I made a prepaid reservation at the Vista Inn the itinerary number is *************. Itinerary verified my room would be guaranteed for late arrival. When I got there at * p.m. I was informed that they were sorry and they were sold out. I called Orbitz to resolve the issue. After confirming with the hotel the agent asked me what amenities I required for another booking. I told him specifically air conditioning and a bathtub. I checked into the room and then called the front desk to see if they had a room with a bathtub because I specifically needed one and she said they didn't have any rooms with bathtubs. Here's what I would like to see happen, I would like to get a full refund for my original stay since my none of my reasons for booking the room in the first place could be satisfied* AND*OR AT THE LEAST I would like to be provided with a room free of charge for **** so my purpose for spending on a room is satisfied. I appreciate that I was able to get a room even though the time that I needed in the room was reduced by the inconvenience all together, but that does not change my need for a bathtub and a few hours of space and cool air. If my purpose was simply to have a decent place to sleep then then my time that was wasted would have been a simple inconvenience but getting a simple room to sleep was not my reason for making the reservation. Receiving a refund for a time-sensitive evening lost AND being provided a room that meets my needs for booking would both make up for the inconvenience and satisfy my I need for the room.
GetHuman-igngzg did not yet indicate what Orbitz should do to make this right.

I just called Orbitz, I let them know what happened and let them know my expectations, I had a firm tone but was not rude and did not need to get Huffy, they first made sure they understood everything I was telling them and then they transferred me to their supervisor who also repeated back to me what the situation was just so that she was clear and then she investigated it, she listen to the recorded call from the day before that I had with her representative to make sure I did tell her representative what I needed and then she did call the hotel to verify that her representative did not ask the hotel if they had what I needed before they booked and then she got back on with me and resolved the issue. She offered to give me a refund or to give me a coupon for $*** that I could use to book another room and I took the coupon because it was more than the price of the room the only thing I had to do was pay the taxes and fees which I didn't mind because I was able to get a room better than the room I had originally booked. I would say Orbitz customer service is excellent and I was highly satisfied.
