I have been on full-time salary, but it's currently on hold. I also run a side business which I've always reported on my taxes. This work is flexible and necessary to cover my expenses. When answering unemployment questions, it seems like I've found part-time work, but that's not the case. I plan to continue the part-time work long-term as supplemental income. Should I report this ongoing income that significantly affects my total income? Yes or No? Regarding my salaried job, we're slowly getting it operational again to cover business expenses, but I haven't been paid yet. I might start receiving pay in September or October if the business starts doing well. Should I mention that I'm working, even though I'm not being paid - considering the uncertainty of when and how much I'll be paid for the hours worked? Yes or No? Thank you.

I am experiencing delays with my reopened claim. After discovering my application was deleted despite having a confirmation number, I faced issues submitting files. I have contacted the re-employment number multiple times with limited success. Despite being told my claim was deleted due to filing a new claim instead of reopening, I see no new claim status online or through automated phone services, only my original claim from 12/29. I have reached out to the governor's office and emailed NJ Unemployment, receiving responses instructing me that no action is required. However, the situation remains unresolved. Contacting them at 8:35 results in a message due to high call volume, advising me to try again the next day. I am seeking clarity and assistance with this confusing ordeal.

I had a terrible experience with the reemployment center. They hung up on me, lied about reopening my case, limited my call attempts, and ignored my emails. They even deleted my application without notifying me. When I tried to file for a claim, they accused me of filing a new claim instead of reopening an existing one. It's frustrating because the system directs you to the same application for both. They are unhelpful, unresponsive, and misleading. I was told not to call back for two weeks, which affected my appeal options. This whole situation is a complete joke.

Hello, I applied for unemployment benefits on May 17, [redacted], and went back to work on June 26, [redacted]. Throughout this period, I did not receive any unemployment payments. After my return to work, I got a letter about claiming benefits online. I submitted claims for all the weeks I was unemployed until June 26, [redacted], through the unemployment portal. So far, I received only one payment of $[redacted] without the additional $[redacted] from the Cares Act. Unemployment still owes me the remaining payments and the $[redacted] weekly from the Cares Act. I have tried calling the Unemployment numbers provided and emailed them, but only received generic responses. I am struggling to get the money owed to me. Unemployment indicates that those approved will receive back pay, but it's challenging to reach them. If you can assist, please reach out via phone, text, or email. Thank you. My contact number is [redacted], and I'm Nora Torres. I am available between 10:30am - 8pm, with a lunch break at 4:30pm.

Dear Sir/Madam, I have been a resident of New Jersey for the past 20 years and have been unemployed for over 6 months. Despite numerous attempts to contact the unemployment office to file a claim, I have been unable to reach an operator. After entering my information, the automated system prompts me to wait for a representative, only to inform me later that there are too many calls for the day. I registered online in April and was scheduled for an interview, but no one contacted me. Without speaking to a representative, I am unable to file my claim electronically. I am in desperate need of assistance and am willing to visit a physical location if needed, although all offices are closed according to your website. As a longtime taxpayer, seeking support for the first time, I humbly request your help in finding a solution to my situation. Sincerely, Ramu C.

Hi, I applied for unemployment at the end of June. I received an email stating I was approved and should start certifying on July 5th. When I tried to certify, it said "unpayable at this time." After calling, I was informed of an appointment for further information on August 17th. However, I later received an email confirming my approval and stating I was paid for three weeks from the weeks I certified until then, and the appointment was canceled. I also received a letter in the mail with the same information. Despite this, when I attempted to certify the following week, it still said "unpayable." It has been 7 weeks now, and the issue persists. I have called 4 times, and I have been told it's a system glitch that should be resolved soon. I am anxious as I am owed a significant amount and am struggling to pay my bills. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am seeking assistance regarding my unemployment claim. I have been diligently filing my weekly benefits since July for my claim that started on 5/17/20. Unfortunately, my benefits are still pending, and I do not understand the reason for the delay. It is crucial that I receive an update on the status of my claim as I am struggling to cover my bills. I am a single parent to my son, who depends on SSI due to his special needs (autism). Despite numerous attempts to contact the relevant authorities via phone and email over the past few months, I have not received any clarification. My financial situation is becoming increasingly untenable, and I urge someone to please provide me with the necessary information. I appreciate any assistance that can be offered. Thank you. -Kim L. Subject: Documentation Required for Unemployment Claim I have recently received a request for additional documentation for my unemployment claim and have submitted various documents for review. These include my W2s for [redacted] and [redacted], a doctor's note confirming my ability to return to work, the notice of determination for emergency unemployment compensation, and any other relevant documents I could provide. Despite certifying weekly for the 13-week extension I was granted, I did not receive payments until I contacted the Department of Labor in June [redacted]. After getting in touch, I received the remaining 10 weeks of the extension on a debit card and a federal assistance payment of $[redacted] was deposited into my bank account on 06/22. However, my payments have since stopped, and I encountered issues with my bank account information and pin needing to be reset. Although I was informed that an additional 20 weeks are being processed, I am now unable to certify. I am confused about the request for more documentation as it seems my entire claim has been reset despite resolving the initial payment delay. I am hopeful for a swift resolution and the release of the remaining owed payments. Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Best regards, DD

