I am a nursing home employee who got suspended on the 12th. During care for a resident who was incontinent of urine, I noticed a skin tear after she became combative. I reported the incident to the nurse and she examined the resident. Another CNA claimed to have overheard concerning things but did not enter the room. My Director of Nursing reassured me that I did nothing wrong and made changes to have two people present for all the resident's care. The resident with dementia accused me of assaulting her in a park at 8:30 am, which cannot be true as she needs assistance to walk and is on a locked unit with various safety alarms. The DON found the accusation amusing. Working in the dementia wing requires me to redirect residents and ensure their safety. I was in the process of receiving FMLA for my daughter when I was fired before submitting the paperwork due to scheduling issues. This situation has tarnished my reputation and may impact my future career aspirations.

I submitted my application on June 10th and recently received a letter along with a debit card. I set my pin as instructed. My former boss, Melvin Jay McIntyre from MJ MAC INC in Harboro, PA, confirmed he wouldn't contest my unemployment. I also received an approval letter stating I'd receive benefits on the card until my direct deposit begins. This is my first time dealing with this process, and upon checking my status online, I found an issue that instructs me to continue filing bi-weekly claims. I just realized I was supposed to call in from June 25 to June 29 for my first bi-weekly claim, which I missed. Despite trying to file online and over the phone, I can't due to the ongoing issue. I updated my claim on July 1st, and it now mentions I'll receive a letter with a new pin and need to call between July 16 to July 20, hinting at needing to start over. I've been unemployed since June 8th, [redacted]. My approval letter states "AB," but I'm unsure of its significance. I appreciate any assistance. My details are as follows: Name: Tim Healy DOB: 09/09/[redacted] Address: [redacted] Morning Glory Rd, Phila, PA [redacted] Phone: [redacted]

I missed the first call-in from June 25 to June 29th. Despite trying online and over the phone, I can't file due to the issue. I updated my claim on July 1st, but now it seems I have to restart the process, with a new call-in date from July 16 to July 20th. The letter says I am "AB," unclear what that means. My wife was unemployed from November [redacted] until February 19th, [redacted] and recently lost her job again. She applied for unemployment benefits but was denied. I'm concerned because the paperwork from PA UC only shows her earnings from the first quarter of [redacted] and not the higher earnings in the second quarter. Is Linda eligible for UC benefits based on her 27-week work history and earnings of $24,[redacted], with $11,[redacted] in her highest quarter this year? Also, she applied online by reopening her old claim on August 20, [redacted], after receiving a letter from PA UC in February [redacted] about her claim ending. Did this affect her denial? She has now submitted a new claim online to PA UC. Any help or advice on whom she should contact to resolve this issue would be appreciated. Thank you, Robert M. Ashby.

I have a question about my appeal regarding my PA UI claim denial. I lost my job in PA two weeks ago after working there for six months and applied for unemployment. I was denied due to not earning enough within my base year (July [redacted] to June [redacted]) since I started the job in April [redacted]. Previously, I received UI benefits in NJ from January [redacted] to March [redacted] after being laid off from a NJ job where I worked from July [redacted] to January [redacted]. I am wondering if the income from my NJ benefits and previous NJ job will count as earnings for my current base year in PA. I have been having trouble reaching the helpline at [redacted]; the line has been consistently busy despite multiple attempts. It is crucial to resolve this issue promptly given my unique circumstances and ongoing custody dispute.

I spoke to the examiner, and she made a mistake with my file. Everyone else who got laid off, including 28 people, can file on the 4th, but I have to wait until the 11th. Due to her miscalculation, I have an extra waiting week. My last workday was 10/18, but I can't file until 11/11. I haven't received the UC debit card or an account. They mentioned direct deposit might be set up, or I might receive a paper check by the week's end. It doesn't seem fair that I'm the only one facing delays due to an error. I'm 27 with a wife and 3 kids, the main provider. Without my money, we risk losing everything.

I submitted a claim on 11/20/[redacted] and received a confirmation email promising a packet in the mail within 12 business days. Despite repeated attempts to contact the provided number, I encountered constant busy signals. On 12/03/[redacted], after receiving another confirmation email, the UC site stated I could file my first biweekly claim on 12/16/[redacted]. However, upon trying to file the claim on the site, it indicated that I had no open or pending claims. Frustratingly, I have not been able to claim compensation since 11/20/[redacted], even though my employer contributes significantly to UC for this purpose. Best regards, G. Hadley

I was recently denied UC benefits due to a gap in my work schedule caused by sustaining injuries in a car accident while biking to work. The accident occurred on October 21st, [redacted] at 7:05 a.m., leading to difficulties in performing my job duties upon my return to work. Despite intermittent work periods, my doctor provided recommendations to avoid work due to my injuries. I have received a determination from UC stating I do not qualify for benefits, and I am seeking to appeal this decision. Best regards, Christopher Stepp.

I have been trying to contact the PA Unemployment office with no luck. The phone lines are mostly busy signals, and when I do get through, the wait times are over 3 hours, only to be disconnected. Even after scheduling a call back a week later, I received an automated message 3 hours after the scheduled time saying they couldn't call back. It's frustrating as I have contributed for over 40 years and never claimed before. I'm at a loss on what to do next.

I am feeling very frustrated. I submitted my initial claim, but there seems to be an issue to resolve. Sadly, I haven't been able to connect with a representative to clarify it. I got a voicemail on Friday, 7/5 from [redacted] ext [redacted], but the caller didn't provide a name. They requested a call back before 7/9, indicating a decision would be made without my input if they didn't hear from me. I returned the call on 7/5 and left a message. Despite leaving messages on 7/8, 7/9, and today, 7/10, I haven't received a response. I also tried reaching out at [redacted], but it's always busy. I respect the busy schedule but expect the common courtesy of a callback. How else can I proceed? Thank you for any guidance.

