This is regarding ticket number *****-****-******-M**R-****-PHI-NEW, which my friend Julie Peters purchased on ********, Saturday around Noon. She'd never ridden Megabus, but I encouraged her to look at ticket prices for the two of us, for a trip to New York for Thanksgiving to visit family. I've taken Megabus many times and have hosted many foreign students traveling on Megabus, so I know how great Megabus is. At the same time, I was searching for tickets to NYC, as well & as it turns out, we both purchased tickets! She with Mega bus, but I found a supersaver for us on Amtrak, which really saves us some money & since I was let go of my job, * weeks ago, money IS an issue! We realized our mistake- that we had both bought tickets for the same trip immediately & she called Megabus to ask for a refund. She was denied, as was I when I called later. I'm aware of airlines having a ** hr refund policy & just assumed in certain circumstances, Mega bus would do the same. I'm please asking you to reconsider and make an exception to give Julie the refund to visit our families. She called just * hours after she'd bought the ticket and realized that I'd bought the train ticket. When I spoke to a customer service representative, she kept saying "But we're two different companies. . . Amtrak & Megabus" which of course, I know! I'm just asking you to understand how someone could make a mistake and a few hours later call to try to remedy it- by giving her the $** refund. It would help more than you know. Thank you.
