this magnitude. I have submitted multiple tickets, including one with ID HT-4P2V-R7GD-3XX4, to no avail. I am disappointed by the lack of personal attention and the seeming absence of a customer service supervisor for escalation. If a refund is denied, I plan to take my future business elsewhere. My substantial purchase history on Steam reflects my loyalty, but the customer service provided falls short. I hope to resolve this matter promptly for a positive gaming experience. I will share my feedback on social media and gaming forums to inform others of my experience.

My computer was recently hacked, prompting me to get a new device, email address, and contact information. Despite attempting to seek help through customer support, I encountered difficulties due to an invalid passcode provided. The only proof I have of the incident is an order confirmation email which was sent to "[redacted]" The details of the order include an Order Number: [redacted][redacted] for Civilization III Complete Edition priced at $4.99. The email also provided a download code and instructions for redeeming it on Steam. The billing address associated with the order is Peter Galvin at [redacted] Creek Knoll Rd, Eden Prairie, MN [redacted]. The shipping address was for digital delivery, and payment was made via Visa ending in [redacted]. It is crucial for me to regain control of my account which used the credentials "pgalvin2" and a redacted password.
