I have been attempting to obtain my driver's license for nearly three weeks now without success. As a 68-year-old with disabilities and type 2 diabetes, having my license is essential for accessing my medications and groceries. I am requesting assistance from a live representative to resolve this issue and streamline the process by paying all the necessary fees upfront and having my license sent to me directly. It would greatly ease my worries if someone could reach out and arrange an afternoon appointment as I rarely leave my home due to concerns over the virus. I have encountered difficulties navigating the website due to repeated error messages regarding my username and password, despite no changes on my end. I am willing to pay any additional fees, including a late fee, to ensure everything is in order promptly. Please contact me at [redacted] or via email at [redacted] to finalize the details. I aim to have the appointment scheduled at the SOS location near the North End Kroger off Kraft Rd. in Port Huron, Michigan [redacted].

I have been unsuccessful in all attempts both online and via phone call, and I need to follow up on a past contact with Michigan SOS regarding my husband's expired driver's license. We are out of state and need to have his license renewed so we can fly back to Michigan. I was informed that I would receive an email with an extension that we could use as ID until we return to Michigan to renew, but I have not received the email. I am wondering if they have the correct email address. My phone number is [redacted]. A brief phone call would likely resolve this issue, but all my efforts to speak with someone who can assist me have been unsuccessful. Thank you for your attention.

Yesterday, I scheduled an appointment online for 10:20 a.m. today at the Portage, Michigan location on Romance Road. With my license expiring in a week, I arrived and waited for an hour and a half until I inquired at the door. The woman informed me that those appointments had already been completed and that I wasn't on the list. Despite not having the printed sheet, I requested to be squeezed in since I had traveled from Kalamazoo for the appointment, but she declined. As I reside in Kalamazoo and work in Battle Creek, this was quite inconvenient. I am now seeking an appointment at a Kalamazoo or Battle Creek location for tomorrow or Monday. I hope to resolve this promptly as the situation made me feel dismissed and unimportant after the long wait. It is critical for me to renew my license as it impacts both my jobs. Thank you.

I, like many others, am struggling to schedule a timely driver's license renewal appointment in Michigan. My current appointment is two months after my license expires, and available slots are already into September in my area of Birmingham. While I appreciate the need to minimize wait times at branch offices, securing a next-day appointment through the online system is challenging, especially for someone like me at 77. The reminders to renew are coming in late, leaving us little time to book a slot. I propose earlier reminders and perhaps temporary permits to avoid legal issues for driving with an expired license. We are attempting to follow the rules, but the system is making it difficult for us to do so.

I received my driver's license renewal paperwork on June 28, but when I tried to schedule an appointment today, 6 weeks before it expires, the earliest available date was August 6 at 11:20 AM. Both May and July had no availability. I went ahead and booked the earliest slot, considering the current backlog caused by the pandemic. It seems impossible to secure a next-day appointment. Due to this situation, I am concerned about potentially incurring fines for driving with an expired license after June 28, on top of late renewal charges. Is there any solution that the Secretary of State office can offer for this issue? Thank you, James S. Prucha.

I need to cancel my SOS appointment. The website does not provide any information on how to cancel appointments. After scheduling an appointment, I receive confirmation, but the appointment confirmation page is inaccessible once I log out. This website is frustrating to use and lacks clarity on cancelling appointments. I hope to receive a prompt response as I haven't heard back from my previous inquiry.

I did not receive a tab with my vehicle registration in the mail. I spoke with Jackie Brown, who said she sent me five replacement tabs, but I never got them. I attempted to order a replacement online and paid for it but was informed that my car was not eligible. I suspect this is why I did not receive the replacements from Jackie. I tried calling [redacted] more than a hundred times, but the queue was always full. I am frustrated and would appreciate speaking to a real person for assistance. I urgently need help with this issue as my license tab expired on April 16th and I am uncomfortable driving without the new one. Please have Jackie Brown contact me or provide a working phone number for her. Thank you. - Shirley Hoaglin, License H245 [redacted] [redacted] [redacted], Phone: [redacted].

I am in need of car tags but cannot schedule an appointment at the SOS office currently. I require the tags by Monday, June 28th and am unable to use a machine because I need to pay in cash. It would be beneficial if the tags included a notice about the challenges of obtaining them on time from the SOS office. It seems unreasonable to incur extra charges for expired tags when efforts were made to obtain them promptly. This situation is unfair and reflects poorly on Michigan's practices. It is suggested that if tags cannot be obtained on time, additional costs should be waived. As a senior with mobility challenges, it is difficult to travel to different places to resolve this issue. Could someone provide information on alternative ways to obtain tags promptly? Thank you, S. Carter.

I have been attempting to renew the registration for 2 vehicles for several days now. I have not received the renewal notices. I visited a machine at Meijers in Mason, Michigan to obtain new tags, but the machine was unable to process. I have been trying to contact 1-[redacted], pressing zero multiple times daily, but have not been successful. When I tried to renew online, I received a message stating that the cars I entered are not available for registration. The vehicles are in my name, but registered with my late husband's birthdate and social security number. Since my husband passed away on 3/11/[redacted], I believe this issue is preventing me from renewing the registration. The plate numbers are OMXL48 with Vehicle # [redacted] and plate # 8MXK84 with Vehicle # [redacted]. I need assistance on how to proceed with this matter to complete the renewals. Thank you, Vicki L Drown. You can reach me at [redacted] or [redacted] (cell phone) or via email at the provided address.

