This may be a bit long but it is necessary to detail why our account was delinquent. I received an email that said our account was past due. I have gotten many spam emails from Amazon, Paypal and Chase credit services and they all say to go into my account and check to see if there is a message from that account and check to see if there is any unusual activity. If not then forward message to their spam department and delete the message immediately. When I got this notice I went in and checked the account and there were no charges or messages, so I deleted it. Then I got a phone call, and as with the emails, I get many call on my phone that are spam also. I again went into my account and there was still nothing there, so I deleted the voice mail. Then last week I went in to check my credit score and it had dropped from **** to ***. I was in shock because we have never had a late payment and my credit score is very important to me, especially now when we are going to refinance our house. I traced the negative report to RCI for past due payment of over *** days. I again did some research and discovered it was from a charge of automatic renewal of our RCI account. I have almost all our payments on automatic payment and everything except one comes from our checking and savings account. For some reason I had this one put on our RCI credit card and did not realize that it was on there, because I never charge anything on that card. I went into the account again and there were no charges or messages. Then I saw this thing up top that said check all accounts, so I clicked on that and realized that Wyndham rewards was Barclays also. This credit card was issued when we bought a time share in VA last year in March or April, but we cancelled the time share in less than a week, and we thought they also cancelled the credit card, because we never activated them. To make a long story short they added that card to our Barclays account and I never realized that when I was going into our RCI account, I was actually seeing that cards information. I didn't realize there was * accounts on the Barclays account. So when I went to check on our RCI account, I was seeing the Wyndham account, not RCI. I would never have not paid this, if I had known that. I know it is my stupidity for not checking further when I got those notices, but it never occurred to me that I wasn't seeing RCI information. I know I should have checked the last * digits of the card but I never even thought to. As I said before my credit is very important to me, as I have kept it over *** for many, many years. This negative mark on it will greatly affect my chances of getting a refinance or anything else I buy for * years. I am pleading with you to please remove this. I will never make that mistake again, and if you check my report, you will see that nothing like this has ever happened before and my payments have always been on time.
