We encountered an extreme problem flying home on our scheduled flight sat oct **th from ft Myers(RSW) to Cleveland!(CLE)!! The flight was scheduled to leave ft Myers at *pm with the updates on the flight stating "on time"-getting to the airport * hrs prior and through security, we were informed less than a hr before that a first officer called off sick??? What is that all about?? Anyway, the flight was delayed till *pm, to fly in an officer from Atlanta? So only food vouchers of $** each(my husband and me) we issued? Returning back to the gate to board after dinner( cost $**) , we were told the flight was delayed till *am, waiting for a while, we were told that it was going to be cancelled all together!! So we took the gate attendants advice and got scheduled on a *** am flight the next day , on sun oct**, out of Tampa!! We had to rent a car, which cost us $***, drive * hrs(after a very long day and evening-sitting at the ft Myers airport), then book a room overnight $***(of which the Tampa Marriot closest to the airport was full-had to search for another near by hotel in the vicinity)! Then, the next morning the flight out of Tampa to Cleveland was also delayed by ** min?? We are profusely dissatisfied with this type customer service, and request compensation for our time, money, and disruption of our plans!!! This was our first time flying with spirit airlines and we are very disappointed!! Not to mention the nickel and dime add ons to seat assignments and baggage fees??? Please address this major issue with us and return a timely response as to your resolution!! Steve & Sharon Shivak
