Last November I received notice that the trash collection services for Republic would mote than double in the next billing period. I immediately called the customer contact number listed on the billing statement. I challenged the rate increase with he Republic representative and was told that not only was the hew charge of almost $*** correct for my once a week pickup service, I should also expect to see another rate hike later on in **** with new rates going in to effect. With that additional information I told her to then cancel my service at the end of November before the new rate was to go into effect. She said she would do that, put me on hold while she updated records and then came back to let me know that the service was terminated and there would be a charge to recover the trash containers.* U told her that the containers could be recovered at any time but I would not agree to a $** charge for the containers to be hauled away. ( In fact, the trash and recycle containers came with the property when we bought the house in **** and still have the Allied Waste markings. After *** years they are worthless on the books of Republic Services. ) The two bins continue to sit beside the garage awaiting recovery by Republic. They have been sitting there for over two month now.*I did not hear from Republic again until the *th of February when I received a Final Notice telling me that "Despite several previous written notices your account remains seriously past due". This was the first time since November that any correspondence from Republic had been received by me. I had not been contacted in any manner since the call described above when service was cancelled at the end of November. I again called *** *** **** at *:** pm on ******** . I spoke with Anna and explained the reason for my call and the background conversations. Anna tried to forward my call to another agence in Republic Services but was unable to get a response. She wrote up the notes from our conversation and provided me with confirmation *********. I was told someone would get back to me in the next ** hours. I am still awaiting a response.**Finally, last Friday my wife had a message on her phone warning her that Republic Services would be terminated soon if the billing remained outstanding.
