I recently received benefits for the week ending 4/26 through 5/10, but my last day of work was on 3/16. This discrepancy arose when I was asked an online question about a break in claiming benefits. The question did not provide an accurate option for my situation as I had worked for one day after the specified date. Consequently, I have been denied benefits for the period of 3/22 through 4/19. I am having trouble reaching out to the appropriate authorities to address this issue as I keep encountering a session timeout when I try to communicate through letters. How can I rectify this error and clarify my work history?

I have been receiving unemployment benefits related to Covid-19 until 4/5. However, I only received three weeks of unemployment and one week of PUA. Despite my case being active, I stopped receiving benefits on 4/5. When I file my weekly claim, I get a message saying it will be processed in a day, but the next day it just shows I received benefits on 4/5. I have been unable to reach anyone by phone as my case is marked as active when I enter my SSN. I have tried multiple times without success. I need help understanding why I might be ineligible and why my case is still active. Additionally, I have yet to receive the stimulus payment for myself and my child.

I'm seeking assistance with filing my unemployment claim. I have variable work hours per day and I'm unsure how to proceed. My employer's business is sporadically operating to fulfill phone orders. I managed to get my application approved after weeks of attempts, yet I can only report for last week. Despite trying all available options, once prompted to speak to a representative, I am met with a message stating they are experiencing high call volumes and disconnecting the call. This frustrating cycle has persisted for days.

I initiated a claim about 2 and a half months ago. It took a month to reach a representative who informed me that I was denied regular unemployment due to not meeting the earnings threshold from my previous job. I was advised to apply for pandemic assistance, which I did promptly. Despite filing for 4 weeks now, I haven't received any funds. The representative assured me I qualified for pandemic assistance, yet I'm still awaiting the money. Recently, upon checking my inbox on the website, I came across a form to complete. Regrettably, I misunderstood a question and inadvertently selected an incorrect option, leading to a denial of benefits even after 4 weeks of claims. I've been attempting to contact someone to rectify the error and provide details on when I'll receive the funds. It's been almost 3 months since I applied for unemployment with no payments yet, unlike my coworkers who faced no issues. I simply want to correct the form error and get clarity on the timeline for receiving the benefits I've claimed. Update: I received a helpful new form, yet uncertainty remains regarding when I'll receive the money or if my form was accepted. I assume I must wait for approval before payment. Despite having my account linked for direct deposit, I'm still awaiting funds. I seek clarification on when the payments will commence after nearly 3 months of waiting.

I struggled with filling out the PUA form over the phone and it took weeks for someone to call me back. I mentioned that the questions didn't apply well to my situation as my husband and I, who are self-employed, had all our contracts canceled due to performance cancellations from March to June. Despite explaining this, the agent advised me to do my best to answer the questions and then transferred me to an automated system to repeat the process weekly. Later, I received a letter suggesting I might not qualify due to working in a school, which is incorrect as I have never worked in that environment. I returned the form with "N/A" for irrelevant questions. Is there an alternative way to connect with a knowledgeable person to guide me through the PUA application process effectively?

This is my second time reaching out with an issue. The first was resolved satisfactorily, and I appreciate the help. My current query pertains to some letters I have received. One of them is regarding an Alternate Base Period request form. I am unsure if filling it out is necessary given I don't want to disrupt my current unemployment status. Can you clarify if this form is mandatory or optional? The other letter is about a training program I don't recall enrolling in. I'm uncertain if I need to complete this form, as I have no recollection of signing up for training. In addition, I am not interested in participating in the training. Could you please advise if I must fill out this form even if I have no intention of joining the training program, or is it voluntary?

I'm Hector M. I previously contacted a representative to lift the hold on my UI benefits. They mentioned a higher authority will review and release the hold after verifying my income and tax documents. Despite reaching out weekly since March, no progress has been made. I would appreciate any assistance as I've been patient and cooperative throughout this process. Thank you.

I am experiencing an issue with receiving my unemployment benefits through a Keybank-issued debit card. As of July 9, [redacted], I have not yet received the card even though funds were released by NYS DOL to it starting from May 10, [redacted]. Despite my attempts to contact Keybank at [redacted], I am unable to reach a representative due to the high call volume message. When I checked online, Keybank stated they have not received my unemployment enrollment request from the state agency as of July 1, [redacted]. Contacting NYS DOL through their website and phone line has been challenging as I cannot speak to a person, and their email responses do not address the issue of whether Keybank received the enrollment request. NYS DOL has not provided me with a contact person's number to resolve this problem. Being unemployed, this situation is causing me significant hardship.

I received assistance from a Department of Labor representative in Albany on 7/3, but they made an error by inputting the wrong last digit of my social security number, creating issues with my benefits. Another representative from Albany later assured me the matter would be resolved by 7/22 so I could make my weekly claim. I successfully changed my PIN, but encountered a problem when asked for my mother's maiden name during the process. Although I usually input her name with initial caps and a space, this site didn't accept spaces. After trying with lowercase letters and no spaces, the site still rejected it. I exceeded the attempts allowed and was prompted to contact a phone number for assistance, which proved to be challenging. I'll need to wait until 7/23 for further help.

