What: *They wouldn’t be able to open an account for our ** yr old daughter even though we had her EU passport, notary verified extract from the population information system in Finland and visa with us. *The whole staff was not knowing what to do and the Asian manager said we can’t open it for you cause we can’t vetify her identity. Seriously???!!!!**Apparently The extract (which is our nations birth certificate) didn’t show a document number you would use here in Australia for Australian birth certificates. *I’m no Einstein but isn’t that obvious??! You must have document number for the non Australian documents.. so the initial problem was your system but the manager decided account can’t be opened without Australian IDs. He was looking at our flight tickets but I don’t think he got anything out of them tbh.*How an earth did our child come to Sydney? Seriously??? **Where: At NAB branch in Cremorne NSW**I’m extremely disappointed with this branch. When I opened my own account they made mistakes with ordering debit cards but didn’t inform us customers. *My card order was done by this same Asian male manager. Over a week after the debit card order I got suspicious cause it was supposed to come earlier and went asking for it. There was another man working at the time who said it was never ordered. He was looking and looking and said my name rings bells - I was one of the customers whose names came up that day when they had issues.*He explained that same day other orders didn’t apparently go through either but why an earth didn’t they let us customers know??? I waited a week.. They knew exactly which accounts were opened “that” day. This happened right before Christmas. So I had to wait another week to be able to get access to my account - only to get a letter few days after reordering the card saying “we’ve cancelled your second debit card”!? **What is this NAB, honestly??? *One branch with only one customer having this amount of issues?**Please contact me I need my daughters account open plus would love to know is it really your policy to throw customers out with ALL valid IDs? And what AN EARTH is this nonsense with card orders? Same person was behind it all so can’t be coincidence. :( Such a disappointment and very unreliable banking business.
