I purchased a car from someone named Gloria for $[redacted] via eBay cards for a [redacted] Honda Accord. After giving the card details to Gloria, she instructed me that the car would be shipped soon. I received a message from what I believed was eBay stating the car would be shipped the next day but later asked for insurance to be purchased. When I declined and asked for a refund, I lost contact with Gloria. The ad has been flagged on OfferUp, and I haven't heard back from eBay. I thought I was communicating with eBay when asked to send pictures of the card, but it was a different website. How can I recover my $[redacted]?

I am incredibly disappointed as this was my first purchase on your website, and unfortunately, I fell victim to a scam that cost me $[redacted]. I made a payment via PayPal to someone posing as Naomi Cochrane for a PS4 Pro. Despite assurances of overnight delivery, I haven't received any updates after numerous attempts to contact her. Even PayPal's investigation claimed I authorized the transaction, leaving me at a loss. The individual used a fake name "China" on your platform and has since removed the listing. I have saved all communication with this person if you require it. I believe it is your responsibility to reimburse me fully for this fraudulent transaction. Thank you. - S.M.

I purchased a Tri Horned Dragon item from a seller named Kristian last Saturday. Initially, he assured me it would be shipped shortly. However, on the fourth day, when I inquired about the status, he said it would be shipped the next day. Strangely, on the fifth day, he accused me of planning to scam him. I've paid the $68.69, and now he refuses to send the item at all. I'm frustrated and seeking assistance as I can't cancel the order. Despite him marking it as shipped, it hasn't been sent, leaving me at risk of losing my money. I'm a loyal and responsible user of this platform, and unfortunately, encounters like this seem to happen too often.

I inquired about a PlayStation 4 listed as free. The seller replied that her son was supposed to give it away but now she's in Wisconsin and I would need to pay for shipping. She asked for payment via Cash App or PayPal. However, the person who contacted me was suspicious, using inappropriate language and sending payment requests from a different account. When I tried to message the seller on OfferUp, the option was greyed out and messages wouldn't go through.

I mistakenly sent the wrong skirt to a customer on OfferUp and I wish to correct it, but I unintentionally blocked her. I have not been paid for the skirt due to changing my debit card. I am unsure how to refund her as I never received the payment. I need assistance to retrieve the skirt I sent and help with unblocking her. Thank you. - M.S.

Hello! I recently sold a toilet paper holder and shipped it without obtaining proof of delivery. The package was not scanned by USPS until several days later, causing confusion with the buyer and the platform, OfferUp. OfferUp canceled the sale assuming I never shipped it, leaving the item still listed on my profile. Now, the buyer is receiving the item, but I am left without payment. With the current situation in the world, I understand there are more critical issues, but I am trying to resolve this smoothly for both parties. Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. Thank you, Julie M.

I encountered an issue with a seller named Robert from Stanton, CA who mistakenly "accepted my offer" for a wetsuit although I was actually shopping for iPhones. Unfortunately, the app did not allow me to cancel the transaction. Despite informing "Robert" that this was a misunderstanding and not an offer I made, the situation was not rectified. I urgently requested not to have the wetsuit shipped as it was neither requested nor wanted. When I reached out to OfferUp, only a standard response was received without resolving the problem. Despite numerous attempts, I have been unable to contact a real person for assistance. The system even sent a message notifying me that the wetsuit was being prepared for shipment. I took the step of cancelling my credit card due to this situation and may need to file a police report. I have informed my credit union of the fraudulent occurrence. It is crucial for platforms to have measures in place to prevent mistaken or fraudulent transactions from proceeding further.

I'm Clarence H. I bought a [redacted] Honda on OfferUp on 4/20/[redacted]. The transaction number is [redacted][redacted]. The seller, Jennifer R., claimed to be in the military and needed to sell fast before deployment. After paying, I received multiple requests for more money, culminating in $[redacted] for the car to be shipped to Arlington, Texas. When I called Ebay Motors, the call was disconnected after mentioning a scam. I haven't been able to contact anyone since, not even Jennifer. I have all email correspondence and want to cancel this purchase. How should I proceed? Thank you. You can reach me at [redacted].

My sister bought a Nintendo Switch from someone named Macy Arroyo for $[redacted]. She confirmed our shipping address and asked if UPS was okay, which my sister agreed to. After that, Macy disappeared without providing a tracking number. We suspect that this is a scam, and we're frustrated because my sister worked hard for that money as a college student. We have evidence of the conversation and Macy's profile. I previously emailed your customer service about this a week ago but never received a response. Please improve your customer service. I hope for a prompt reply. Thank you, and stay safe.

After using your website, I fell victim to a scam that redirected me to eBay to buy an item. Upon returning to your site, I noticed the same item still listed, now under three different names each time I log out. I plan to report this to law enforcement. It's important to partner with authorities if you encounter illegal activities or crimes, providing them with relevant details like the user profile of the individual involved on OfferUp. In cases of receiving fraudulent checks or counterfeit money, it's advised not to deposit them. Instead, report the person to local authorities and within the OfferUp app. Once law enforcement is involved, they may contact OfferUp and share case details for further cooperation.

