I applied for unemployment and received initial approval. However, after filing for two weeks as instructed, both were denied due to an overpayment claim from six years ago. I am now required to repay this overpayment and serve a six-week penalty period. This seems unfair as it is affecting my ability to pay bills. Additionally, I have heard on the news about the $[redacted] weekly additional pay, but the Ohio unemployment site does not mention anything about it.

My name is Tywanna Mosley and I have been waiting for three weeks now, about to enter my fourth week on 4/12. I have been displaced due to Covid-19. I have responded to the correspondence and my doctor's office has faxed in all the required paperwork with the amount and start/end dates. When will the funding be released or any response provided? Additionally, there have been errors with my claim reopening and my last 4 social security number was placed next to my name. Could you please give me some guidance on the status of my check? I hope to receive it by the fourth claim date. People do not have time for the technical difficulties this system is facing.

I am experiencing an issue with a Notice of Eligibility request. I am unable to open one of my mails in the view correspondence inbox. When attempting to open it, an error message appears stating there are missing or incorrect entries. The system indicates that further action is required by 4/13/[redacted], yet I cannot access the necessary information to complete it. I am unsure what specific details are needed to finalize my application. The ID number for this notice is [redacted]80.

I submitted my first week on 3/28 and now have two weeks that are still pending. I had trouble accessing the online account to process my initial claim while I was off work due to the virus. On 4/2, I received an email stating my claim would be denied but then it was approved. However, both weeks still show as pending and I can't reach anyone on the phone. It has been nearly a month without any income, and I urgently need a payment. I've read online that some had to speak to someone on the phone for their status to change from pending to a deposit. I've been calling every day this week, but the automated system keeps asking me to call back due to high volume. I realize it's busy now, but it's vital that I receive some income soon. I've used up my savings for rent, bills, and essentials, and I'm worried about not getting unemployment soon. I need clarity on this matter.

I received approval for my application on 3/24. (Claimant ID [redacted]52, Determination ID [redacted]17-1). Each week since, I have filed a weekly claim only to receive a DENIED status with determination number [redacted]34-1. The latest denial was on the 8th after filing on the 4th. I've been told that job searches are not required for those laid off due to COVID-19. Can you confirm this? I've also been informed that it may take up to 3 weeks for claims to process and receive back payment. If this is accurate, why do I keep getting DENIED? Additionally, when I attempt to view my pay stub, I encounter an error message stating "No pay stub exists." Despite applying for multiple jobs, none appear in my Ohio Means Jobs backpack. Every phone number I dial seems to lead me into an automated loop. Can you please help me understand what steps I need to take to rectify this situation? The closure of most restaurants has left me with limited funds, and I am eagerly seeking approval.

Hi, I'm Brandi Baker. I was hired for a part-time job on the week of March 5th. I reported my work for that week and for March 9th to 14th, earning $[redacted]. Due to COVID-19, I only worked one day from March 18th to 24th and reported it. I submitted a refill request, but it has been almost a month without receiving my paycheck. I find this situation ridiculous as I worked for two weeks and have been off due to the virus without being fired, just laid off. I've been trying to get assistance all week, but everyone seems too busy. Can someone please help me so I can receive my paycheck after a month of waiting?

Hello, I am Malcolm R. It has been a month since March 15th since I have been jobless. I work as a server and bartender in the restaurant industry. I have applied for unemployment, but there were issues with my SSN verification, causing delays. I am feeling frustrated as I cannot reach anyone at the office to resolve this. The requirement to search for jobs seems unreasonable during a global pandemic when most places are not hiring. I need assistance from JFS, have tried contacting daily without success, and wish to receive communication via email or phone to understand my situation better. I have two claim numbers available for reference. I am in urgent need of funds for essentials and seek clarity on why my SSN verification is problematic this time around. Thank you for your support.

I submitted my claim on March 18th. The quarterly hours from my job of 3 years were missing on the verification sheet I received. Despite this, I believe I still qualify for assistance due to COVID-19. As a single mom and head of household who has worked in the restaurant industry for two decades, I have not received any child support or state assistance. It has been a month with no income, and now my filing date has inexplicably been changed with no response. The lack of communication from unemployment services has been extremely stressful. Despite their claims of increased staff and extended phone hours, I have been unable to reach a live person. Is there a hidden number I should be using?

