I have a [redacted]-gallon pressure tank available for sale. Recently, I was in contact with an individual named Jack who claimed his brother, Gabriel Freeman, was interested in purchasing the tank. He mentioned being an oceanographer from Massachusetts relocating from Texas. After numerous text exchanges, he sent a cashier's check covering the tank's price and shipping expenses for movers to collect it along with his furniture. I deposited the check after verification by my bank but later found out it was fraudulent. I lost $[redacted].80, and my account got frozen due to this incident. I reported the scam to the authorities, but now my bank is accusing me of altering the check. This situation has caused significant financial distress as a small business owner.

I have been using OfferUp for a few weeks and unfortunately, I have experienced being scammed twice, resulting in money being taken from me. The platform's seller fees of almost 10% drive many to use PayPal or Cash App for transactions. I fell victim to scammers who requested payment via Cash App for a Nintendo Switch and another item. The sellers promised to ship the items but never did, and both deactivated their accounts, leaving me unable to reach them. Despite making efforts to warn a seller in Texas about my previous experience, they did the same thing after receiving my payment and deactivated their account. This pattern of deception is alarming, and I believe action should be taken to address it as I'm not the only one facing such issues. I urge OfferUp to address this matter promptly.

I was in contact with Jason Bradley regarding theme park tickets. We agreed on a deal, and I paid through my credit card. However, Jason did not uphold his end of the bargain. After reaching out to my credit card company and Cash App to dispute the payment, as Jason failed to deliver the tickets despite acknowledging the payment, he then requested an additional payment and stopped responding when I asked for a refund. I am seeking assistance to investigate this matter, retrieve my funds, and prevent further scams by this individual.

I sold my prom dress to someone and we exchanged PayPal details. I received an email confirming the money was in my account but needed to provide shipping tracking information to access it. I then sent the dress for tracking details to release the payment. After, I received an email saying I needed to upgrade to a business account or receive an additional $[redacted]. When I contacted PayPal, they confirmed it was a scam. Unfortunately, I have been scammed, losing my dress with no payment in return.

I purchased a Tiffany necklace from seller Yolanda Sanchez, listed as authentic on OfferUp. Upon verifying at a Tiffany store, it was discovered to be counterfeit. This violates OfferUp's policies. I'm Susan F. and my transaction number is [redacted]. Contact me via [redacted] I intend to file a police report against the seller and OfferUp for facilitating this issue.

I purchased an item on OfferUp, and we opted for shipping through the platform. Initially, I was notified that everything went smoothly, and I was waiting for the seller to ship the item. Although I received the item, the seller never received the payment. Shortly after, I received a notification of the transaction being canceled. The next day, I was informed that the payment went through, but the seller still did not receive the funds. After almost a week without payment, we arranged for a different method of payment, and the seller contacted OfferUp to cancel the payment and return the money to me via the credit card I used. It has been nearly a month, and I have not received the refund. Despite receiving a notification that the seller canceled the payment, the money was never refunded to me. I am eager to get my money back. The transaction number is [redacted].

I bought a phone from a seller named Joe on the OfferUp app. I used Western Union to send him $[redacted] for the phone. He claimed to be Josh Garcia from Roseburg, Oregon. After buying another phone and sending more money, I realized it was a scam as he never sent me anything. His account was deleted from OfferUp, and I discovered his criminal history through a Google search. I reported the incident to local law enforcement in Mississippi but was informed it was hard to pursue because of the amount involved. I'm disappointed as I lost $[redacted] and didn't receive any phones. The investigator suggested seeking reimbursement from the app or contacting the Better Business Bureau.

I recently purchased an item, but unfortunately, when it arrived, the box was open, and the item was missing due to a possible mishap during shipping. I have not received a satisfactory resolution from the post office or the seller. Additionally, another item I purchased, Apple earphones, has not arrived despite being told it was shipped. I feel frustrated that I have lost money on both purchases totaling $[redacted]. I am seeking assistance and resolution to these issues as soon as possible. You can reach me at my email address, [redacted] Thank you.

I bought two phones from Joshua Garcia, a Samsung Note 9 for $[redacted] and an iPhone 8 Plus for $80. The transactions occurred on separate days through the OfferUp app. After I paid for the first phone, he showed me a receipt, but the sender/receiver info was editable and the tracking number was missing, indicating he hadn't shipped it. Despite this, I paid for the second phone. He claimed to have sent both phones but stopped responding once his OfferUp account was deleted. When I looked him up, I found his mugshot for check fraud. I contacted law enforcement, but they couldn't take action due to the small amount involved. They suggested reaching out to the Better Business Bureau if OfferUp couldn't assist.

I would like to inquire about the reason for my inability to access my account. I have been a user for a long time and always ensure I check for similar listings before posting to sell anything. If there was a mistake on my part, I would appreciate knowing what it is so I can rectify it. I have a network of friends and buyers on this platform, and it's frustrating not being able to access my account. I received an email from OfferUp Support days ago that mentioned actions being taken to secure my account, but I have not received further communication after multiple attempts. The issue remains unresolved, and the only emails I receive are from GETHUMAN. I'm uncertain about the role of GETHUMAN in this situation and would appreciate some assistance.

I recently listed a cell phone on your app and decided to enhance the visibility of the listing by purchasing the promotion plus feature for $19.99. However, despite this, I have been unable to locate my item on the app for the past two days. I have diligently checked different sections and categories, but my phone does not appear to be listed anywhere as promised. This is disappointing as I expected increased views and a better chance of selling the item with the paid promotion. I would appreciate a refund if the service I paid for is not being fulfilled. My previous experience selling on your platform was positive, but this situation is unacceptable. Thank you.

