The issue in GetHuman-dmys's own words
We have been Shaw cusomers from the start, more than ** years at least, never missed a bill payment. But the covid-** pandemic is causing incredible challenges for your customers and like many others, we are doing our best to continue to pay our bills but struggling. That's why we recently discontinued our Shaw home phone service along with cutting other monthly expenses as well. **Our attention and focus these past weeks has been entirely on just getting by and trying to avoid the virus...but in the midst of the pandemic crisis unfolding all around us I forgot to return the Shaw telephone equipment. For this oversight, I notice on our most recent bill Shaw has added a $** penalty charge for the unreturned equipment. In a normal world, in normal circumstances that might be justified...but nothing is normal these days! I do not think the penalty charge is reasonable or appropriate right now. All these years as a Shaw customer and not even a courtesy email*text*phone call reminder before levying the penalty charge? Given the extraordinary circumstances and our long standing history as a good Shaw customer I would like the penalty charge reversed*removed. Thank you.
