I have been experiencing issues with Unemployment for the past two months. Despite repeated attempts to speak with a representative regarding my valid claim and payments, I continuously received messages about busyness and technical difficulties, instructing me to call back during regular business hours. I attempted to reach my case worker, Bob Vicks, at 1-[redacted] ext [redacted], but only reached his voicemail. After finally connecting with him, I was informed my claim was valid and that payments were forthcoming. I was instructed to claim weekly and check my Unemployment card three days later. However, despite receiving a confirmation letter detailing my payments and my Unemployment card, I have not received any funds on the specified dates.

This is Joseph R. writing to address my missed claims. I did not submit any claims from June 23rd, [redacted], to June 13th, [redacted], due to personal reasons. Around that time, my wedding took place on June 25th, and I was preoccupied with the financial obligations that came with it. Additionally, dealing with the passing of my wife's grandfather and attending the wake and funeral added to the stress. The emotional strain from the wedding and funeral costs has left my finances in a challenging state. Amidst these difficulties, I failed to file my claims for the weeks starting from May 13th to June 3rd. I am yet to receive any benefits, and the wedding expenses have burdened my fiancée's credit cards. Despite filing for unemployment benefits a month ago, I have not received any assistance. Your understanding in this matter would mean a lot to me at this moment of hardship. Thank you.

Last week, I was in training for summer work as a transit driver. The shift is 8 hours with no bathroom or lunch breaks. I worked as a SCAT driver for Suffolk County. After three days, I felt drained and rushed home for the bathroom. When trying to collect unemployment benefits through Suffolk Transportation System, I was asked to review old claims instead of claiming last week's work (July 18-20th). I believe SCAT Bus may be violating labor laws in NYS. I am seeking assistance regarding this issue.

I submitted my unemployment application in early September and have not received any updates yet. With my disability benefits ending in August, I am left with no income except for food stamps. This situation is causing a lot of financial strain as I risk losing my car, apartment, and phone service without any assistance coming in. I am actively looking for jobs that align with my physical limitations but need to know the status of my unemployment claim to plan ahead. Any information on whether my application was approved or denied, and when I can expect to start receiving benefits, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance.

I am experiencing difficulties accessing my unemployment funds deposited in a Chase Bank account, which has been frozen due to security concerns. This situation is preventing me from using the money for essential needs like food and transportation. I have tried reaching out to both Chase and Key Bank to transfer the funds to a Key Bank card, but I haven't been successful. It feels like my situation is being overlooked, and I suspect fraudulent activity. As a person with a disability, this ordeal is particularly challenging for me. I used to work in the medical field and had ties to law enforcement, but now I am struggling to access the support I need. How can I resolve this issue and access my much-needed funds?

I encountered issues trying to file for unemployment insurance. Initially, the website shut down midway citing an error or maintenance. Upon attempting it a second time, the same error occurred. After changing browsers, I finally filled out the forms, but received a session timeout upon submission. Subsequently, during the completion of supplementary questionnaires, I faced the same timeout issue multiple times, resulting in none of the information being saved. Despite multiple attempts, the system does not reflect my filings and prompts me to restart. This has been a frustrating 4-hour process that I am hesitant to repeat without understanding and resolving these technical glitches. Thank you.

I'm having a difficult time filing for unemployment insurance. The first attempt was interrupted by a website error or maintenance. Upon retrying this morning, I encountered the same issue halfway through the process. After switching browsers, I successfully completed the steps, only to have the session time out upon submission. The fourth try seemed to go through, but additional questionnaires were required. Unfortunately, the training/[redacted] program questionnaire timed out, causing all the information entered to be lost. Returning to the homepage showed no record of my filing. This has been a frustrating 4-hour ordeal, and I am reluctant to start over without understanding the problem. Appreciate any assistance.

I am reporting my ex-employer Jean Jay from Jay's Cleaning. My main concern is that she has been underpaying me and other workers, only giving us an hour and a half on Saturdays when it should be a minimum of 4 hours. Additionally, she had us cleaning a severely moldy house without proper protection, resulting in headaches. Despite our concerns, she neglected to address the issue. Furthermore, she sent us to work at a house infested with fleas multiple times and showed no regard for our safety. One of my colleagues even got a headache from the fumes in one of the faulty vehicles she had us use. The unsafe working conditions and lack of proper compensation need to be addressed. I have evidence in the form of photos of the house.

The site prompted me to call the Contact Center, but the automated system didn't offer assistance or a chance to talk to a live representative. How can I fix this? Contact me at [redacted] or via email. Thanks.

After working for the organization for 29 years, I am facing a concerning situation. The company is shutting down, and the management is relocating to another state without paying into unemployment insurance. Having worked full-time for 19 years and part-time for the last 10 years, I wonder if I am still eligible for benefits. I am being offered a severance package equivalent to about one month's pay, but I am troubled about signing a severance agreement that apparently restricts me from seeking any claims with federal or state agencies, possibly including unemployment benefits. I am uncertain about the legality of this situation, and I seek clarification before proceeding with my benefits application and risking legal issues. Furthermore, the enforced arbitration clause requiring proceedings in Florida poses another complication since I have no connections to the state, and the organization has always been based in New York. Your insights on these matters would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to my concerns.