I recently sold a pair of earrings to Michelle O. two weeks ago, transaction number [redacted]. OfferUp provided a shipping label, which I couldn't print. To ensure the buyer got the earrings, I sent them via the post office, receiving a new tracking number: [redacted][redacted]08. OfferUp canceled the sale due to not using their label. Michelle mentioned she would pay through Venmo once she got her refund, but I haven't received payment and she ignores my messages. I'm frustrated and want my $[redacted] or my earrings back. This situation needs urgent resolution as OfferUp should be a secure platform, which doesn't seem to be the case here.

I packaged dolls and candles together to sell as a bundle for $[redacted]. However, the platform has put $[redacted] and some change on hold, deducting the shipping cost and fast cash option fee. It has been two days, and the buyer claims they were already charged, but I am still seeing a pending deposit on my end. I need to know how much longer it will take for the money to be released. I have shipped out the items, and tracking shows they are en route. You can reach me at [redacted]

I listed Apple AirPods for $[redacted] and a Supreme hoodie for $[redacted]. A buyer named Denzel came to my house to purchase them. I showed him the items, and he agreed to buy them for $[redacted]. When I gave him back his $20 change, he suddenly ran off without paying the full amount. I feel upset and frustrated as I was planning to use that money to support my coach, who was recently in a car accident and lost her fiancé. Denzel lives in Dallas. Should I involve the police? Any advice would be appreciated.

I came across a listing on OfferUp for a [redacted] Chevrolet Astro van priced at $[redacted], posted by seller Lisa Halie. Interested in buying it, I followed instructions to make the payment through eBay Motors. I purchased 6 $[redacted] eBay gift cards as advised, and sent pictures of the card numbers to eBay. I was assured the van would be shipped and received within 2 days. However, I then received a request for an additional $[redacted] for insurance for shipping, something I was not informed of before paying. Feeling suspicious, I contacted eBay and was informed it was a scam. Various emails from individuals claiming to be eBay and the seller were exchanged. Unfortunately, I was scammed of $[redacted] on April 17, [redacted].

I had a disturbing experience when trying to purchase a heater online. The seller crossed a line by referencing an old school mate on Facebook without any relevance to the sale, making me uncomfortable. Despite feeling it was inappropriate, I reluctantly confirmed knowing the person. The situation escalated to the point where I felt interrogated and threatened. After blocking the seller, she continued to harass me through Facebook messages via my friends' accounts, causing me worry and fear as she hinted at knowing where I live. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name before blocking her. I have health concerns, including a heart condition, and this kind of stress triggers anxiety and exacerbates my health issues. This isn't the first time I've faced aggression over trivial matters, leaving me on edge.

Hello, I recently signed up on OfferUp a few days ago. I provided all the required information, including my ID. I successfully posted a couple of items and even had a potential buyer. However, when I tried to post another item, it didn't seem to work properly. The item was posted, but I didn't receive any views or messages, and my account appears to be invisible now. I attempted to create a new account with the same details, but I encountered the same issue. I have reached out to support, but I have not received a response in almost a week. I am concerned about why OfferUp requested my ID and if it is related to my account issue. I am eagerly awaiting a reply to understand the problem and find a resolution. Thank you.

Hello! I've noticed that you've been removing items that I believe are authentic, specifically my Gucci Shoulder Bags. These bags have serial numbers in my photos and even have the Gucci label on the back of the zipper. I'm puzzled as to why they are considered counterfeit, given that they were purchased at Nordstrom. However, I haven't received any emails explaining these removals as your notification system promises, and I've encountered issues with the broken contact customer service link. Despite these challenges, I do appreciate your app and have been using it frequently to sell items. I find it convenient that I can sell locally or offer shipping, which is a unique feature compared to other apps. I'd appreciate clarification on why my authentic items are being removed. Thank you for your assistance. - M.A. K. [redacted]

On April 22, [redacted], I purchased a used Nissan Versa from an ad on OfferUp. The listing did not mention any issues with the car. After a 20-minute test drive, I decided to buy it for $[redacted]. The next day, on April 23rd, the car broke down with strange noises, leading me to tow it to an auto shop, where I discovered the engine needed replacement. Initially, the seller agreed to pay half the cost, with me covering an additional $[redacted]. However, on April 25th, the seller changed his stance, insisting I pay $[redacted] by myself for the repairs. I bought this car for its fair price, nice interior, and new tires. Now, I simply want a refund to buy another car, but the seller is refusing to cooperate without legal action. I feel a loss of $[redacted] and now face an unexpected $[redacted] for the engine. I seek a resolution or advice on my options. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Around 10 days ago, I carefully prepared and hand-delivered an item I sold on OfferUp to the post office. The item, a large framed artwork with an original artist's signature, was destined for Phoenix, Arizona. It was meticulously wrapped in bubble wrap, cardboard, and shipping paper, adorned with the word "fragile" written multiple times all over. After tracking, I noticed a delay in the package reaching the buyer. Five days ago, I was informed that the buyer claimed the item arrived damaged, without providing specifics or photos. Despite my thorough packaging and trust in the postal service, the buyer's allegations have left me confused. I reached out for more details through email, as I remain distressed about the situation and the delayed payment for my Peggy Hopper Artwork. As a new OfferUp user, this incident has shaken my confidence in the platform's efficiency. If not promptly resolved, this may result in me discontinuing sales on OfferUp and exploring other selling avenues. The funds have been pending for 10 days, and I seek a resolution and payment release promptly. Thank you.
