On September **th, **** my husband and I went to Menards on Brookpark in Cleveland, Ohio to pick-up the lumber that we ordered. We were told the lumber had been there for several days, yet no one called or emailed us. You had my money for weeks, yet no one took the time to call. The lumber was loaded into our truck by your employees and my husband told them it looked like too much, he didn't think that was our order, but the employee insisted it was. I left several messages at the Brookpark location for someone to contact me. I finally called again and got the assistant manager of the store, Chris . He was very disrespectful and condescending when he talked to me, and eventually scheduled to pickup the excess lumber, we decided to take it back ourselves to get a written acknowledgment. I will say that I estimated that this was a $*** to $*,*** dollar mistake made by your employees. I told Chris that I wanted a written acknowledgement that we returned this lumber so we could not be held liable in any way if it came up missing in inventory and it was showed being loaded into our truck by the security cameras. Chris told me I didn't need one and he would not give me one because I didn't pay for the lumber. (I did pay for the actual lumber I ordered) That is when we decided to load all the lumber in our truck after unloading it once and personally taking it back ourselves so the could get a written acknowledgement. This was a lot of lumber and was a very inconvenience for us. After all is said and done we returned the lumber, Chris was very adamant about not giving us a written acknowledgement and after we had a few words he disappeared, never to show up again. He did not thank us for returning the lumber or for bringing it back. Jeffrey Smathers I believe, is the manager for the building department that finally gave us a written acknowledgement. I think it is very sad that someone returning that much lumber at such a significant cost would be treated this way. How many people would have returned this lumber?? Also the delivery driver showed up to pick up the lumber because Chris neglected to cancel the order.
