Account holder name, Account number (if applicable), Email address on the account, and Billing address

I am currently using **** QB, I purchased **** version and would like to upgrade, but due to the fact that I had a few employees turn over, one of my company file, when copied, is only on read. Can I still upgrade the software without affecting my QB data files for that company?**I do not know the what was used as the administrator passcode and QB cannot find it when the license is inputted.**Please advise
