Help with my PETCO.com issue

The issue in GetHuman-elwarns's own words
Modify an order immediately after placing it. ... I inadvertantly clicked SUBMIT on an order before I realized I could have used a promo code if I ordered more of my cat's favorite food. There is no way on-line to modify an order. When I called, I was placed on hold for so long the first time (about *** hour) that I tried calling back * more times. Finally and all together I had been on hold for close to an hour, only to be told that too much time had elapsed since I placed the order so it cold not be altered. Keep mind I tried to contact you as your website instructed IMMEDIATELY after I placed the order when I realized my mistake. You kept me on hold for a total of an hour. Whose fault is that? Why aren't your phone representatives able to make exceptions when Petco is at fault, not the customer?
This was Petco's fault for keeping me on hold so long.
I'd like * cases of my cat's food with the $**.** off I WOULD have gotten had they allowed me to modify the order.
I buy from Petco all the time.
What else is there to try? If you call Petco they put you on hold for an hour and then tell you they can't help you with your order because too much time has elapsed.
