The issue in GetHuman-slimebal's own words
I fell asleep while the system was on. ... I was playing on my PS* and everything was great, and played until I fell asleep. Unfortunately I awoke to what appeared to be a "bricked" system. But that's isn't the issue I'm here about.**When a game is active and the system goes into Rest Mode automatically, the game continues to run which is great.*BUT if a System Update releases while a game is active and the system goes into Rest Mode automatically, the game that was active gets corrupted*uninstalled.**This is a major oversight in my opinion, and reflects very poorly on your reputation as a company for not realizing that this could even be a possibility...**I'm very upset because the game that was forcefully uninstalled had a very large file size, meaning I have to wait for it to reinstall before I can use the internet in my house again.**I'm not sure how the software or firmware works, so I have no input on what steps to take to fix this. I leave that to you.
When a game is running, a system update releases and starts downloading and the system goes into Rest Mode automatically the game that was running gets corrupted*uninstalled.*This has caused me great frustration as I try to figure out as much information as I can.
Maybe make it so that if a game is running while the auto-shutdown timer is running down and a system update comes out, it force-quits the game so this error doesn't occur again.*I'd very much rather redownload an minor update for a game, than have to redownload the entire game all over again.
I have been a customer of Sony products for as long as I can remember.*In fact, the first Playstation was one of my favorites.
There is nothing else I can do but wait for it to resolve itself.
