Since upgrading to Windows 10, I've noticed that Cortana has been the main technician for my PC desktop. Unfortunately, I've been experiencing severe abuse on my computer, making it nearly impossible to use. The Microsoft support team advised me to report this issue to ensure the safety of my computer. Despite having all the necessary software installed, the abusive actions persist. These include frequent disconnections of my screen every 4-8 minutes, preventing me from using my computer effectively. Additionally, the technician limits my access to other devices and websites, only allowing the use of Microsoft services like Bing and Outlook, which is highly disruptive. The interference extends to my email on Hotmail, where the same technician tampers with my messages regularly. The situation has affected my work as a political commentator, as important documents are altered or deleted without my consent. This behavior is not only intrusive but also hinders my ability to work efficiently from home. I urge Microsoft to address this abnormal interference promptly to safeguard my privacy and important documents. Thank you for your assistance. C.M.

As a retired military member, I bought a laptop at Lackland AFB in December [redacted]. A friend set it up for me, but when I recently tried to use it for an upcoming January [redacted] trip, I encountered some issues. While at my son's house during Christmas, I tried to set up my hotspot device purchased in December [redacted]. During this process, my laptop needed 4 updates and I was notified that my Outlook account was outdated. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my password, so I requested a reset. I asked for the code to be texted to my cell phone at [redacted] but only the last 2 digits were visible. Despite several attempts to reset it online, I wasn't successful due to insufficient information. As a result, I was considering filing a complaint with the BBB until today around 2 PM when I managed to reset my password successfully. However, when I tried to log in with the new password, I was told my login credentials were incorrect. In my previous experience, I've needed assistance from a live person to resolve such issues. Kindly reset my account so I can access it. Thank you.

Dear Tech Support Supervisor, I am writing to address the issue I encountered on October 6, [redacted], with Microsoft customer support and the subsequent damage caused to my HP laptop. Following a password change error, I sought assistance from a tech agent who attempted to resolve the issue remotely. Unfortunately, after multiple unsuccessful attempts, I was informed that I needed to visit a Microsoft store or perform a complete PC reset, resulting in significant time and financial losses on my part. After seeking help from a local computer repair store, my laptop was eventually restored at an additional cost. I have incurred a total of $[redacted].00 in lost income and repair expenses due to this incident. I am requesting financial reimbursement for the damages caused and the inconvenience I have experienced throughout this process. I have attached the invoice for the repair services for your reference. I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response. Sincerely, J. Gerberding [redacted] Diplomat Court Marco Island, FL [redacted]

Lately, I've been experiencing issues with Microsoft Word not saving my documents properly. Yesterday, I lost a document, so I re-created the lost work on a new document today. I opened and closed it multiple times without any issues, but when I emailed it, the document appeared blank, including the attachment. I'm concerned and wondering why this is happening. Also, I have noticed that many of my documents are opening with a frozen toolbar, making it impossible to edit them. Any help on recovering the lost document and fixing the toolbar issue would be greatly appreciated.

Recently, my computer got infected by the Trojan virus BAT/Poweliks.A. It seems like a ransomware virus with a phone number and requests for payment to clear. I diligently ran all Windows updates, updated Windows Defender, and performed a full scan to address the infection. Now, I'm worried about ensuring that all viruses are completely removed and if it's safe to restart my computer. What steps should I take next?

During the holidays, I was gifted an external hard drive. I decided to reset my computer because it was running slowly. I transferred all my important files to the external hard drive and initiated the reset. Unfortunately, my Alienware Alpha is now stuck in a continuous loop of loading up, attempting automatic repair, and displaying a blue screen. The blue screen prompts me to set my time zone settings, but after clicking "next," it just says "just a moment" before restarting the computer. I simply want to reset my computer successfully and resume using it as before.

My husband brought his 2-year-old Surface Pro 4 to the Town Center Microsoft Store in Boca Raton for a diagnostic check on Friday, January 18, as the battery was not holding a charge. After being informed of a long wait time, he left the notebook for the test. On Monday, he was told the battery was leaking and the notebook was not repairable, offering a $[redacted] credit for a [redacted] notebook. When he went to pick up his notebook the next day, he was told to make an appointment, causing frustration. Despite reaching out to Tech Support and a supervisor, the options were limited to purchasing a new notebook or paying for repairs. Attempts to speak to the store manager were unsuccessful, and requests to ship the notebook were denied. The lack of customer service and solutions presented contrasted with the writer's positive experience as a longtime Apple user.

I received an email from what appears to be an Outlook-generated email address. The email states details about a vast coin collection that has been curated meticulously over 60 years, including coins ranging from pre-confederation to modern times. The sender, David M. Barron, mentions missing only five specific coins and provides a comprehensive description of the collection's contents. However, when attempting to reply to the email, I encountered a "[redacted]" error, indicating a non-existent mailbox. I kindly request the Outlook team's assistance in informing the sender of this issue to enable communication. While I understand that sharing personal details may not be possible, I hope that the Outlook team can reach out to David Barron on my behalf. Thank you.

Since Monday, January 28, [redacted], I have been facing an issue with my email account. Despite my efforts, I cannot delete the accumulating 3,[redacted] items in my deleted items folder. Every attempt to empty the folder seems to fail, and the items keep reappearing even when using various browsers. The situation is concerning as it is affecting my account storage and may lead to it getting disabled soon. I even sought help from Akshit Shood at the Microsoft Answer Desk, who provided me with case number #[redacted]. I urgently need the assistance of the Microsoft Webmail Support Team to resolve this problem before it escalates. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Tracy M.

