We are seeking compensation for the expenses we incurred due to our flight being cancelled.*Our return flight from Marseille to Edinburgh was cancelled due to industrial action and I was told the next available flight from Mrs to Edi was * days later. This was too long to wait as my partner needed to visit his mother who was unwell and also needed to be back at work. We were then told the only other flight they could offer us was ** hours later but it would only take us to London Stanstead and there were only two seats on that flight left, so would need an immediate answer. Given the circumstances, this was the better of the two options so we accepted this flight. We then had to arrange and pay for our own hotel accommodation as the flight was not for another ** hours, had to pay for the cost of food and refreshments because of the delay (we were not offered any vouchers of any sorts). We also had the additional expense of getting back to Edinburgh from London Stanstead, so had to arrange and pay for additional flights. On arriving at Edinburgh we then had the additional charge to pay for overstaying at the secure airport car park before our car was released to us so we could drive home.*We are looking to be compensated for all of the additional expenses we incurred because of our cancelled flight. We have retained all of our receipts for the expenses mentioned above and have no problem at all making them available to yourselves to support our claim.
GetHuman-choyling did not yet indicate what Ryanair should do to make this right.
I have called Ryanair Customer Services * times and have spoken to * different Customer Service Advisors who have each acknowledged that they have receipt of our submitted claim, but that no-one has looked at it yet and that the only thing they can do is 'escalate' it. This has now been escalated * times. The first call I made, I was advised I would hear back from them in * working days - nothing happened. The second call I made, I was advised I would hear back from them in * working days - nothing happened. The third call I made, I was advised I would hear back from them in ** hours - that was * days ago and I still have not heard anything.
