SCAM ALERT! -- Saturday, June *, **** @ Noon -- Saw a Spotify charge on my monthly bank stmt - with the following Spotify phone number listed as ***-***-****. I called the number to cancel. I got a recording saying the Spotify * had changed but that I should click ** to get a $*** gift certificate for Spotify customers. I clicked it and got a man with a foreign accent who began telling me about the $*** gift cerfiticate promotion. He began asking me to "confirm" financial information - which I asked - don't you already have this? He said I needed to "confirm it. So I foolishly gave him my credit card number, my address, my * digit code on the back, my expiration date. Then he told me he had charged my account $*.** in order to receive the $*** gift certificate and that I was now signed up for a $**.** monthly charge for something I could opt out of if I didn't want it. Each time I asked him when he was going to cancel my Spotify account - he got very angry and said I wasn't listening to him - and that he needed to complete my "gift card" data which included him asking me all sorts of person questions like whether my home was an apartment or a house, if I was married, etc. I hung up on him and immediately called my bank and blocked my card. When I called the Spotify number back - I got a recording that said I was calling outside of business hours. Then I went online and saw there is no Spotify phone number.
GetHuman-staceyab did not yet indicate what Spotify should do to make this right.
