Hi, I am a member of the Brooklyn Heights NYSC. I I have a personal trainer through the gym that I train with twice a week for $*** a month. Before the completion of my training package for December **** I informed my trainer that I would like to put a freeze on the training sessions for the month of January because I will be away and would need the money for travel expenses. He said that he’d take care of it. On January *rd **** I received a notification from my bank that a $*** charge had been made to my account from NYSC. I contacted my branch and explained the issue to the general manager, Melissa Dobles, and she said that she’d contact my trainer to find out what’s going on. Shortly after speaking with miss Dobles my trainer texted me that there was an error with the system and that the gym can freeze the sessions in February instead. I went to the gym later that day to speak with miss Dobles in person. She informed me that in order to freeze sessions I need to fill out paper work and that it needs to be signed off on by a supervisor. When I initially told my trainer that I wanted to freeze my sessions for the month there was no mention of paperwork or a process of any kind. Miss Dobles also went on to explain, while my trainer was in her office with us, that if she were to send an email to whoever handles refunds my trainer would have to be documented for the incident. While her comment regarding my trainer being documented seemed highly unprofessional and manipulative my intention isn’t to get anyone in trouble. I just want the funds that were taken out of my account in error to be refunded to me as soon as possible. This incident has caused a hardship for me and my travel plans.