Transaction#[redacted] This is my second attempt to reach someone. My name is Troy Barber. I sold a computer through OfferUp, assuming the shipping was covered only to find out that I was responsible for the shipping cost. Despite using the prepaid label provided by OfferUp for a 20lb package, it turned out to be 22lbs when I dropped it off at the post office. I was asked to pay an additional $40 for the extra weight, which seemed excessive as I had already used the prepaid label. The package ended up stuck in the Pontiac facility in Michigan instead of reaching the intended recipient. This has caused frustration for both me, awaiting payment, and the buyer who has not received the item after 11 days. I initiated an inquiry with the post office to track the package, which revealed its current location. I hope for a prompt resolution to this issue to ensure either successful delivery or return of the computer. Sincerely, Troy Barber.

After purchasing a car for $[redacted] on OfferUp, the seller provided paperwork claiming it was fixed and in good condition. Upon getting a smog check at the seller's friend's place, it passed, but the car broke down before reaching home and now needs a new engine. Despite contacting the seller three times with no response, the issue remains unresolved. Your assistance and advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

I attempted to contact OfferUp customer service but was redirected back to ask.offerup.com. I discovered a confusing message stating, "We are waiting for you to fix the problem and share with other customers." This left me puzzled and seeking assistance from OfferUp. The issue I encountered involved a conversation in the OfferUp app on my phone that seemed to be from me. It showed that I had made an offer, the seller accepted, and asked me to pick up the item. However, I never sent that message. Upon realizing this, I noticed the message was sent three hours ago, and the item was sold two hours ago to someone else. Concerned, I reached out to my husband, who was unaware of the situation and worried about possible identity theft. I need clarity on what occurred.

Last year, when I used OfferUp, I encountered issues trying to delete my products. Despite my attempts to remove them from the platform, I could only archive them, assuming that meant hiding them. After deleting the app, I continued to receive emails regarding these products. With the increase in online shopping, I now receive messages weekly. I wish for OfferUp to locate and delete my products associated with my name or email, as I don't remember my login information and have concerns about redownloading the app. I have been unable to find a customer service phone number, and based on negative feedback about the platform, I am seeking assistance to resolve this matter. Thank you, L.H. [[redacted]]

I sent $[redacted] to [redacted] for a car purchase but did not receive a tracking number on May 5th. Later, I was asked to send $[redacted] for shipping insurance, then another $[redacted] the next day for the car supposedly at the Illinois border. I am now seeking a refund as communication with the seller stopped after multiple payment requests. The car continues to be listed on OfferUp under different names linked to the same email address. My attempts to contact the seller have been fruitless and my emails seem to disappear. I have unfortunately fallen victim to a $[redacted] scam, my entire savings, and I am desperate to recover it with no response from OfferUp after trying to cancel the transaction and request a refund.

I need help with my listings. After encountering server errors, I tried resetting my phone. Unfortunately, most of my listings disappeared, and I can't log in to the app or change my password now. Each time I try, it gets stuck on the Access Code screen. I have numerous items listed and I'm worried about not being able to fulfill potential purchases. I've already reinstalled the app to no avail. I really need to get this fixed quickly.

I am currently in the process of purchasing a car from a seller. I received an invoice via email from OfferUp for the car priced at $[redacted]. The seller requested payment in eBay gift cards. After purchasing the eBay gift cards, I sent pictures of them in response to the invoice. The seller is now asking for an additional $[redacted] for car insurance related to shipping. I am concerned whether this is a scam or not and would appreciate any insights on this matter.

I proceeded with a transaction to purchase an iPhone for $[redacted]. I inquired why the price was so low, and the seller explained that they offer discounted prices to help those struggling during the pandemic. The seller mentioned having trouble uploading their card on the platform and suggested using Cash App for payment. After the transaction, the listing vanished, along with the seller's profile. I fear I have fallen victim to a scam and lost $[redacted]. I am reaching out to OfferUp for assistance in this matter.

As of May 9th, [redacted], I have not received my refund. Unfortunately, I don't have an order number due to the seller canceling the order and erasing the information. I do have my bank statements as proof of purchase. I appreciate any help with this matter. Thank you.

Regarding purchase [redacted] for the car from seller Tamara Haszan, I put through the original payment. A ship date was arranged for May 9. However, on Thursday, May 7, Offerup informed both the seller and I that an additional $[redacted] each for insurance during transport was necessary, with a promise of a refund upon the car's arrival. Subsequently, we both paid the requested insurance fees, but communication from the seller or Offerup ceased. I am seeking confirmation of receipt of the additional $[redacted] payment and an update on the expected delivery date of the car. I eagerly await your response. - P.J.
