I have a solar system connected to my service. It is a very small system and offsets some of my electric usage, but never comes anywhere close to generating surplus energy to sell back to the utility. My issue is with the NEM tariff that my account was put on. Ever since getting on NEM, my billing is so painfully confusing, I never understand what I'm being charged for or how much is due when, the "true up" bills every ** months are bewildering and burdensome because they're always huge bills (around $**** every year). I have trouble budgeting for electrical use because the billing seems to vary so widely, and then hits me with the gigantic balloon payment every ** months. All in all, it's been a disaster. If I knew I would have to deal with this NEM nonsense I never would have installed the solar panels in the first place.**Cheng Teh**** Russia Avenue, San Francisco, CA***So, my question is, is there any way I can get OFF NEM billing and go back to regular, normal pay-as-you-go monthly billing? I think I understand why NEM exists, but I am certainly not in the segment of PG&E customers who might benefit from NEM because of selling electricity back to the utility. This will never happen with my very small solar system. I feel that, as a penalty for agreeing to install solar, I have been saddled with this hugely burdensome, clumsy, onerous, and entirely unsuitable tariff. Please help, get me off NEM billing and back to sanity!