I have applied for unemployment as a self-employed individual due to COVID-19 affecting my work from March 25, [redacted], to May 10, [redacted]. I have submitted my Schedule C showing $[redacted] of income on line 31. I am expecting to receive my unemployment benefits. I had a discussion with one of your representatives approximately a month ago, and I believed my claim was approved. However, I have not yet received any benefits. Michael M. My previous claim ended on June 28, [redacted]. I submitted a new claim on June 29, [redacted] and indicated my last day of work as March 13, [redacted] due to the pandemic. I recently received information that my new claim will pay me $50 more per week than the previous one. However, my new claim is starting from March 9, [redacted], which overlaps with my last claim. As of August 12, [redacted], I haven't received any payments yet, and I have bills like rent, student loans, utilities, vehicle insurance, and loan payments coming up soon without any funds to cover them. I suspect there might be an issue with my new claim.

I encountered a distressing situation related to my unemployment benefits caused by a woman working at the EDD office. After receiving my benefits, she demanded $5,[redacted] from me. When I refused, she falsely claimed I returned to full-time work, leading to the suspension of my benefits. Furthermore, she cancelled my BOA card and redirected it to her family's address. Approximately $2,[redacted] is missing from my account due to her actions, and she has had at least five cards cancelled. This woman has threatened me and I possess evidence such as text messages from her and her family. Her behavior involves fraud, identity theft, and misuse of her authority. Despite providing evidence, there has been no communication or resolution for over a month. My benefits have been withheld for more than three months, putting me in a precarious situation. I seek assistance urgently.

Ticket Number: [redacted]. I received an email stating that my issue was resolved and I should expect a follow-up within three days to file a claim online. Unfortunately, no one has reached out to me as promised. I called the provided number 1[redacted] when no one contacted me, but I am unable to proceed without a required four-digit pin that was not provided to me. Despite being assured that I could enter any four digits to speak with a representative, this was not the case. This has been an ongoing issue for weeks and has significantly impacted my ability to submit my unemployment claim due to being a victim of identity theft. I am frustrated by the lack of assistance and the inability to reach a live person to resolve this matter promptly. I urgently need help to obtain the necessary pin to proceed with my claim.

Since July 3rd, I have only received one payment despite certifying weekly. In July, I was mistakenly told by a NY DOL agent to file a new claim. After waiting eight weeks with no benefits, I discovered that all the weeks I certified were not being processed due to the confusion with the old claim. An agent named Tim assisted me on 9/18, migrated me back to the old claim, and promised to manually enter all the missed weeks for back payments. However, I have only received one payment so far, leaving nine weeks outstanding. Despite my efforts to contact them through emails, calls, and even reaching out to our local senator, I have not received any helpful responses. I continue to face issues with certifying on the website, as it keeps reverting back to a previous date. I am feeling extremely frustrated and unsure of what steps to take next.

Hello, I received a text from my boss today informing me that my seasonal job has come to a close. When I originally applied for unemployment back in March, I was juggling two part-time jobs. Initially, I was granted a weekly amount of $[redacted], resulting in a net of $[redacted] per week. However, in late April, my first job at Pizza Hut, managed by Hospitality West, closed, leaving me with only my position at Chill [redacted], a restaurant owned by NFNY Hotel Management. Unfortunately, this job has also closed for the season, potentially until late April or early May. With this significant change in my work circumstances, I'm inquiring if there is a possibility to adjust my weekly benefit amount. Previously, I was earning around $[redacted] a week from my single job that I worked three days a week. I believe my mother, who no longer works, is receiving at least $[redacted] a week in benefits, leading me to think there may be an avenue to increase my weekly claim to a similar level. Thank you and have a great day.

I recently responded "yes" when asked if I had returned to work, but I just worked for a few hours last week as a music instructor promoting a choral program that has been a source of income for over 40 years. This work was not profitable and was done to keep interest in my programs alive until it's safe to sing in groups again. I fear that this might affect my unemployment benefits. I have a few more teaching sessions scheduled in the upcoming weeks which will likely impact my benefits. I want to clarify that I have not officially returned to work and still rely on unemployment assistance.

I had a claim in NY which was canceled in November, but from August to October, I didn't receive the correct number of payments. I am missing two LWA payments, and I haven't received any payments since October 14th. I have been trying to contact them every day but haven't had any luck. I now have a claim in NJ, but I believe I am still owed benefits from NY. I would really appreciate some assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you.

When I applied for my claim, I opted for direct deposit into my checking account. However, after checking my online claim for the past two weeks, I noticed that they have changed the payment method to a debit card without me receiving one. Upon visiting the KeyBank website, it seems like there is a discrepancy, as NYS UI has not informed KeyBank about my need for a card. I am uncertain if I should re-enter my checking account information into the system due to this confusion. I am in a tough spot financially with Christmas approaching, and bills like rent and car payments piling up.

I had to leave the country due to my father's funeral, as we lost him to COVID-19. I inadvertently tried to claim unemployment benefits for a week while I was away, not realizing I couldn't do that outside the country. I promptly completed the out-of-country questionnaire and provided the requested documents, but my account was blocked, and I never received a response or a determination as promised. I returned in September, and it's now mid-December. Despite numerous attempts to contact NY DOL services, I can't get through as the line is always busy. I've been tirelessly searching for a job without success, depleting all my savings in the process. Now I find myself unable to pay rent this month and feeling desperate for assistance. Thank you.
