Figure out why the service was suspended. Safelink could not even agree that it WAS suspended. I had to call DHS myself after the abysmally rude attempt at chatting with Safelink CS. ... My service was suspended. When I finally reached CS, they informed me that I needed to recertify. When I clicked 'recertify', on the website, a message popped up telling me that I didn't need to, and had * months to go before my next recertification.
It's my sole connection to the outside world. It's impossible to get ANYWHERE without a phone. Appointments can't be scheduled, employment cannot be attained, and tow trucks can't be requested should one break down in the middle of nowhere. Not even *** is reliable on a suspended phone account (despite the insistence of the opposite). Not having a phone is actually dangerous. A little forewarning would have produced a very different outcome. Safelink loves taking taxpayers money for providing Lifeline, but does little for Lifeline customers.
I gave up. I bought a regular prepaid phone that I really can't afford. I'll struggle to keep minutes on it until I can qualify for Lifeline, at which time I'll go with Assurance.
Two years, without a problem.
I considered witchcraft and hiring thugs, but ultimately decided not to go that route. I'll have to settle with cursing Safelink until I die.
