My partner and I are from Arizona, we booked a Megabus leaving from Rochester to Toronto on ********. Departure was on Broad street at *:**p arriving in Toronto at *:**p. The operator*driver of this Megabus was the most rude and combative driver*pilot I have ever encountered traveling. She should not be working for the company. She made our travel with Megabus unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant. She was rude, combative and provided no customer service - she created problems instead of problem solving. We are from Arizona and we had one additional bag, the fine print in our booking said “additional bags are at the discretion of the driver” we figured if the bus was full we may have an issue and would have understood that. The bus was **% full, at best, meaning our one additional bag should not have been an issue for any reason. As we were loading up the driver said “only one bag each”, I replied “we have an additional bag can we bring it?”, “no” was her reply “you are not bring another bag”. I stated “I am from Arizona, heading to Canada, I have no where to put the bag, I am not returning to Rochester I need to keep it with me” Her reply “So what, I’m from New Jersey”. I replied, “Ok, so what are you telling me? Can I get on with my bags or not?”, “If not, I’ll need to cancel my trip and find another way to Canada”, she said “give me your bag, I will let you on but you are not bringing more than one bag back!”, I stated that won’t be an issue as I am not coming back, I’m flying from Canada back to Arizona. All of this was said with an aggressive and combative tone. This was not public transportation, I paid for, and reserved, upgraded seats (nor do I believe public transportation has permission to be that rude). Also, I overheard another woman, who was on the “half full bus” discussing a similar experience when she boarded. This same driver would not take her additional bag, on a half full bus, and actually told her she had one minute to decide what to do. The woman left her bag on the side of the road and had her husband, who dropped her off, go back to the pick up location to get her bag. It was full of gifts for her niece and nephew. As a business owner, I would be mortified to learn that one of my employees behaved in this manner. Disciplinary action must be taken. Please let me know how you will remedy this situation for me, she made a simple bus ride extremely stressfully and anxiety provoking. I am emailing the company prior to doing so to provide an opportunity remedy the situation prior to my review. How this matter is handled will be included in the review. -Yvette-
