SKYPE is running a racket - couldn't sign in and couldn't cancel subscription renewal done without warning.

Tried to cancel auto renewal of SKYE phone number never even used. Program would not let me sign in for days. Finally found a blog which said i needed to install a major update to replace the old one. ... I have been unable to sign in to SKYPE for a long time even though I changed my password repeatedly and used different E-mail addresses to try to resolve the problem. I FINALLY discovered TODAY via a Blog I found on Google that it needed a MAJOR UPDATE first - even though no such notice was ever sent out. I even found this page via Google only. I was charged an automatic renewal for my Skype phone number on ** MAY - with no advanced warning - even though this is something I have never even used. I TRIED for DAYS to sign in to cancel right away starting on the renewal date of transaction ** MAY - I only succeeded ONE TIME on ** MAY (no idea why it worked ONCE and never again) and never again until today ** MAY. I also could never contact ANY HELP from SKYPE to resolve this issue. I removed my credit card information on ** MAY while the charge was still "pending" and canceled the subscription renewal but was advised it would only cancel NEXT YEAR on ** MAY **** - for something I have never used and got no warning of this renewal or of the program update. But now I see that the charge was manually entered on ** MAY on my credit card account - which I am now disputing since I cannot get any help or relief from SKYPE. I am appalled that the auto renewal gave NO heads up and feels like TRAP with no out. If I cannot get this charge removed, I will remove SKYPE altogether for both me and my husband and post my experience Facebook, etc. As several friends mentioned while I tried to deal with this for nearly * weeks, no one needs Skype any longer since FB messaging and other programs accomplish all that is needed without having to sign in.
I will use social media to the max if this is not resolved. This felt like a trap and scam - no warning of auto renewal and unable to cancel on same day due to their unannounced major program change.
I only want the $** credited back to my credit card - which I removed from my SKYPE account while trying to stop the pending charge since I had NO WAY to CONTACT them. SKYPE give NO customer service. I saw requests for * items on the main page here but saw no way to provide those and not sure they should be given if it would show publicly: Items Needed: Name, Billing address, Email Address * Password --- who will see this? Why would I give out my password to anyone, anyway?
We have had SKYPE for many years but I am sure ready to dump and tell the world why.
I may try to re-list the credit card on my account in case that is holding up crediting back the $**. They also have my E-mail address and SHOULD use that to communicate - but nothing but crickets from them so far.