I encountered an issue trying to reach a government agency - what a surprise. Clicking on the help links just refreshes the same page. Typical government inefficiency. Although they claimed I could renew my tabs and license online, the tab renewal surprisingly went through. However, renewing the license hit a roadblock. Upon attempting to log in, I was informed my account was disabled with vague instructions to contact them for help. The lack of clarity and inaccessible help only added to the frustration. The absence of a phone number for support is absurd. The circular instructions and broken webpage just exacerbate the situation. It’s disappointing to face late renewal fees due to the site's dysfunction. Dealing with government websites can be infuriating, but sadly, it's a common occurrence. Such experiences are beyond exasperating and can feel maddening.

I recently had a hearing with Hearing Office Mayfield regarding a Smart Start breathalyzer violation. The hearing was on August 18th at 3:00 p.m., and the outcome was positive. However, since it has been over 2 weeks, my lawyer has not been able to reach the Hearing Officer to confirm if my report is complete. I am wondering if there is anything I can do on my end to follow up and expedite the process of getting my license back. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Shayna A.

On August 6, [redacted], I transferred the title for a boat and trailer from seller Darren Lee Elswick to buyers H. Obermeyer and P. M. Gray. I received the new boat title but have yet to receive the trailer title. As the purchaser, I am concerned there may be an issue with the mailing process. The trailer's title number is 206Z[redacted]F for a CCR Trailer. The transaction took place at the Niles, Michigan SOS office. I would appreciate an update on the status of this transaction. My email is [redacted] and my phone number is [redacted]. Please let me know when we can expect to receive the perfected trailer title in our names as buyers. Thank you.

My driver's license was suspended in mid-June pending a physician's report. I believe I have sent you copies of the report both by email and fax. I hope you have received these documents. Could you please advise me on the next steps to lift the suspension and reinstate my license? I have tried calling multiple times, but the lines are always busy. Kindly update me on the progress of resolving this issue. For prompt communication, feel free to contact me at [redacted] or [redacted] I am eager to have this matter resolved quickly. I have spent almost two hours attempting to renew our plate tabs online without success. The vehicle is registered in my husband's name, and since he doesn't have a separate email or cell phone, I have been using mine for confirmation. However, the system indicates that the email and phone number are already in use. As a 75-year-old who doesn't have a cell phone and shares an email with my husband, there seems to be no suitable option for us. Furthermore, when trying to schedule an appointment at the SOS office for tabs renewal, there wasn't an option for this specific service. This once straightforward process has become overly complex and frustrating for us.

I need to request a copy of my vehicle registration for my Mazda MX-5 with the VIN JM1N*****[redacted] and License Plate MC8593 registered on 09/24/[redacted]. My online services account is disabled, and despite trying to reset it, all representatives are busy, and I can't get through as the queue is full. I attempted to set up a new account, which seemed successful but is not being recognized. Please either enable my current account or provide me with a copy of my registration.

Upon my return to Michigan after an eight-year absence, I needed to update my plates and registration. Yesterday, on 25 October at the Secretary of State's office, the clerk offered me a recreational tag for my RV. Assuming there wouldn't be an additional fee due to my status as a senior and [redacted]% disabled veteran, I accepted. However, upon checking my receipt, I realized I was charged nearly $[redacted] for a service I may never use, which is a significant expense on my fixed income. I moved back to Michigan due to health reasons and to be closer to family. These services were complimentary in Florida, contrasting with the unexpected cost here. As a disabled individual, the recreational tag proves to be impractical and unaffordable. I did not question the charges at the office, assuming it was a cumulative total for renewing my driving privileges in Michigan. I kindly request assistance with returning the tag and receiving a refund. Thank you for your help. - B. C.

Hello, I'm Dorothy Tanner, an 80-year-old with some medical concerns. Unfortunately, both my children have passed on, and my son-in-law, Eric Nagel, resides with me to assist. Eric's had his driver's license suspended for several years due to past DUIs. Although he's overcome his drinking issue, he's unable to reinstate his license. I'm contemplating if I can support him in obtaining a restricted license for work, shopping, and running errands for me. Could you kindly advise me on the necessary steps to achieve this? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have yet to receive my driver's license despite requesting it twice. The most recent request was on Nov 23rd. As I am leaving the state on Dec 30th and will be in CA for all of January, I am becoming increasingly worried. Having my driver's license is crucial for me to pick up a rental car. I would greatly appreciate it if you could expedite the shipping of my license via 2nd-day air. I am more than willing to cover the additional costs. - Wendy Marie White DL# W300 [redacted] [redacted] Parklane Drive, Clay, MI [redacted]

I recently received a notification from the Florida State Transportation department stating that I owe money for a toll transaction on 11/23/21 involving the license plate MI-6MTN09. However, the vehicle in the picture they provided does not match the one I am leasing. I have never been to Florida, so I am worried that either someone else has been assigned this plate number or that it is being used fraudulently. If this plate number is involved in an accident or any illegal activity, I am concerned about how I can prove it was not me. Is it possible for me to get a new plate number to resolve this issue? I am quite anxious about this situation and would appreciate any help or advice you can provide. Thank you.

I have been attempting to renew my plate tabs online for nearly two hours without success. The system keeps indicating that my vehicle is ineligible for renewal. Yesterday, I was told by my insurance agency that there was no record of insurance for my vehicle and that the VIN number was incorrect. After updating my records, they have sent the corrected information to the Michigan Secretary of State, which may take up to 24 hours to reflect in the system. Despite this, today I still encountered the same error message stating my vehicle is ineligible for tab renewal. This issue must be resolved promptly as my tags have already expired.
