Help with my Postmates.com issue

I placed an order with steak n shake and was informed that they didnt have an item I ordered, I replaced it with another item. I was then contacted again and told they didnt have the replacement item I and another item that was in my order. I then requested to cancel the order due to not having half the items I ordered and was told by the post mate driver that If I cancel I would still be charged since it was already picked up. I've ordered from postmates plenty of times and never had this issue. I cancelled the order and want to know why I'm being charged for the mistake of either the driver or employee at steak n shake for releasing my order (steak n shake employee) or for picking it up (driver) before contacting me and telling me that they didnt have half of my order. The driver let me no that it was only her second day fleeting and was possibly her mistake for picking it up before calling me which I'm not upset about (mistakes happen) I just want to no why I'm being charged for someone else's mistake?
