Normally, I don't complain about salespeople because one bad apple can spoil the bunch. Today, I had a disappointing experience at Menards in Carmel, Indiana while looking for a shower replacement door. I approached Erik, who I believe is the department manager, and found him to be quite rude. When I tried to explain what I needed, he immediately informed me they didn't have it. A kind gentleman tried to assist me, but Erik intervened, insisting he couldn't help without a product number. After searching for the number on my phone, a lady named Ellen approached me and successfully located the door. She even gathered more staff to assist. Despite living close to Home Depot and Lowe's, I chose Menards for their in-store variety. However, encounters with employees like Erik make me reconsider. Online options like Amazon offer convenience without the hassle of unfriendly service. I made sure to thank Ellen and the other lady for their helpful and positive attitudes and hope they continue to excel.

Hello, I recently purchased a shower door from your website and unfortunately, it did not fit the shower that I also bought from your site. The shower I received had a chip in the built-in bench and some minor defects. When I contacted customer service, I was advised to return the shower, but the replacement would take another month. Due to the inconvenience, my husband returned the shower door to the store where they deducted 25% of its value as a restocking fee. I was unaware of this fee for special orders on your website. Despite being a loyal customer who has spent over $15,[redacted] on various items from Menards over the past two years, the store manager in Lancaster, Ohio, mentioned that this is store policy and could not offer further assistance. Dear Sir, I am writing to inform you about an incident that took place on Saturday, 9/18/21, at 1:45pm at your store located on NW 90th in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon completing my purchase, I was stopped by a security employee who accused me of trying to steal a knife. Despite my confusion and attempts to explain, the employee persisted, even showing me a picture that he claimed was me. The situation unfolded in front of other customers, creating a very embarrassing ordeal. After a supervisor intervened and reviewed the store video, I was eventually told I could leave. As a longstanding teacher at St. Therese School and member of St. Therese Parish, this experience was deeply humiliating. It would have been appropriate for a manager or supervisor to address the situation with an apology. I invested a substantial amount on a new deck installation. I spoke with Manager Britney at the Plainfield, IL store and was given a form to report defects in the decking assembly. Despite submitting the form a month ago with photos of the bubbling deck material, there has been no response. I was told to expect a call within a week, but it has been a month. Our deck remains empty as we are hesitant to place our furniture on it. I hope this message reaches the appropriate department. On Sunday, October 3rd, my 73-year-old mother, a loyal customer, visited your store to purchase a Delta Faucet for her bathroom sink. With my stepdad unavailable due to health reasons, she relied on employee Terry for assistance. While trying to exchange the faucet and verify the plunger's presence by opening the box, a service desk representative kindly checked but couldn't find it, suggesting she get another one. However, Terry rudely accused my mother of falsely claiming the part was missing, escalating to the point where he angrily threw the box against a shelf. Distressed, my mother sought the manager, Jeremiah, who apologized for the incident. Despite my intention to report Terry's behavior to the Corporate Office, Jeremiah dismissed my concerns as exaggerated and abruptly ended our call. The lack of respect and kindness shown to a vulnerable senior customer is concerning and unacceptable, raising questions about the treatment of patrons in your store.

On October 4, [redacted], my husband bought a toilet from your Sharonville, Ohio store. Unfortunately, it was damaged. He exchanged it for another one, but the employee damaged the box further. Once we got home, the item was even more damaged due to the torn box. When my husband called and spoke with the GM, Ken Sigel, he refused to exchange it and was rude, ultimately hanging up on him. We are now left without a toilet, and I'm extremely disappointed with the service we received. We would like a refund for the damaged item. This experience has been the worst, and we will not be returning to your stores and will be sharing our negative experience with others.

I sought assistance from a Menards employee two days ago regarding locks for my storage unit and bolt cutters. The employee recommended the locks and assured me that the cutters were returnable if I couldn't use them. However, upon returning home, I realized I didn't receive a receipt for the $[redacted] cash spent. My husband's friend had already fixed the locks, rendering the items unnecessary. I urgently need a refund for the $90 bolt cutters and the lock, which cannot be attached to my latch. Life has been challenging since my husband's passing, and I can't afford to lose over $[redacted] on unusable items. I kindly request the store allow me to return them without a receipt, as the employee didn't mention this requirement. I have never returned anything before and am a loyal customer in need of assistance. Your understanding and help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had positive shopping experiences at Menards. The bright lighting in the window display always draws me in. With properties in two states needing constant support, companies like Menards are essential for our projects. Unfortunately, I've been hospitalized twice in the past two months due to Covid complications. At 73 years old, my scoliosis causes issues with my spine. As I recover, planning projects keeps me going. After my hospital stay, I visited Menards for supplies to work on a project I planned during my confinement. Despite feeling weak after my hospitalization, being in the store was therapeutic. While shopping, I began to feel my energy wane. At the checkout, I realized I had overextended myself. I politely asked for help to bag and load my $[redacted] worth of materials but was met with resistance from the cashier, Grant. The manager eventually assisted, but the lack of empathy from some staff left me feeling belittled. I hope to address this experience to ensure better assistance in the future. I need assistance with an email I'm trying to send to Menards. Despite my attempts with customer service, I have been unsuccessful. On September 30th, I purchased a sweeper and returned it on October 20th with the receipt and all parts in the box. However, the manager at Menards refused the return. The sweeper was complete, clean, and within the 30-day return window mentioned on the receipt (December 29th). I have never faced an issue with Menards in the 50 years I have been shopping there. I would like to receive a refund back to my card. How can I ensure this refund is processed as per the terms stated on the receipt?

