CANCEL ... Hi: Please, cancel my membership with NYSC immediately.* *On or about September **, **** I went to one of your locations, at **rd and Park Ave. I wanted to inquire how much the membership costs so I could make a decision which gym around this area has the best offer. One of the employees informed me about the costs, and when I said that its a little bit too expensive and I will think about it and come back later, she convinced me to sign up today as the sign up fee is only $* and I have ** days to cancel my membership at no cost. I DID SIGN UP AROUND ** PM, and * hours later I came back to the same location to cancel my membership, as my boyfriend found cheaper offer in the area. I filled out the cancellation form and was told to wait. Waited for about ** minutes when one of the trainers came up to me and offered $** lower price. I did not take it and requested to cancel my membership immediately. After * days, my membership was still active, and I discovered that I was charged not only $* enrollment fee but also $** additionally. I went back to the club on Friday Sept ** and talked to a person who said that the membership will be cancelled immediately and I will get my money back. Next week my membership was still active and I received a phone call from the same location on Tuesday, Sep **, that the prices JUST dropped (the prices "dropped" over a week ago ...) and she can sign me up for $** instead of $***. I was about to go for this deal but I was told that I will be reimbursed only $* but not $**. When I asked why, my phonecall was forwarded to mouthy Patricia (?) who was stating that the $** was taken by the system out of my account as a past due balance SO she cannot do anything about it. Patricia couple of times wanted to skip the $** problem (I know its only $** but I feel that this amount was simply stolen from my account as I didn*t allow this at any time and I did not want it to happen again with possible higher amounts in the future), and in a very demeaning way was trying to "move forward!!!..." with signing me up for the gym. After that I said that I do not want to have anything to do with NYSC and asked to cancel my membership. My membership had not been cancelled for next week, and on Tuesday October *, I went to the same club location **rd&Park to BEGGed for the cancellation of my membership. This time I was told that my membership cannot be cancelled (apparently NOBODY at this location has the power to do that) and $** was taken out of my account as a interest from $*** WHICH I OWED FROM LAST YEAR AND THAT IT WENT TO COLLECTION!! (This opens another story from last year, when NYSC was charging my membership account with additional fees for entering this location of NYSC which at some point became an ELITE club, and did not inform me about this. As soon as I found out that I would owe $***, I was extremely upset and asked to take this charge out of my account. I talked to one of the employees from NYSC at **rd and Park who TOOK THE CHARGE OUT OF MY ACCOUNT. Subsequently I went to my original location in Montclair NJ where I had signed up in **** and cancelled my membership at NYSC after being assured that I do not owe a dime) I was informed that this charge (which was not supposed to be there) can be taken out form collection (maybe) IF I sign up for NYSC membership (* I would get * months for free). I said again that at this point I do not want to have anything to do with NYSC at all and requested to cancel my membership immediately. The employee forwarded my case to some manager*director (god knows who). On the same day I called the customer service of NYSC and told her the story. Turns out that on top of that NYSC charged me arleady a membership fee of $** for October, even though I have been trying to cancel my membership for three weeks!!! three weeks!!!!!!!**I kindly ask you to cancel my membership and give ALL OF MY MONEY back and take out of collection what was not supposed to be there in the first place.**MG
