My first and only experience at Steak and Shake was so upsetting and unprofessional that I don't believe I will ever go to ANY location ever again (I went to **** Linton Blvd, Delray Beach, FL *****). The entire midnight shift is hostile and unprofessional. The waiter could not get my party's order correct and kept forgetting items. The wait time was almost an hour long. No one in the kitchen was wearing a hair net and employees were constantly walking in and out of it arguing and cursing at one another. Once it was time to pay the waiter kept confusing who paid for what (and understandably so because we all ordered for food to eat and food to go), however in the midst of all of this he forgot to tell the cooks my to-go order which made his fellow employees believe I was trying to get free food (even though I had just finished paying and the gentleman had my receipt in his hand and never gave it to me even though I requested it). One of his employees forced him to go wait on tables while she finished our transactions and when I asked about the food that I had not received she was so abrupt and rude I had to go outside and calm down. When I went outside I ate the whipped cream off of my shake and soon discovered that there was hair in my shake (It must have fallen off of an employee before they put on the whipped cream and cherry) and because of the tension and hostile environment I did not report it (I was afraid of being verbally attacked). Soon after I stepped outside other members of my party began to tell me that she accused me of not paying for my meal and claiming that I was stealing (the employee forced her to go outside to check and see if I had any food on me). When I approached the door both the employee and the MANAGER were sitting inside watching me and LAUGHING because I was visibly upset. By this time my temper was flaring but I was reminded by my party that the employees were clearly unprofessional and would not listen to anything I had to say so I left your establishment CRYING. I waited patiently for my food, was patient throughout the mix-up with the food when they were cooked, ignored the loud, profane language the staff was using while my party was trying to enjoy my meal, and remained respectful even after I paid and was accused of stealing food (No one consulted the person who processed my order). As someone who genuinely enjoyed the food, it was both an insult and a shock to have such an ordeal and I refuse to invest in this establishment (in any location) ever again.
