I was trying to find a decent room for the night of ***-*** by scrolling websites with photos representing the appearance of the outside of the Motel as well as the inside. What I got?! A complete scam, a website that posted misleading photos to make a motel, in very poor and dirty conditions, look good by using photos from a different location!!! ... To whom it may concern: *I’ve written to a few different email addresses associated with my transaction in which I booked this Motel * room (on ***-***) and I have not heard ANYTHING back from ANYONE. I live close to Springfield, MA which is only about a half hour away from the Motel * (located on * National Dr. Windsor Locks, CT) that my daughter and I stayed in. We were supposed to end up going to New York from there, the following day, however there were some issues that ended up getting in our way...a large contribution to that and things going even worse was the conditions in which the motel and (especially) our room were in. We were ready to relax, in what we thought was going to be a beautiful, clean, nice looking room at a nice looking and safe motel. Why did we have that impression and book that room, at that motel??? It was due to the photos that represented this particular location, that were posted on the website, only to leave us to be completely let down, disappointed, disgusted, and VERY uncomfortable as we finally found our way to our room,(we had problems because it was very dark out and the girl at the front desk apparently felt as if taking a moment to give us simple directions was way too much effort...all we got was “It’s that way” with a pointed finger to the back of her) The room we were assigned was **** (which I have several pictures of if you would like to see them!!) It was absolutely filthy. It looked like someone had just brought a prostitute in there, did drugs, smoked cigarettes, and had some type of sexual relations on one of the beds which had some type of nasty substance on it, which is why my daughter and I both slept in the other bed together....which, unfortunately still did not give us much comfort or feeling of it being much cleaner. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room, (I’m a non-smoker, as is my ** year old daughter) but it wreaked of cigarette smoke, had SEVERAL burn holes in the blankets,(again, I have photos) and THE BATTERIES IN THE SMOKE ALARM HAD BEEN REMOVED!! Quite a fire hazard and against code...Also there were bugs all over the inside of the room, there was NO soap left by the sink or anywhere else in the room (I called the girl at the front desk to ask about getting some soap and also to find out where the vending machine was, to which she answered “I don’t have any soap and the vending machine is ‘on the other side of the pool’, I politely asked her to please elaborate on where the vending machines were, and again, all she said was “On the other side of the pool” and then HUNG UP on me. Unacceptable. We never got to the vending machine(s) due to her lack of doing her job and we didn’t feel safe, at all, walking around there in the middle of the night, but boy would it have been nice to have some soap to at least wash our hands! So we had to go over to the nearby *-** to buy our own!! That is to buy soap and snacks (because we couldn’t find the vending machine) The shower had hair all over it and the bottom of the shower floor looked as if it had not been cleaned for a very long extended period of time, the girl working at the front desk was rude and of absolutely NO help for anything!... internet access was supposed to be included-it did not work and the girl at the front desk said,”I don’t know what to tell you.” Gee thanks. Oh and I don’t want to forget to include that when she handed me our key card she also handed me, on a ripped off corner of a piece of paper, the room number...real classy. When we got to the room the first thing we noticed was the duct tape securing the door handle*key access equipment to the door, there was also duct tape on the inside of the door also to secure the handle, the room number was barely visible due to a very sloppy paint job and tape covering it up. The overhang, immediately outside the door, looked like it was going to collapse due to serious wood rot. I strongly believe I have every right to get a refund for this room. We didn’t check in until close to mid-night, it took us a while to get settled, after all, we even had to go buy soap and snacks at *-**, no thanks to the girl at the front desk, and we actually contemplated just driving home right then due to the extremely poor and dirty condition of our room, not to mention that we didn’t feel very safe, my daughter was terrified to try to sleep, that’s totally unacceptable!!! Speaking of lack of sleep and a lot of frustration, check out wasn’t until **pm but of course we were rudely awakened by someone non-stop pounding on our door at *am. We had a difficult enough time trying to fall asleep because of the filthiness, the horrible smell, all of the bugs....we felt all creepy crawly because they were everywhere. My daughter and I had to share a bed because there was that nasty, gross looking substance on the other bed. There were SO many problems with this place, it appeared NOTHING like it did in the very misleading photos on the website, which ultimately were the reason I choose to book that room! Then the inside was all that much worse! The girl