To Whom It May Concern:*My name is Mary Olds and I have been a member of Sams Club for many years. I have never had an issue with anyone at the club but recently my niece, Cristy McPherson, has had a very unpleasant experience. First of all the Sam's Club in question is store ***** located on New Circle Rd. in Lexington, Ky. My niece lives in Richmond, Ky. and I have convinced her that it would be a good membership for her to have as she has three children and a husband to take care of. She had shopped there with me and decided that she would buy the membership and has had it for a couple of months now. Recently she placed a birthday cake order for her six year old daughter at store number ***** by calling ***-****. She ordered the cake and was told to pick it up on May *, ****. When she drove the ** minutes to the club, she was told that her cake was not at *****, it was actually at the Nicholasville , Ky. store. She said that she ordered the cake from store number ***** on New Circle Rd. in Lexington, Ky. The manager, Mr. Bill Lacey, who treated my niece very rudely, told her if they made her a birthday cake right then that there would be a ** minute wait and that she would not ever be allowed to order another cake from them. My niece was near tears when she left choosing to drive to Nicholasville, Ky which is where they told her the cake was at. Not understanding how her order ended up in the Nicholasville Ky. club, she arrived at the Nicholasville club and they had an order for her of a birthday cake. She was so disappointed with the cake because it was a half sheet size and the edible image looked as though it had been thrown on the cake as it was very wrinkled and there was a crack in it which was very obvious. My niece told me that the people at that club treated her a lot nicer and an employee of the club gave her a ten dollar gift card for her trouble. She appreciated the gesture but was still upset that the experience with this cake order had been so negative and was still upset with how Mr. Lacey had talked to her. I just wanted to let someone know about her experience and the fact that she would never order another cake at store ***** if the bakery manager had to stop and have her a cake made right then. The two birthday cakes that she had ordered previously, one in March for her ** year old son and the other in April for her ** year old daughter were very nice. I have to wonder if Mr. Lacey makes a habit of the mistreatment of other customers the way he did my niece. Also Mr Lacey's superior was involved in this incident but the woman named Jessica, which is the only name that my niece got, decided to side with Mr. Lacey. I truly hope that this treatment my niece endured doesn't cause her to withdraw her membership although I would understand if she made that decision. Thank you for your time to read about this experience and hopefully have an acceptable solution for it.
