Help with my QuickBooks issue

When I try to open QB Pro **** Desktop, I get the “no company open” window. I choose company to open, it thinks about it for ** seconds or so, then I get error message -****.* “cannot connect to server.” As suggested there I’ve run the QB File Dr, but it won’t complete. Then everything freezes, I can’t open any other program or “restart” my computer. Must do a hard restart. I run Windows **. QB program ran fine until ****. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling QB and uninstalling and reinstalling McAfee. I run QB in single user format. I also tried restoring a backup copy of my company file and I couldn’t do that either. Online forums have beeen of no help. How can I fix this.

The problem is with McAfee. I uninstalled the McAfee program and my QuickBooks program opened normally.