Name: Melissa F. Filing Date: 7/8/19, 2:01:37 a.m. I received an email confirming my claim had been received, but have not received any mail with my pin or the amounts I am eligible for. I am currently on summer break from my job at a school. I initially filed on June 9, but was denied due to insufficient income. I reapplied on July 8 as advised to do so at the beginning of a new quarter. Could you please inform me when I will receive my eligibility amount and first check? I have a return to work date of August 19, so as per the handbook, I should only need to complete the registration online at career link, for which I have a completion letter. Kindly reach out to me soon, as I need to inform my bill providers about my payment timeline. Thank you.

Hello, I applied for unemployment about five years ago and am familiar with the process. Recently, I lost my job due to downsizing and have applied for unemployment again. I received my PIN and biweekly claim filing instructions. However, this time, I received an additional form requesting information about my involvement in our nonprofit's management. The form mentions responsibilities such as hiring and firing, making policy decisions, issuing checks, and overseeing daily operations. I didn't receive this form during my previous unemployment claim and it is concerning me. Does my eligibility for unemployment benefits depend on whether I had these management duties? I paid unemployment taxes as an employee like everyone else and aim to find a new job quickly. I rely on unemployment benefits while job hunting. Receiving this form has made me anxious, and I would appreciate clarification. Thank you. - Craig G., [redacted] Hill Church Rd, Annville, PA [redacted]. [redacted] Form number: [redacted].

I checked my claim status, and it says it's under appeal, even though I already had my hearing. I spoke to two representatives and attended my fair hearing on October 31. After that, Teresa reopened my case and instructed me on when to file. I did file, but I haven't received any payments. Now, it's showing that my claim is under appeal, and I need to speak to a representative again. This situation has been ongoing since August, and I still haven't received any payments. I would like to understand what is happening.

I recently received a notice of determination that was later canceled for further review. I have already provided my social security card and work permit details as requested. Could you please inform me about the timeline for receiving my benefits and confirm the direct deposit account on file, in case it needs updating? Thank you, D.E. [redacted] [redacted]

A month ago, I faced login issues with my account and needed my PIN sent via mail. During that process, I was informed that my claim had been reopened for me. After three weeks of waiting, I finally received my PIN by mail. When I tried to file my biweekly claim, the website prompted me to reopen my claim again. This whole situation is very frustrating as I have been unemployed since September, caring for my infant without any financial support.

I recently received a letter from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania stating that I was overpaid while drawing benefits. This situation seems impossible as now they are withholding the money, leaving me unable to access my almost $11,[redacted] in my account. I am currently unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. I wonder if they can deduct the alleged debt from the balance in my unemployment account to resolve this issue. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - J.D. Grimes

Subject: Request for Waiving Penalty for UC Account #[redacted] for India Blake Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to address the late filing penalty and interest charged on the third and fourth quarter [redacted] reports for India Blake’s UC Account #[redacted], as indicated in the September 9, [redacted] statement. We have already mailed a check for the $7.36 interest on October 1, along with a written request for the withdrawal of the penalties, but have not received any response. We kindly urge you to consider waiving the penalty totaling $[redacted] due to the circumstances surrounding this issue. India Blake utilizes Paychex for payroll preparations and tax filings, assuming they would handle the UC account application as well. It was only discovered in January [redacted] that the account had not been opened, leading us to promptly rectify the situation and commence timely filings and payments thereafter. Your understanding and cooperation in waiving these penalty fees for the initial UC reports would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, K. Gomez

RE: UC Account #[redacted] I am writing regarding the late filing penalty and interest assessed on India Blake's UC Account #[redacted] for the third and fourth quarter [redacted] reports, as indicated on the September 9, [redacted] statement. On October 1, we sent a check for the $7.36 interest and a letter requesting the $[redacted] penalty be waived due to the following circumstances: India Blake relies on Paychex for payroll preparation and tax filings, including UC account applications. When hiring an employee residing in Pennsylvania, it was assumed that Paychex would handle the UC account filing as usual. However, we later discovered that Paychex only prepares reports and expects the account to be opened separately. In January [redacted], upon realizing this, we promptly applied for the UC account, received the number, and filed and paid the necessary taxes. Subsequently, all reports have been filed on time. We respectfully request that the penalties for the initial UC reports be forgiven.

On December 18, [redacted], I reopened my claim online, completed my application, and was instructed to file on December 29, [redacted]. However, when I attempted to file on that day, the claim line instructed me to contact the UC Service Center as I couldn't file at that time. I've been unsuccessful in reaching anyone for assistance. I tried to reopen online again, but now it's providing a later claim date. I urgently need to claim to pay my rent and the delayed date is not feasible. I kindly request for a representative from Unemployment PA to contact me as soon as possible, as I've had difficulty reaching anyone for assistance. Thank you. Thomas

I am a school bus driver named Nichole Perry, and my PIN is [redacted]. I recently reopened my initial claim online in December to start the new year. I received all necessary documents by mail, indicating everything was in order. However, when I tried to file for the week ending 11/30/[redacted] (Thanksgiving week, also my waiting week where I earned $[redacted].90 for 2 days of work), there was an issue with the online filing system. Despite multiple attempts to contact via phone, I have been unsuccessful. Today, I wanted to file for two weeks around Christmas (earning $0.0 for the week ending 12/28/[redacted] and $[redacted].90 for 2 days of work for the week ending 01/04/[redacted]), but the system prompted me to reopen my claim again. This situation is incredibly frustrating, as I am unable to reach anyone for assistance. I previously emailed without a response. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could investigate my case and provide me with some much-needed answers. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Nichole Perry