I initially had Windows 7 or 8 Home Edition installed on my PC, but upgraded to Windows 10 Home Edition. Subsequently, I joined the Windows Insider Program and Xbox Live Insider Program for pre-release testing. I bought the Windows 10 Pro Upgrade from Microsoft Store on [redacted].02.02 at 7:50 AM CST, but I am unable to activate it. Although I have the receipt with the serial number, I can't find the original packaging. Surprisingly, my PC is registered in my Microsoft Account under devices. Despite speaking with multiple tech agents over the phone and chat, none of them called back after I provided my phone number for potential disconnections.

I am currently having trouble recovering my two email accounts, my main account [redacted] and my alternative [redacted] They have both been recently locked due to "suspicious activity." Despite trying to fill out the recovery forms, I have not been successful. When I contacted Microsoft, they provided me with a link for assistance. However, the assistance from a technician named Zeus did not provide new information, and I am unable to reply to ask for further clarification. Access to my emails is crucial as my financial accounts, bills, work, and more are linked to these addresses. I have attached the message I tried to send to Zeus for reference. Thank you for your help. Hi Zeus, thank you for your response. I have re-submitted the form with additional information. I did not encounter any security questions or phone number request. How can I access these steps? I also read that the form may not work if two-step verification is enabled, which I am unsure about. If the form is not successful, are there alternative steps or questions I can answer? For instance, could verifying the companies I pay bills to help confirm my identity as the owner of [redacted]? I hope we can resolve this promptly and effectively. Concerning security, I believe these issues arose from signing in on different devices recently, like my phone requiring multiple setups due to repairs and logging in at the library to print resumes.

I recently received two similar emails on my Outlook.com account alerting me about unusual activity on my account. Upon clicking the link to investigate, I was prompted to go through a verification process rather than being able to change my password directly. Despite entering all the required information accurately, the verification system continued to claim it wasn't sufficient to verify my identity. This account is specifically for my Xbox, making it crucial for me to maintain access.

I am currently re-downloading Windows 10, and the process started approximately 24 hours ago. I am wondering how much longer this may take or if there is a problem that would allow me to turn off the computer. The initial reason for the download is that my computer has been slow, randomly shutting down, and generally performing poorly. This computer is about 11 years old and has accumulated a lot of data over the years. I have never really backed it up or deleted anything, which could explain why the download is taking so long, but I cannot confirm this for sure.

I am encountering an issue while setting up my laptop. After resetting it, I am stuck on the screen where I input my time zone, keyboard layout, and country. Upon completing the information required and clicking "next," I am redirected to a screen with the message "Why did my PC restart?" at the top. Despite clicking next, it proceeds to load for a few minutes and then loops back to the initial screen prompting me to input the time zone, keyboard layout, and so on. I have attempted to repeat the process several times, but the problem persists.

I have had three email accounts with Microsoft, and all three have been compromised. I am extremely disappointed in Microsoft's inability to protect my accounts. Each time I have important contacts and information that I now have to change. My work as a firefighter depends on one of these accounts. My second job at a bar has also been affected because I can't access my emails. Furthermore, my college account is no longer accessible. I am upset and just want to recover my old accounts to retrieve important information. The alternative email I have set up is anthonyrockergmail.com. Please contact me there to update me on the situation.

Hello, I am having trouble accessing my account as it shows the message "It appears someone else may be using your account." I have attempted to recover my account by providing all the required information on Microsoft's account recovery page. However, I received a response stating that the information provided was insufficient to verify my ownership of the account. I am currently in Vienna, Austria, and I am aware that my boyfriend accessed the account from Brisbane, Australia with my permission. We believe the account may have been blocked following this access. Could you please assist me in restoring access to my account or prompt me with alternate verification questions to resolve this issue? Thank you for your help, Maxime

I have Windows Vista on my laptop, possibly Windows 7. Years ago, I used to have 8mm camcorders that I took to work, on vacation, and mostly used around the house to capture moments with my family, pets, and more. A friend gave me a Dazzle 80 digital video creator that I connected to Windows Movie Maker to edit and burn videos onto CDs. I made music videos with my original songs, which turned out quite well. Recently, I got an 8mm camcorder to revisit old memories recorded on numerous tapes and potentially create new videos. However, when I tried to connect the Dazzle 80, my system couldn't find the driver for it. I attempted to download one without success, and after seeking advice on an online forum, I experimented with compatibility modes with no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - John M.

I am unable to access my Hotmail account ([redacted]). When I attempted to log in, I received a message stating that someone else may be using my account. I tried to recover my account via the recovery form but received the following message: “Your security is important to us. Our thorough account recovery process is designed to safeguard you from any potential malicious activity.” I seek assistance in resolving this issue and regaining access to my longstanding Hotmail account. I wish to retain this account rather than creating a new one. Thank you. Kind regards, Aisha

My daughter's Dell Inspiron with Windows 10 locked itself after we received a Microsoft Alert stating her computer was compromised. We contacted the service number, and the technician explained that there were failed attempts to access our IP address. He suggested purchasing $[redacted] - $[redacted] worth of protection software for all computers in our house. I hesitated when he pressured me to buy the software immediately without consulting my husband. He even asked me to involve my husband at his workplace to make the purchase. When I refused, he removed himself from her computer but planned to follow up regarding the software purchase. I am unsure if this is a standard practice from Microsoft. Can issues like this be resolved over the phone?
