I have a Navigator Professional Model*NV***. I purchased it about a year and a half ago. I clean my vacuum about once a month, to get hair, string, and carpet strands out of the brush, clean the filters, etc.... I just did all that after the last time I used it. So yesterday I got it out and started vacuuming my bedroom, and caught the edge of a rug. It shut off like it was supposed to, and I pulled it out, and checked the brush, there was a couple strand of hair so I pulled them out while I was looking. I started vacuuming again I pushed it up, pulled it back, and when I started to push it forward again it started making a loud, noise, like metal on metal, grinding, or like something was wrapped around the brush and flapping with every turn. I shut it off immediately, and looked again, thinking I missed something like a hair tie, or something. I used a flashlight, butI couldn't see anything. When my boyfriend got home from work. He's a mechanic so he knows how motors and stuff like that work. I told him about it, and he checked it out. When he turned it on and started sweeping it didn't do it at first, so I thought maybe I did miss something and me turning it and checking it out it came loose or fell out when I carried it down the step. He shut it off, turned it back on,started sweeping again and it did it again. He said he thinks it's what turns the brush not the motor, but the bearings or belt drive or whatever it is. Are worn out already or need oiled. Since there is a * year warranty on it, I told him I would contact you first before he tears it apart. So I dont know if that falls under the warranty or not but from what I read, it has a lifetime belt and filter system that should never need replaced. Replacing the motorized floor nozzle would fix the problem. Since the belt is supposed to last the lifetime of the vacuum. Unless you have another solution. Thanks