I have received this message for the third time without receiving any payment. My work hours were reduced due to Covid-19, impacting my weekly salary. Despite being told that I qualify, my claims keep getting denied. Last year, my hours were not restored due to the pandemic, leading me to work part-time. Although I filed a claim in July, it actually dates back to when Covid-19 started in July [redacted]. I appreciate any assistance in this matter. Thank you.

Hello, My mother has been applying for benefits since the end of March, and until early August, everything went smoothly. In August, the NJDOL inquired if she had another account for funds, to which she responded that she did not. Despite certifying her weekly benefits since 8/8/20, she hasn't received any credits for these weeks. I reached out to NJDOL twice via email but only received automated responses. The reemployment center has not been accepting calls for the past 3 weeks, making it impossible to discuss this matter with anyone. It has been 8 weeks now, and there has been no mail or email communication regarding the status of her case. I would appreciate any guidance or assistance with this issue. Thank you, Anjali A.

Initially, I held two part-time positions; Job #1 consisted of Monday to Thursday shifts for 34 hours per week alongside five coworkers in a 14,[redacted]-square-foot enclosed facility. Job #2 involved Friday and Saturday shifts for 13 hours weekly with up to nine colleagues in a 1,[redacted]-square-foot retail space open to the public. In mid-April, I opted to stop working on Fridays but maintained my Saturday shifts for five hours with two coworkers as a precaution against Covid exposure. This decision was made to minimize risks. On 8/2/20, Employer #1 informed me that my hours would be reduced from 34 to 17 hours per week for reasons unrelated to Covid. Recently, on 9/28/20, Employer #1 terminated my employment entirely due to Covid-related issues. I submitted a New Jersey unemployment claim (Claim #[redacted]3) on 8/2/20 seeking compensation solely for Job #1, not Job #2. However, the questions during the filing process were sometimes unclear as they didn't differentiate between the two jobs. As a result, I haven't received any compensation yet. Should I have filed separate claims initially? Considering the new developments with Job #1, should I submit a second claim focusing on the termination as of 9/28/20?

Hello, I am currently receiving unemployment benefits in New Jersey due to a decrease in income caused by the pandemic. I have been on this benefit for about 22 weeks. Recently, I was notified that I will be laid off completely next week, resulting in a total loss of income. Should I file a new claim based on this total loss of employment instead of my previous claim for reduced income? If I do file a new claim, will the number of weeks I can receive benefits reset? In addition to losing my New Jersey job, I was also working as a consultant for a New York company from January to April this year. This job was on a [redacted] basis and income from it has not been reported to the government yet. Can this income be used in the calculation of my unemployment benefits, and if so, what steps should I take to include it? I appreciate any guidance you can provide as I am in urgent need of recalculating my unemployment benefits. Thank you for your assistance.

I made an error while filing for weekly benefits over the summer, leading to a claim issue until I started school in September. Even after speaking to an agent and being assured my case would be reviewed by a specialist with a decision to follow via email or text, I have not received any updates. Every call to the central Jersey unemployment line ([redacted]) results in being told the agents are busy. I seek guidance on how to claim the owed benefits or to reach an agent more efficiently.

I am facing a delay in my unemployment payment. I successfully claimed the funds but have not received them. Despite contacting unemployment and participating in a phone interview, I was assured a callback within three days. However, no one reached out, and the $5,[redacted] is still missing. After sending multiple emails for over three months, I have not received any replies. Each time I call, I am asked to try again the next day, prolonging the issue. Additionally, my new job terminated on October 1st due to Covid-related challenges. As I am unable to file a new claim while the previous one is unresolved, I encountered another roadblock when trying to claim recent work history. The system indicated that I returned to work, prompting the need to contact unemployment for a solution. Unfortunately, reaching them for assistance has proven futile, leaving me in a precarious financial situation amidst job hunting.

Hello, I submitted a claim on May 31, [redacted], but I am still waiting for any assistance or benefits. When I try to certify for weekly benefits, it indicates that my claim is invalid, but I'm unsure what the issue might be. My financial situation is becoming critical as my ability to pay rent and utilities relies on this support. I had a phone appointment on September 8, [redacted], over two months ago, where the agent promised to follow up on the problem with my claim, but I have not heard back. I am in urgent need of assistance. Please reply promptly. Thank you, L. A.