I have been a customer for several years, engaging with Menards locations in Northern Kentucky, Southern Ohio, and Dayton. As a customer with multiple building companies, I have spent well over a million dollars with Menards. My top Menards store is in Hamilton, OH, where the staff is exceptionally polite and helpful. Lately, I have been frequenting the Loveland store due to my ongoing building projects exceeding $5 million. During my visit on 10/27/[redacted] at around 12pm, I interacted with Zach in the Lumber section, who was notably polite and knowledgeable. After discussing with John, the supposed manager, about price matching with Home Depot, I was disappointed with the encounter that followed. Despite John assuring me the material was in stock for over $[redacted] worth of items, a mistake was made in the order. I provided a friendly heads-up about the inventory error. Unexpectedly, Jake intervened, abruptly voiding the sale and refusing to honor the price match commitment. I feel misled by Menards' advertising, considering the time and resources lost during this incident.

Every week, Bethany Presbyterian Church provides [redacted] bags of food to children in need at three urban elementary schools, improving their families' access to food. The Menard's plastic bags have proven to be the most reliable for this purpose. I recently purchased 10.5" composite cladding from Menards in Clive, IA. Upon arrival, I discovered that the material was not in stock at the location. After contacting other Menards, I located the item at a store 20 minutes away. This caused a significant delay for my project site, as it took me 45 minutes to reach the new location. When I asked for a discount due to the inconvenience, the associate responded rudely and dismissively, showing little regard for my time. I need to report an incident that occurred at Menards in Saint Paul, MN (Midway). My father, who is disabled and in need of using the restroom due to his medical conditions, was physically blocked by a cleaning staff member. Despite his urgent need, she prevented him from entering and then proceeded to physically assault him by punching him in the chest. This caused my father chest pain and difficulty breathing, leading him to seek medical attention in the ER. To make matters worse, security escorted him out of the store and the police were wrongly called on him. The general manager, Justin, has been unhelpful and dismissive when my mother tried to address the situation. This behavior is unacceptable, and I am considering legal action. I request a prompt response to address this distressing incident.

I bought a [redacted]-foot sewer line mesh to prevent clogging, along with a [redacted]-foot corrugated sewer line. However, I discovered the mesh is about 20 feet too short for the sewer line. I'm unsure if the mesh was not cut correctly or if the product information was inaccurate. Now I'm deciding whether to return it and risk getting another one of the same size or spend more money to cover the length discrepancy. Fitting it on was challenging, and I'm frustrated by this situation as it may become redundant.

I recently ordered small landscape lights from two of your locations as they were out of stock at my preferred Evandale store in Cincinnati. I received 4 lights from Terre Haute, IN, which were well-packaged in a box with bubble wrap and Menard's green tape. However, the other 8 lights came from Chillicothe, OH. All 8 boxes were stacked together and hastily taped with clear tape, resulting in three of the corners being smashed in, with one box needing different tape to hold it together. Unfortunately, one of the boxes was missing the glass globe. I will be contacting my local store to address this issue. It's concerning how the boxes were poorly taped and shipped, making the contents easily identifiable. I purchased exterior paint from Menards, and one of the 5-gallon cans turned out to be black instead of the correct color. Unfortunately, the painter started painting with it, thinking it would lighten up, but it didn't. Now I need to repaint the entire house. I am requesting a refund of nearly $[redacted] for the paint that ruined my house due to an employee's mistake. I also believe some form of compensation is necessary for having to pay the painters twice because of your employees' error.

I recently applied for a Menard's Big Card to finance a roofing project. After being approved for a $[redacted] credit limit, I placed my order in-store. Now, despite receiving a bill from Capital One Big Card for materials that haven't arrived, I have yet to hear about the delivery status. When contacting Capital One, they directed me back to the store, specifically the delivery department, which seemed inefficient. I recently had a dispute with Menards in Homewood, IL, and reached out to the General Manager, Mr. Riechert. Unfortunately, during our phone call, Mr. Riechert was extremely rude and disrespectful towards me. I explained my issue with a shed purchased in May [redacted], but he accused me of trying to defraud the company. I had to ask him not to contact me again and indicated I would report his behavior to Corporate. If possible, I would appreciate it if Mr. Riechert's supervisor could reach out to me instead. Mr. Riechert would benefit from anger management classes and training on how to communicate more effectively with customers. I placed an order for 2 - 12'×12' overhead insulated doors in August. It took until the end of November to receive the doors and hardware, but unfortunately, the springs for the doors were missing. This was part of a barn building package, and now the barn has been standing for months without the doors installed. With winter here, it's crucial to have functioning doors. I've been in contact with Menards multiple times, but they keep providing me with false dates for when the springs will arrive. As a long-time customer who has spent a significant amount of money with Menards, I am very disappointed with their customer service. All I want is to receive the missing parts that I have paid for.

During my visit to the Matteson, Ill. Store on December 6, [redacted], I encountered a distressing incident in the restroom. After sitting down in the handicap stall due to recent knee surgery, I was shocked to find brown water spraying up as I flushed the toilet. The unsanitary water spilled onto the floor, soaking my shoes, socks, underwear, and sweatpants. I swiftly moved to the adjacent stall to finish using the restroom. Upon informing a clerk about the issue, I received a lackluster response. Despite expressing my concerns given the current health climate, the staff's reaction was disappointing.
