I have a Netgear WiFi modem router model **** which is not being updated because it cannot be manually updated.Netgear says it must be done by IPS.If you are unable to manually update the firmware. Even though you own the modem the cable company still pushes out the firmware updates. Netgear sends the ISP the firmware they then review the firmware and make any changes they want to the firmware then push it to all modems at the same time.Cable Service providers can use this request form to request access to NETGEAR Service Provider ticketing and firmware management.http:**www.netgear.com*service-providers*contact-us*CableMSO.aspx
