I think I have been hacked... I was checking emails when the screen flashed with a message that someone was trying to take over my computer and systems... also there was a recording that stated that I should not turn off my computer or try to restart as it would cause the hacker to have full access to all my files... the recording said to call a toll free phone number for help... this kept going on and on and on..*I got a tech who claimed to be an employee of Microsoft and asked me several questions about what was on the screen etc. He gained assess to the system (don't remember giving him ok to do so) and began flipping from page to page. Not sure where all he went but ended up telling me that I did not pay for a renewing of some contract to receive down loads that should have come. He said that because of that non of the security systems was working and I was vonerable for someone to take over my system.... this went on and on for quite some time... he then said that for an amount of $***.** I would be covered for * years.. for $***.** I would be covered for LIFE... He kept trying to get me to do a Vertual check on the computer to cover the charges. I told him I would have to put it on a Credit Card as I did not have sufficient funds in my checking account and would HAVE to put it on a CC. After beating around the bush for quite some time... ANOTHER guy by the name of Andrew came on the line and we went round and round again... He took the CC info and said he would try and run it but he wasn't sure he could get it to go thru. I told Andrew that I was not comfortable with this whole deal. He said he was with Microsoft and brought up a screen on the computer that showed his "so called" name and listed all about him with his employee number and contact phone number. I guess I sort of let my guard down at that point. He again said he would try and run the card and would call me back when the "System Clean-up" was complete. He called back to say that the CC transaction would not go thru and that I should be getting a text of email from the bank and that I should call them to tell them that "ALL" was ok and to pay out the amount. I told him I have never gotten such a request from my bank . Being he was still in my system he kept checking my email to see if such a message would come thru. I told him to keep trying that maybe the banks system was down for updating or something. he said he would and he returned control of my computer to me. He said he would check back with me in the morning... In the interim my bank did STOP the payment because of the strange amount as well as the company name that came across was not Microsoft, but AIRBUS and the address was a photo store someplace in Canada... The bank has now closed that account and will be issuing me new CC under a different number... I have this guys name (??) and his employee number and would like to know if he is or ever was an employee of Microsoft or maybe he stole that information also...
