I reside in Wyoming and have never paid taxes to South Carolina. On January 23, an unexpected deposit of $[redacted].00 labeled as SC STATE TREASUR TAX EFT R[redacted][redacted] GARY HUEBNER appeared in my checking account. After contacting both the South Carolina Treasury and the Department of Revenue, it was determined that the deposit was made in error. Subsequently, my bank initiated a refund request on January 29. Despite this, $[redacted] was withdrawn from my account, reflecting a RES. RKE TEMP MEMO DEBIT, UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT of $[redacted].00, and SC STATE TREASUR HIST RTN [redacted] R[redacted] with the same amount. I have reported the issue to my bank, and they have advised me to contact the relevant department for assistance. However, my attempts to resolve the matter with the Department of Revenue proved unfruitful as I encountered unhelpful representatives. No one has reached out to me from either department regarding this situation, leaving me unsure of how to proceed and seeking a resolution to this mishap.

I recently received a tax bill for a [redacted] Lexus with the VIN [redacted] and Tag HV22203. The bill was addressed only to my wife, but both our names are on the sales and title paperwork submitted. The tags were transferred from our previous vehicles, which had both our names on them. Despite being a [redacted]% disabled veteran and previously approved, I have been struggling to correct this with the Department of Revenue. In the DMV system, both of us are listed. I have made inquiries and phone calls without success due to COVID-19. I kindly request that my name is added to the appropriate tax bill as I was on the paperwork before. - Paul Bethea, Jr.
