After you have exhausted your Unemployment benefits, you may be eligible for an additional 13 weeks under Pandemic Unemployment Compensation. To access the 13-week extension, no action is required if you are currently receiving or have applied for unemployment benefits. The extension will automatically be available once your current balance is depleted. If you do not fall into this category, the following scenarios apply: SCENARIO A: If you filed for unemployment on or after July 8, [redacted], have not worked since 2[redacted], and have exhausted your balance, wait for notification from NJ DOL before certifying for benefits. SCENARIO B: If you filed for unemployment on or after July 8, [redacted], have worked since 2[redacted], file a new claim if you haven't already done so. SCENARIO C: If you filed for unemployment benefits on or after July 1, [redacted], and have not used all 26 weeks of benefits, reopen your claim if it is currently closed and begin certifying for benefits again. I understand that you are having difficulty getting in touch with NJ unemployment to confirm details about your claim.

Hello, I called to claim my corresponding week. Everything was going well until the end of my last question. All the answers were correct, but they told me to speak with a representative. I've been trying to reach a representative for two days, calling every minute without hanging up, but they are always busy. How can I claim my corresponding week if they still don't answer? All my weeks have gone smoothly until now. Please advise me on what to do. Thank you. I understand the call volume but I've been dialing non-stop from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. I appreciate your help. - Oh, I live in Jersey City, NJ.

Hello, I wanted to share my recent experience with unemployment benefits. I had my interview on April 15th, and that was also the last day I received any benefits. On April 14th, my boss informed me that our company would be receiving a grant to pay full salaries, so I disclosed this information during my interview the next day. They mentioned putting a block on my benefits to avoid any issues. Unfortunately, we later found out the grant fell through, and I haven't received any payments since then. I've been struggling to reach anyone at the unemployment office to resolve this. A conversation with the right person would help me greatly. Thank you.

I submitted my benefits claim on 3/22/[redacted]. Every time I checked online, it showed as "pending." Today, a voicemail informed me that my case was being postponed to August due to a missed call. However, the contact number was blocked. Trying to reach out only led to long waits on hold to hear the lines were busy. I found my claim status now shows "filed" with a weekly benefit of $0. This situation has been frustrating. Please advise on how to resolve this issue.

I followed all the necessary steps. I have two jobs, one is temporarily closed due to COVID-19. My other job pays me every two weeks, with a take-home pay of $[redacted].00. I applied for benefits but haven't received any money yet. Today, I noticed that my payment was reduced to $0.00, despite my efforts to resolve this issue. Dear community, I'm facing a challenge with my unemployment benefits. After informing the staff during my April 15th interview that my company was receiving a grant and we would not need unemployment benefits, they placed a block on my payments. Sadly, the grant fell through, and I have not received any benefits since April 15th. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to reach anyone at the unemployment office to resolve this issue. I am struggling financially and need assistance to remove the block on my account. Any advice on how to get in touch with the unemployment office would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help. Best regards, F.V.

I filed a claim which was processed incorrectly. My last day of work was on March 20, [redacted], but the form stated late April as my last working day. After numerous failed attempts to contact them, I finally reached out last Friday. After providing my Claimant ID# [redacted]16 and explaining the situation, the representative assured me the matter would be rectified. They mentioned that it would take 24 hours for the system to update. The next day when I checked the claim status, it showed that I don't have a valid claim on file. I need assistance with my unemployment claims. I started filing on 03/23/20 in Maryland but haven't received any notifications. I filed continuously until May 3, [redacted]. I was advised to contact New Jersey unemployment due to my recent work there. I filed a claim with NJ unemployment last week, but when trying to file additional claims, the website is asking for a new claim, which I've already submitted. Now, both NJ and MD are prompting me to file claims. When I attempt to file in NJ, the system won't allow it, and my information is missing. I've tried contacting them without success, and I'm feeling frustrated and unsure of what steps to take next.

Hello, my name is J.M. I filed for unemployment on March 29, [redacted], and have been claiming benefits since then, but it shows as pending. I received a mail regarding an appointment, but it had outdated information from my previous job at Lightbridge Academy, Hoboken, NJ. My new job was at Lightbridge Academy. It's been nearly three months, and I keep getting emails to claim my weeks, but sometimes the questionnaire doesn't show up correctly, or it claims I missed a week. I've been trying to get in touch via email and phone calls but can't reach anyone. I've been attempting to call early in the morning without success. Could someone please assist? Thank you.

I submitted a claim at the end of April [redacted] due to COVID-19 affecting my hours at work in an out patient facility. While not every week saw reduced hours, some weeks showed a 20% decrease. I am still awaiting any notification regarding the initial benefit I applied for. When I tried to certify for benefits last Saturday (May 16, [redacted]), my claim was closed unusually quickly, even though I knew I wouldn't receive benefits for that week due to working full hours. I'm concerned about receiving payment for the first week I applied for and unsure how to certify for subsequent weeks with reduced hours. I've tried calling multiple phone numbers, but I am unable to wait to speak with a representative. I need assistance to resolve this issue and have someone look into my account promptly.

