I am at work so don't have my details at hand but if possible to look up cruise from names, it is Grant Stuart, ** Glennie Avenue Hamilton, Ontario, L*H *V* phone *** *** ****. This is regarding our Alaska cruise from several years ago. Please look up my details. I still can't get over what happened and now friends want us to come on a ncl cruise but I'm reluctant due to past experience.*My mother had terminal cancer and I wanted to show her Alaska as she'd wanted to see it. I booked two suites with butler for my wife and I, our son and my mom and it was supposed to be nice from the start, a special treat that I had to work overtime for. We were supposed to be placed in a nice lounge before embarkation but we were herded along with all passengers and at the end of waiting for hours someone said, oops we missed putting you in the lounge. My mom was exhausted waiting and I felt bad. We took the time to book shows onboard as instructed by ncl itself only to have them all cancelled for first come first served. As I said, mom coukdn't wait in line at that point in her health and we missed half the shows. Shows were all she coukd really do at that point so we asked why all the reservatiins were cancelled and got no response. This might seem like a small thing but I wanted my hard working mom to be pampered because she gave me everything and I tried to make a great experience by booking the suite to avoid lines and such but because mistakes were made, there was nothing special at the crucial times and she was tired waiting in line which we paid to bypass. She has passed on * years ago but this still bothers me. I booked another ncl on the Breakaway from NY in a mini suite and tried self debarkation but the elevators were closed, the port was not sufficiently staffed when ncl started calling for self disembarking guests to proceed and my wife, son and I were literally trapped on staircases with hundreds of people for three hours. We shoukd not have been called to proceed. When the port was ready, ncl staff put the elevators in service again and guests who were not self debarking were called to proceed and we were still trapped on the stairs with hundreds of exhausted and hot guests with our luggage. It was awful. No one contacted me to address these issues and I was assured someone would but it is difficult to speak of the gift I tried to give my mom in particular. I paid for that butler suite so she could be in luxury after working hard her whole life. She had never had the privledge of skipping a line etc and because of mistakes at embarking on that one, she never did. Please contact me about this.