I managed to speak with a live representative, but I'm still unable to access my account online for monitoring purposes. The issue arose when I tried to reset my password and was asked questions that assumed I was married, which I'm not. After failing to answer the questions correctly, the system directed me to seek help by phone. Unfortunately, getting through to a representative was challenging. When I did reach someone, I was advised to reset the password online, which didn't address my problem. I still need to access my account online and update my last day of work from August 30th to September 4th.

I need help starting a new claim for unemployment insurance and the [redacted] program. It has been a year and it seems like my claim and benefits have expired. I am struggling to log into my nys.gov account as it's prompting me to use a different account from the past. I've attempted all three accounts, but none seem to be the right one. Any assistance with this would be highly appreciated. Thank you. Best, Amanda O.

I am employed by a servicing company for an airline that mandates specific safety training in order to obtain a security badge. I have been on-site with this company for two weeks. Tomorrow, I am scheduled to attend a mandatory 3-hour badge training class conducted at the airport where I work. However, my employer informed me that I will not be compensated for the time spent in the security badge training.

I recently applied for unemployment and received a notification stating my benefits would begin on 10/21/19 until 10/25/20, at $[redacted].00 weekly. However, as of now, 12/19/19, my claim status remains pending despite filing weekly. I urgently require these funds to support my two sons and cover my rent. The delayed allocation has put me in a difficult position, making it hard to manage my expenses. I seek immediate assistance to resolve this issue and access the funds owed to me. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Upon receiving this message, make sure to follow the two steps detailed below promptly: Step 1: To claim your weekly benefits, also known as certifying for benefits during your first week of unemployment, it is best to do so online. Visit www.labor.ny.gov/signin and log in to access your account. Once in "My Online Services," navigate to the "Unemployment Services" section, then locate the option to "Claim Weekly Benefits" to proceed accordingly. If you are unable to find the exact buttons as described, it could be due to a delay in system updates following your recent claim. Despite this, ensure to complete this step as soon as possible as per the provided instructions.

After submitting my UIB claim on Saturday, 3/14/[redacted], an unemployment representative contacted me to inquire if my layoff was related to the Coronavirus. I am employed at a dental office that closed, except for emergencies, due to the Coronavirus. Despite being informed that there would be no waiting period, when I checked my status, they indicated a waiting week for the week ending 3/15/[redacted]. They informed me that my first payment for week ending 3/22/[redacted] would be issued on a card. I had initially requested direct deposit and provided my checking account information. However, I have not received the card to access my unemployment funds. Your help in resolving this matter and receiving my benefits is greatly appreciated. I understand the challenges they are facing currently and do not wish to cause any inconvenience. I retired from the NYS Labor Dept. Unemployment Division in [redacted] after 28 years of service. Please assist me in accessing my benefits. Thank you for your support, Marilyn K. D.

I attempted to file a claim on the New York Department of Labor website but encountered technical issues likely due to increased traffic from the virus situation. When I tried filing over the phone, it asked me numerous questions for 20 minutes. Instead of connecting me with a representative, it abruptly ended the call due to high volume. The system claimed my progress was saved, but subsequent calls indicated otherwise, making me repeat the process fruitlessly. Despite multiple attempts over four days, I have been unable to complete my claim and speak to a representative. I seek assistance to resolve this issue promptly.

I am currently facing a problem with my New York State unemployment benefits. My benefits ended just before the COVID shutdown in NYC, and now I am stuck in a loop on the labor department's website. When I try to file a new claim, I am redirected to a page informing me that my benefits have ended without an option to proceed with a new claim. I have attempted various methods to resolve this issue but have been unsuccessful. I believe that due to the high volume of claims during the pandemic, my situation might have been overlooked. I am hoping to connect with someone who can assist me in resetting my account so that I can file a new claim and continue receiving benefits. Thank you for your help.

I have been trying for a week to contact an advocate regarding my issues with completing my unemployment claim. Despite numerous calls and emails, I have not been able to speak with a live person since 3/19/[redacted]. The online system prompted me to contact a representative, but my efforts have been unsuccessful. I have been diligently attempting to reach out from 7:59 am to 5:00 pm, receiving only generic responses on the website at 9:58 pm without any actual assistance. As a result, I am facing financial hardship with no work, kids to support, and no clarity on what steps to take next. I am willing to provide my call log to demonstrate my persistence in seeking help. It seems that the high call volume might be causing delays in getting through to a representative. I kindly request a callback to address this issue promptly and potentially fix the online access problem for future convenience. The stress of this situation has been overwhelming this past week. Thank you.

I am having trouble completing my claim by calling [redacted]. Each time I call, I encounter issues such as the line being overloaded with calls or being prompted to speak with a representative to complete my claim only to have the call hang up due to unavailability of representatives. Today, 3/27/20, is the deadline for me to call and I am feeling quite frustrated. I just need to connect with a representative to finalize my claim filing. On top of this, it took a long time to even file my initial claim last week. Thank you in advance for any assistance with this matter.