I am from NY and have been employed there for 5 months, following 2 years of work in NJ. Due to COVID, I was laid off and advised to file for unemployment in NY. After an 8-week wait, I was informed by a NY DOL representative that I didn't meet the requirements for benefits in NY due to my short work duration, suggesting I apply in NJ instead due to my longer employment history and earnings there. I recently applied in NJ, restarting the process.

I filed for unemployment on August 4, [redacted] after being laid off. I received benefits for 26 weeks until my claim showed a zero balance by February 1, [redacted]. I have not worked since then and need information about the 13-week PEUC extension. The NJ Unemployment website advises to wait for notification from NJ DOL before certifying for benefits. When should I expect to hear about the extension so I can claim it? Due to the Covid Pandemic, I have no job prospects or income since February. This situation might leave me homeless soon without financial assistance. I urgently need guidance on my eligibility for the PEUC extension. Kindly provide information promptly. Thank you. - Deborah G. Phone: [redacted]

Subject: Urgent Assistance Needed with Unemployment Claim Hello, I am writing to seek help regarding my unemployment claim. My Claimant ID # is [redacted]44. I submitted my application online on 4/12/[redacted] but have not received any payments as of 5/27/[redacted]. I believe there may have been errors in my application. I mistakenly answered "NO" to being ready, willing, and able to work full-time, and "YES" to dependency allowance. I have been attempting to contact the NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT without success. Despite receiving notifications, like one on 4/27/[redacted] stating I would claim benefits on 4/29/[redacted], and a NOTICE OF DETERMINATION letter on 5/1/[redacted] requesting proof of care for direct COVID-19 impact before payment, I have faced delays. I work as a Manicurist and Pedicurist at Krazy Nails Salon, which closed in March [redacted]. I have been out of work due to COVID-19 and have two children to care for. I appealed online over two weeks ago but have not received a response. I solely aimed to apply for Unemployment Insurance due to the pandemic to support my family. I have been struggling to file a claim for the past 2 months. The online system does not address the specific issue I am facing. When trying to claim benefits, it states I already have an open claim. When attempting to file for weekly benefits, it incorrectly indicates that I have returned to work due to COVID-19, which is not the case. I have been stuck in this loop for 2 months now and the voice messages instruct me to call back the next day each time I try. Despite my attempts at various hours, I receive the same response. I am in urgent need of assistance as I am unable to pay my bills. I am hoping for a more helpful and personalized response from the New Jersey unemployment office rather than a generic email reply.

Subject: Urgent Assistance Needed with Unemployment Claim Hello, I have been attempting to get updates on my furlough status without success. I applied on 5/4/20 and received a confirmation # but have not received any further updates on approval or denial. When I check my claim status, it shows no claim and prompts me to file a new one. However, when I try to file a new claim, it indicates there is an existing one. Additionally, when I try to certify for benefits, it wrongly states that I have returned to work when I have not. The lack of income is making it impossible to buy groceries for my children and keep up with bills, especially since my savings are depleted. I am in urgent need of assistance as I am unsure how to manage without any income coming in. Thank you for your help. Best, Melissa L. Subject: Assistance Needed with New Jersey Unemployment Claim I would like to outline the issues I have been facing regarding my NJ Department of Labor Unemployment Claim for better clarity: - My workplace, Ocean Casino/Resort in Atlantic City, closed on March 22, [redacted], following orders from NJ Governor Phil Murphy. - On March 22, [redacted], I submitted a claim for NJ unemployment benefits. - Despite being informed by my employer that laid-off employees would receive pay until March 26, my NJDOL claim reflected $0 owed in benefits when I checked on April 8, [redacted]. - I encountered difficulties certifying for benefits on April 1 and April 8, [redacted], receiving a message that my certification could not be processed. - In attempts to address the issue, I filed a claim with PA (with earnings of only $[redacted]), eventually cancelling it as per NJDOL instructions. - Despite the cancellation, I faced challenges filing a new claim in NJ due to the system recognizing an existing claim. - Despite efforts to rectify the situation, I have been unable to collect benefits since my layoff, leading to severe financial strain. I am urgently seeking assistance in resolving these persistent issues with my NJDOL Unemployment claim to access the funds owed to me. Sincerely, Vincent D. Hello, I'm currently facing an issue with my unemployment benefits. Every two weeks, $1,[redacted] is being deducted from my balance, but only $[redacted] is being deposited into my account. I visited the Unemployment office, but unfortunately, they were closed due to the pandemic. I'm trying to figure out how to contact them because it's essential to have assistance during these times when so many people are out of work and relying on these benefits. It's concerning to see the office unmanned when so many individuals are in need of help and support. I hope to find a way to resolve this matter promptly.
