I played a DVD on my Blu-Ray Disc*DVD Player Model BDP-S**** (serial * *******). I ejected one disc and put in another. *I then received a message requiring a software update. I could not bypass the message. I clicked ok on the update. After more than an hour, it updated. Then the Blue-Ray DVD player no longer worked. I would get a message for any DVD I inserted that said, "Unable to play this disc. Check that the disc can be played by this unit and there are no scratches or fingerprints on the disc. The disc might not be finalized."*The discs all worked in the model prior to Sony's update. Please send out a patch for this messed up update. **When I called tech support, Bruce told me he could do nothing for me. Very unhelpful. I hung up. Called back immediately and spoke with Justin. He proved incredibly helpful. He walked me through set-up and tried various methods to fix the problem. When that failed, he said he would call me back after checking some other methods. *Justine did call back and let me know I would need to send a copy of the receipt at which time I would receive instructions to return the machine to Sony. *I purchased the equipment from Best Buy with an extended warranty. I will return it for a replacement there. *Thank you.
GetHuman-pdtravel did not yet indicate what Sony should do to make this right.
