I just wanted to let you know about the way that Meijer seems to do business, I’m not going to get into how many times they have rotated expired stock to try not to throw things away, this is the Portage Indiana store. I used to shop the store on Indianapolis ave. on the way home from work and was really excited when they redid the old Super K and made it a Meijer, but I hate to say it, we were better off with Super K. I hate to say how many times I’ve bought, for instance, garlic bread spread and it has been expired for months, packaged lettuce is the same, not months, many days. What I am talking about is the Seapac clam strips that were on sale last week, the ** oz. pack for $*.**, on sale from I think, $*.**, at the Portage In. Meijer, if you don’t buy them on Sunday, they are never restocked at all during the week, it stayed empty all week until a really genius stocker filled up the spot with the * oz. packages. You will get some customers to buy without looking, nice way to do business. By Wednesday, I was ticked off enough to take a ride to the Valpo store, which by the way, Portage should be jealous, what a much nicer store this is, but they were out also. I went to the Portage one every day to check, and it was never refilled, I checked last on Saturday afternoon, of course being the way business is done in Portage, they had the * oz. packages. All I wanted was to buy * darn boxes, so I went to Customer Service and asked for a rain check, and was told they weren’t doing that, pretty sad if you ask me. I go to Meijer Monday morning, and low and behold, at least ** boxes of the not on sale anymore, clams are in the freezer case. I’m not dumb enough to say that I will never shop Meijer again, because I go there at least * times a week, but I am so tired of their practices at the Portage store and finally got way too fed up to not say something this time. Why do you offer sales in your ad, but never have the product for * of the * days? Being as big of a company as yours means that one unhappy person doesn’t mean all that much, but at least I got to say something this time, you really should make going to your store, a much more enjoyable experience.
