I joined Tapout in **** which was taken over by NYSC. In **** (Aug) I developed severe heel spurs and cancelled my membership. In September ****, NYSC took over the Tapout location. I hadn't realized that I was continuing to be charged the membership until early February ****. I went in to NYSC and informed them that I was no longer a member of Tapout and therefore should not be converted to NYSC. The person at the front desk took ** mins (typing into the computer and assured me that the membership was closed) He even went on the say "oh since we are not Tapout, you don't have to worry."*While reviewing my accounts I noticed again that the charges were again being made. I went a *rd time to NYSC and again the young lady typed into the computer and stated it had been closed. *Yesterday, Dec *, I asked to speak with a manager. Who did not give me his name. He printed something that stated that it was cancelled. When I asked him what compensation I would be given since I had cancelled it several times before, He stated "none" that I should have asked to speak with a manager when I came the other times. I also inquired about why I was never notified that the membership went up to $**. He also stated that a mass email went out for the increase. when I asked him what email address he had for me, he stated none. So I asked why a letter was never sent since NYSC did have my address. He replied, we sent an email. This manager, on duty on Dec * was cold and did not care that I had been trying to cancel this membership many times. He did acknowledge that the account had been frozen in February ****. I want to know with what authorization was it reinstated. I also want to know why NYSC never informed "members" (which I have never been or should have been converted) of increases in prices. *I am requesting refund of my membership fees from February **** to present. I have requested that my bank not pay any more of these charges. But it's unfair that I should have to continue to go thru this. I will await a response in writing before taking any other steps.