I started a new job and fell ill on my first night of work due to Coronavirus symptoms. Despite working the first two days, my employer sent me home on the third day. My doctor then quarantined me for 14 days. I tried opening an unemployment claim online on April 7, [redacted], but couldn't explain my situation due to limited space on the application. I faxed my explanation, pay stubs, employer letter, and doctor's note to Lima, Ohio. Despite multiple attempts, I haven't been able to confirm if my claim reached the processing center. I faxed Columbus, Ohio with no success. I've also mailed the documents and attempted to email, but the provided email address was invalid. I desperately need to ensure my claim isn't denied due to incomplete information from the online form. I faced an error during my second week filing online for the week ending April 11, [redacted], leaving my job search information incomplete. I've tried every available option without success. I am struggling to understand the current situation. I have been on sick leave since March 25, [redacted], and this is my first attempt to apply for unemployment benefits. I have submitted all the required documents and provided my mass layoff number as requested. However, I have not received any benefits yet. Despite receiving notifications from Ohio Unemployment indicating missing information, I have filled out the forms multiple times to no avail. Additionally, I am unable to view a notification received on April 6, [redacted], as it requires me to fill out the same forms I already submitted three times. I urgently need to speak with a representative to resolve these issues and ensure I can cover my bills during this period of unemployment. I have been trying to contact the office but have been unsuccessful in reaching a live person. I am aware of the current challenges and delays, but being three weeks behind on payments is becoming critical for me.

Name: Jenaan Awadallah Claimant ID: [redacted]90 Hello, I am reaching out with frustration and confusion. I submitted my unemployment claim on March 28th after being laid off due to the current health crisis. I have been filing my weekly claims regularly, but I have not received any information on how much I am supposed to receive. When I checked my messages on the JFS website, I couldn't open the attachments for weeks, but today I could. It says I need to take action before April 17, which worries me because I wasn't able to access this email earlier. The message indicates I am ineligible for unemployment due to not having worked for 20 weeks or met the minimum earnings per week requirement, both of which are inaccurate. I had a job before my recent one for well over 20 weeks. Additionally, the eligibility requirements during the pandemic should entitle me to benefits. This situation is difficult for me as my husband is also without income, and we were relying on these payments. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience.

I was approved on 3/19, but all my weekly claims are showing as denied. I have received letters I cannot open, including one about a past issue that I can no longer access to correct. There are three other letters stating the determination was vacated, but I cannot view the reasons. I have tried calling without success and sometimes can get through on chat, but they redirect me to call again. I urgently need to speak with someone to understand what is happening as I was initially approved on 3/19 but have not received any payments. What should I do next?

I filed my first week on March 28th. Several days later, I received an email from unemployment stating I was eligible for another week that I didn't file. They mentioned they would deny my claim, reopen it the next day, and provide backdated pay for that week. They instructed me to email and assured me I didn't need to do anything else. I then received correspondence on the website indicating my claims were denied, but soon after, those denials were vacated and dismissed. However, I haven't received any new claim or benefits. The system still shows "denied," and I couldn't file a claim on April 12th. I've been struggling to reach anyone over the phone for assistance. I truly need help with this issue.

Hello, I am in the 4th week of claiming unemployment benefits due to being on furlough from the BP Toledo oil refinery amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. I have faithfully claimed my weeks and have confirmation numbers for each. My friend, who filed a week after me, has already received his payout while I am still waiting. Being the sole provider for my household, I am concerned about my payment status as my savings are running low, bills are unpaid, and I need to address this with bill collectors to protect my credit. I am looking for clarification on when I can expect my payment. I have tried reaching out by phone but have had no success. Your prompt response with the necessary details would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Robert H.

I understand you are busy, but I kindly request a prompt response as my bills are approaching. Please contact me for any additional information needed. Thank you. Roger

Hello, I suspect my hours were not accurately reported during my last week of unemployment. I am encountering difficulty accessing the payroll site for essential pay and hours details. I have reached out to the manager and H.R. at Black White Transportation to address inquiries from Ohio J.F.S. - Unemployment and request a correction to ensure accuracy. I mentioned working on 3/30 and 3/31, but encountered discrepancies in the reported hours, specifically noting breaks. Additionally, I clarified workdays, breaks, and the company's work week to provide a comprehensive overview. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Carolyn S. Church

I have filed for four weeks of unemployment due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I have responded to all notices and questions, but I have not received any payments yet. I am unsure of the status of my benefits and have had no luck reaching a human representative over the phone or through the chat line. My savings have run out, and my stress levels are rising. I urgently need assistance in understanding the situation to avoid putting myself and my family at risk financially. Any advice on how to proceed or how to reach a live person for help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Best regards, C.F. Williams.

I have not been terminated from my job but was simply asked to stay home due to the current circumstances. I have not received my weekly unemployment benefits check. I believe it is due to the waiting week policy for the new year, which should have been waived because of the pandemic. I have also not received the additional $[redacted] checks along with my unemployment benefits. As a union carpenter with my jobsite closed, I am in urgent need of these funds to support my two children and pay bills. I have tried calling 24 times today, but the lines are constantly busy. Please assist me promptly as I cannot afford to wait any longer without any income. Thank you. - Damian D.

On March 18, the retail job I was working at shut down due to COVID-19. My last day of work was March 16. I filed for Unemployment Benefits and addressed all eligibility concerns. I also submitted an Appeal. I recently received an email from ODJFS saying they are extending my benefits for an additional week. However, now when I log in, the screen is blank and it indicates that my first week to file is April 19th. I am unable to access the previous weeks' claims. I kindly request ODJFS to provide clarification on when I can expect to receive my benefits.