at the front desk was so rude on so many levels on several occasions...because I had questions trying to access the internet*get WiFi (which never happened), she didn’t care to explain to me where the vending machine(s)? were, instead she hung up on me!! I asked the woman working in the morning if the girl that had been working last night was new or something...she was a bit hesitant to say anything but asked.”Why? Was there a problem?” I explained some of the issues but honestly at that point, with our plans to head to New York already ruined, I just really didn’t even want to think about it anymore. *I’m a professional influencer, it’s my job to write reviews for multiple products, services, hotels*motels, credit cards...really just about anything you can imagine...I’ve yet to write a review for this particular Motel *, I’ve stayed at other Motel * locations and they were great but I’m pretty sure I will NOT be choosing Motel * anytime soon if ever again, especially determined upon how this situation is handled.... I would like a full refund and believe that we ***% deserve that refund. My daughter and I had a special agenda for that weekend, our birthday is the same day and was coming up, the stay at the motel was supposed to be one part of celebrating our special day and we were supposed to head to New York City from there the next day, BUT due to the lack of sleep because of how uncomfortable we were with the conditions of it, how dirty it was, the BUGS, we couldn’t shower-there was NO WAY we were going to shower with someone else’s hair all over it and how extremely dirty the shower floor was (it was just a stand up shower, no tub, enclosed in glass or plastic??). and just how all-around uncomfortable and unnerving it was being in that room altogether. That was what pretty much caused things to ultimately really fall apart, left us so sad, feeling defeated, frustrated and seriously bummed out that we were treated so poorly and in unacceptable conditions! No shower, no sleep, our trip to NYC completely ruined! I held my tears back until my daughter finally fell asleep, she asked me to stay awake until after she fell asleep due to how unsafe she felt *( I bawled my eyes out, I felt like I failed my daughter, failed at everything that was supposed to be a really fun time, it was going to be her first visit to New York City!!...the wonderful child she is, she tried to act like it was ok, but I know my baby, she was so disappointed and that broke my heart. Honestly, I couldn’t even hide MY own disappointment, It was awful and it should not have been. *I’m respectfully asking for a refund of $**.**, which I paid for via PayPal to Hotels.com. That doesn’t include the $*** I lost for the hotel I booked in New York that we were supposed to stay at the next night, ***-****I believe whomever played a role in presenting the room, as they did with the photos on the website, was seriously misleading with those photos of the Motel * they showed AND the room with double beds in it. In fact, I do not believe for a second that the photos of the outside of the Motel * that was shown on the website (which I have screenshots of to compare) was the actual location we stayed at. Even the photos representing the room...not even close! The photo of the outside of the Motel was absolutely NOT the same place that it stated it was!! It was EXTREMELY frustrating because it was SO dirty, including the stand up only shower, enclosed in glass (or plastic?) with HAIR all over it and the shower floor looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in two years. There was NO soap in the room, we checked in around midnight but dealt with several hassles including the girl at the front desk being extremely rude and it was as if she went out of her way NOT to help. She told me she didn’t have any soap! My daughter and I had to go to a nearby *-** to get soap and snacks. This was after calling the front desk to ask where the vending machine was, she answered,”On the other side of the pool.” And then abruptly HUNG UP ON ME! My daughter and I have the same birthday!! This was supposed to be a NICE pit stop before heading to NYC the following day, BUT due to severely poor conditions of the motel room we didn’t get much sleep and there was absolutely NO WAY we were going to shower in a disgusting, gross, hairy, dirty shower...our New York trip was ruined so not only did I pay $**.** for an awful room but also lost $*** on the room I booked in New York that we planned to stay in the next night! NOT HAPPY. So disappointed and sad. I still feel horrible that our super fun weekend was a total failure. It’s not a good feeling when you feel like you’ve failed your child(ten) *(
A full refund for the night!*I would respectfully ask for a refund of $**.** to me for that stay in that awful, dirty, smelly, scary room with burn holes in the blankets, batteries removed from smoke alarms...after all it was my and my daughter’s birthday and our trip to NYC was ruined and cost me $*** for nothing!!!
I’ve traveled ALL around this country, I’ve stayed at a large number and variety of rooms, including other Motel * which were great, nothing like this one!! I’m not sure I’ll stay at another Motel * anytime soon, if ever!!! I’ve left raving good reviews for other Motel * locations. I am a professional influencer....we will see how this situation is handled before I write anything to my broad audience...
