The issue in GetHuman-tkemery's own words
My family and I relocated from Atlanta, GA to Florida. It was a job transfer with my company. The relocation came up unexpectedly and the move needed to be made quickly. We had to sell our home in Georgia, purchase a home in Florida and move the household in ** days. We were able to find a new construction home in Wimauma, FL that almost completed and would be available by the time we needed to close and move in. We were not involved in the planning of the home construction, as we would have been if time was on our side. I say this to highlight that we had no input into installation of the cable outlets in the home. **Once moved in, we made arrangements to do business with Spectrum. When I made the appointment, I advised them that, in addition to the outlet in the living room, the master bedroom had the outlet, but there were three other bedrooms we wanted to have an outlet in. I was advised that would not be an issue. The technician came to the house. He said the he could not put an outlet in any room that did not have an outlet already as they have to be installed during construction. This made no sense to me. But I called customer service that evening. They told me the same thing, but said that I could purchase a smart TV with Vudu installed and we could stream via the Spectrum app. I did that so that my father could have TV service. **He was gifted a new TV my one of my siblings. It was a smart TV with Vudu. We set it up, but could not the Spectrum app to work. We called customer service TWICE, only to be told that Vudu is what was preventing the app from working. We needed a TV without Vudu. I advised them that is opposite of what we were told previously, but they only responded that we were given bad information. So his new TV sits unused in another bedroom.**Additionally, I have called in more than once to advise that our internet connection is slow and drop off intermittently. Not only is this troublesome while on the internet, it affects using Spectrum streaming and, more importantly, it caused the landlink that we have for internet telephone service. Again, this is a concern as my ** year-old father who lives with us, while in good health, needs to have phone service when he is home alone, as it causes any incoming call to go straight to voicemail.**We have family that is coming to stay with us for an indefinite period as the transition to Florida. I need to have outlets in all three bedrooms upstairs. I find it difficult to believe, as does many that I have talked to, that outlets can only be installed during new construction. So if I buy a home that was built sometime back, I cannot get service? Obviously satellite would have to be the next choice if we are unable to get the service that we need from Spectrum.
