Bob Christie *Date:********To: Todd Sloane-Webmaster*Prize Patrol**cc:*Deborah Holland-VP Publishers Clearing House*BBB Better Business Bureau (pending)*FTC Federal Trade Commission (pending)**Issue:*I'm a customer of Publishers Clearing House (PCH) and a participant in their online sweepstakes. The following narrative attempts to briefly explain what and why of my complaint. **PCH ranks me at the Presidential level for customer loyalty, their highest ranking. Meaning, I buy a lot of their online products. I also have their highest ranking as a VIP Elite which rewards online activity*engagement paticularly when using the PCH APP. Even with those customer rankings in mind, I'm still harassed and coerced to purchase additional products every time I visit the site. If I don't purchase anything, the webmaster Mr. Todd Sloane routes all my significate sweepstake entries through PCH's online catalog. When I get to the end of the catalog, if I don't have any purchases listed, a red flag goes up. Mr Todd Sloane then grays out the enter button which is used both to conclude the purchasing transaction and the entry into a sweepstake. Since the purchasing transaction is left open, I'm unable to process my entry, effectively quashing my ability to submit sweepstake entries unimpeded. Submission of these entries are both how you gain access to sweepstakes and a means to increase your odds of winning sweepstakes. **Why does Mr Sloane do this? Because, I wouldn't buy something I neither needed nor wanted. The requirement to pay for play at PCH is real and is used aggressively. Following the latest episode Saturday ******, I am locked out of the whole PCH site. I thought now would be a dandy time to escalate my issue and see if this is how PCH wants to run their evolving digital business.*Lately, as Mr Todd Sloane's conduct toward me began to deteriorate, I started saving backup of official communications concerning incidents I spoke about above. **Resolution:*I'd like PCH to honor the amount and frequency of purchases required to maintain ranking levels. I'd like them to accept their level of purchases without constantly coercing more purchases. The harassment and various tricks such as misrepresenting facts about how purchases will increase the customers chances of winning are not acceptable business practices. I think it would be better for all concerned to "play nice". **You are probably thinking, why don't I just buzz off, go somewhere else. That's a good question. My response to that question is* I have put a lot of time and energy into the PCH sweepstakes and I don't want to waste that time if a better solution is possible. Besides, I might win.
